00Hi there, this is Stephen, thanks for listening. Before tonight's sleep story, there's going to be a couple of ads, and the good thing is that this means there will be no more ads after this point. If you'd like to listen to my content, add free, you can join my Patreon. The link is in the description. Thank you. Predator Badlands, now streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus. Here, you're not the Predator, you're the prey, prey, prey, prey, prey, prey, prey, prey. Critics are saying it's epic, stunning, and breathtaking. Many have come here, none have survived. Predator Badlands, now streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus rated PG-13. Rift-Rushing Wild Cherry Cola meets smooth cream.

00The treat you deserve. Pepsi Wild Cherry and Cream, treat yourself. Hello my friend, welcome to your sleep story. My name is Stephen Dalton, I'm an Irish storyteller, and it's my great privilege to be the voice that you listen to as you go to sleep tonight. Tonight's story is less a story, I suppose, and more of a visualization. You will be gently guided by my voice toward your happy place, your safe place. It will be a place of your creation. It may be a beach on a moonlit evening, or a particularly beautiful memory from your own life

08that you want to step back into. It's really up to you. The whole idea is that you can visit here anytime you want. Okay, let's do the relaxation session now, which will take a few minutes before tonight's sleep story. I'm going to count down from 10 to 1, and as I do, allow yourself to let go. More and more, 10, feel the support of the bed beneath you, or the floor, or whatever you lie upon tonight, and beneath what you lie upon, feel a deeper support, the support of the earth, our home, our constant support,

17and as you become aware of that support, see if you can sink into this moment a little more now. Just let go, a little more now. 9. You are safe. Allow my voice to be an anchor of safety tonight, to be a friend, to be a gentle guide, a guide that only ever brings you to safe places,

20to warm and cozy places, to places that enable and support your sleep. 8. Feel into your body now. Notice where you might still be holding tonight, or you may have pain, or tingling, or tension. Notice anything. Maybe you feel something in your

25feet, or in your lower legs, or your thighs, or your belly, your chest, shoulders, arms, hands, or maybe you're like me, and you hold tension in your face. 9. Just see if you can soften a little now. This is a time for kindness to yourself and to your body.

377. The day is done, whatever has been, has been, whatever will be, will be. But right now, all you have is this moment. Your thoughts can't change what has gone before. Your thoughts can't change what will come tomorrow. Your brain needs rest now.

39So, as thoughts come and go now, don't fight them. Don't chase them away. See them for what they are, thoughts. Then just watch them go, like leaves floating away, on a moonlit river, or clouds passing through a starlit sky. 6. This is your moment. This is your time.

527. You have earned this moment of kindness to yourself. You deserve to have peace in your life we all do. So, as you become aware of that fact, as you come to the understanding that we all deserve peace, see if you can settle into this moment a little more now, letting your body know that it's really time for rest. 5. Peace lives within you.

067. It is a constant friend waiting to be found, waiting to be felt, where does it live within you? 7. Maybe it's in your heart. Maybe it's in your head. It's up to you to find it, but I promise you it's there. 4. Perhaps allow a little gratitude now. Gratitude for the simple things for your body.

07For the shelter you have tonight, for the ones you love, and to love you, for the beauty and wonder of this world, of this planet, that you can find when you look for it. 3. Begin to engage with your imagination now. Begin to feel open to suggestion. 4. For tonight, you will create your safe place. Your happy place. I will give you gentle nudges.

185. Ask you gentle questions, but this will be your place, your safe haven, that you can return to 2. Anytime you want to, with a single breath, 2. Checking in with your body one more time now, finding the places you are holding still, and allowing yourself to give in, to allow the tension to ease away. Your body has worked hard for you today.

225. It's time to give it rest, and one completely letting go now, as I tell you tonight's sleep story. 3. Imagine a place of pure kindness. You do not need to see it clearly yet. Simply sense that it exists. 5. The place where your shoulders drop a little, where your breathing finds its own unhurried rhythm. 5. It may be indoors, or outdoors. It may belong to memory, or it may be somewhere you have never physically been.

51For now, it is enough to know that this place welcomes you without question. 5. Begin to let the outlines form. Notice the ground beneath you. 5. Is it warm stone? Cool grass? Wooden floorboards that hold the memory of sunlight? 5. There is a gentle light here. Not bright. Not dim. Simply right for you.

595. Take a moment now, and allow your mind to decide what that light feels like on your skin. 5. There may be a sound in the distance, wind moving through leaves, ocean waves, rain, or maybe it's just quiet. Now, let the details arrive slowly, as if they are choosing to reveal themselves.

14Is there a place to sit or lie down? Perhaps a simple bench? Or a cushion? Or a patch of earth? Shaped perfectly to your body? 5. Notice the air? Is it cool and fresh? Or warm and steady? 5. You do not have to force any image. If the mind offers nothing, that is fine.

165. Simply rest in the sense of being held by this place. It asks nothing of you. 5. It expects nothing. You are allowed to be exactly as you are. As you settle here, reflect gently. Happiness does not always come from excitement or achievement.

22Often, it is this, a quiet space where nothing needs to be solved. 5. Feel how your breath moves in and out within this imagined refuge. Each exhale softens you further into the ground, into the seat, into the moment.

305. Stay here for a while. Let this place become familiar. Now, allow the place to open up a little. You will not confine to the area where you first settled. 5. There is more here. Without rushing, let your awareness expand outward a little.

39And noticing what lies beyond your immediate resting spot. Perhaps there is a path. It does not demand that you walk it. But maybe it is there. Notice what it is made of if it is there. 5. Earth packed softly under bare feet. Smooth stone. Pale sand. You do not have to decide quickly. 5. Let the mind offer something simple. Good.

555. If it feels natural, if you see a path, begin to move along it at an easy pace. 5. Your breathing steady. Your body unhurried. As you walk, notice what grows nearby. There may be trees tall and steady or low grasses moving gently.

00Perhaps there are flowers. You do not need to name them. Simply notice their presence. What colors appear here? What shapes allow one small detail to become clear? 5. Maybe the curve of a leaf, where the way light rests on water, if there is water nearby.

065. You may begin to hear something more distinct now. The quiet rhythm, it could be waves folding in and out along a shore. 5. It could be a stream flowing over small stones. 5. It could even be the simple sound of wind moving through branches.

08The sound, be steady. Let it reassure you. 5. There is nothing dramatic here. Only continuity. 5. Pause for a moment now. Feel your feet, meeting the ground. 5. This place is not only seen, it is felt.

205. Notice the temperature on your skin. Notice how the air touches your face, your hands. 5. If there is a scent here, clean earth after rain maybe, salt from the sea or the faint sweetness of something blooming. 5. Allow it to arrive gently.

275. You naturally want to rest. It might be beside water. 5. The cold tree, it might be near a small, simple dwelling, a cottage, a hut, a structure that feels modest and welcoming. 5. Approach it without expectation. Notice how your body responds.

355. Is there a subtle easing in the chest, a softening behind the eyes, a letting go. 5. When you arrive, sit or lie down once more. Feel the support beneath you. 5. Let the world continue around you, without eating your involvement.

555. Water flows. The light slowly shifts as time passes. 5. You are not required to manage anything here. 5. Prove yourself. You are simply present. 5. If thoughts arise about your life, your plans, your regrets, allow them to pass through this place.

165. The way clouds pass across the sky. They do not stain it. They do not disturb it. 5. And then they move on. For a few moments, imagine that this place knows you. 5. Not your achievements. Not your roles.

285. It knows the quiet part of you that is here now, breathing, and it welcomes that part completely. 5. Rest here. 5. And as we continue, we will go deeper into the heart of this happy place. 5. There is something very simple and very human is waiting for you.

44You are resting now in this place you have begun to shape. 5. And this place that is already becoming familiar, the path behind you, the gentle sounds of nature perhaps around you, the steady light that feels just right on your skin. And I mentioned that something very simple, very human is waiting for you here.

52Do not rush to discover it. Let it reveal itself in its own time. 5. Before anything else, deepen the details of this place in your own way. I can offer suggestions, but this is your refuge. If the tree beside you needs a thicker trunk, allow it. If the water should be closer, let it move closer.

55If the air should be warmer, adjust it gently in your imagination. 6. Notice how easily the mind can reshape the world when there is no pressure. 6. Look around again. What lies just beyond your resting spot? Perhaps there is a small structure, a simple dwelling with a door slightly open.

02Perhaps there is only open landscape, hills rolling softly into the distance. The evening sun shining on your face, feel free to change it. It can be whatever you want it to be. This is your happy place. Let the horizon take the form that brings you is good. This is your safe place.

12No one enters without your invitation. Nothing appears here, unless you allow it. Even the weather answers to you. If a cloud drifts across the sky, and you would prefer clear light, it clears. If you would like a little more shade, the light softens. Notice the quiet authority you have here.

12It is not control-born of tension. It is gentle authorship. Now, since again that something very simple and very human is waiting, perhaps it is a feeling, perhaps it is a presence, perhaps it is the memory of being understood without explanation.

15Take a slow breath in, and as you exhale, imagine that you are ready to approach whatever this is. If it feels natural, stand slowly, and take a few steps, there is no urgency. Your body feels light here, supported, safe.

35In the head of you, there may be a small table with two chairs, or a blanket laid carefully on the ground. There is simply a smooth stone, warmed by the day. Let one clear image come forward. Good. And now consider this. You do not have to be alone here. If you wish, you may invite someone into this place.

45Only someone who brings ease. Only someone whose presence allows your breath to deepen, rather than tighten. It could be someone you know. It could even be a version of yourself, younger, older, wiser. You decide, and if you prefer solitude, that is equally perfect.

55If you choose to invite someone, notice how they arrive. They do not startle you. They simply appear at a respectful distance, waiting for your acknowledgement. Observe the expression on their face. There is no judgement there, only recognition. Be what happens in your body, if you see a person.

59Perhaps the chest softens. Perhaps the jaw releases. Good. This is the very human thing waiting here. Connection without demand. You do not need to perform. You do not need to impress. You are met exactly as you are in this moment.

59If you are alone, and you choose not to see someone, then the human thing waiting. Maybe your own self-acceptance. A quiet understanding. The simple experience of being enough while doing nothing at all. Now, feel the ground beneath you.

05Feel the steady support. Feel how your breath moves without supervision. Thoughts may still pass through. Plans, memories, fragments of the day. But they do not disturb the foundations of this place. They move through like gentle breezes. And remember, this is your happy place.

13Not because everything is perfect. But because nothing here asks you to be different from what you are. If you like, you may lie back now. Feel your body lengthen if someone is with you. If they remain seated nearby, the quiet presence.

15Notice the light. Is it daytime or is it evening? There is no fear in the dimming light here. Only comfort. And that very simple, very human thing. And acceptance, belonging, remains steady. Like a small, reliable flame within you.

25Good. Let everything settle now. You are here. In the place you have shaped so carefully. The path behind you. The quiet sounds continuing without effort. The air resting gently on your skin. This place has become clearer because you allowed it to.

31You gave it form. You gave it space. And it has held you well. Now there is nothing more to build. Let the details soften at the edges. The horizon can blur slightly. The light shifts into a tone that feels restful to your eyes.

31Your body here in this safe place begins to feel heavier in a pleasant way. Notice how you are supported. The ground beneath you holds your full weight without strain. The air asks nothing of your breath. Your hands rest easily.

33Your jaw loosens. Even the small muscles around your eyes release. This is your happy place. It does not disappear when you sleep. It does not require maintenance. It simply exists steady and available. If you ever need it again, you will know how to return.

39The single slow breath will be enough. For now, let yourself lie down completely. Feel the back of your body sinking into the surface beneath you. Feel the gentle rhythm of your breathing in and out in and out.

45As natural as the sounds you have heard tonight, there is nothing to adjust, nothing to correct. If a thought drifts in, let it pass through this place without staying. It has no work to do here. Your safe place remains calm. The world within it continues peacefully, even as you begin to drift.

57The light fades into a soft darkness that feels protective. The sounds become a distant murmur, steady and reassuring. Your breathing slows. Your body grows warm and deeply at ease. And as you rest here, in the place you created, in the place that belongs only to you.

07Sleep begins to arrive quietly. There is no moment you need to notice. Just a gentle letting go. And you drift. And you sleep.
