Skegness Streetlights: Public Votes on Future

Option 1 called for removing the old globe lanterns and adding circular LED replacements, getting 95 responses. Option 2 kept the traditional brackets, but added circular LEDs with 100 responses. Option 3 favor keeping the existing globe lanterns entirely, pulling in 108 responses or about 36%. People backed option 3 to preserve Skaignis's classic seaside vibe. Just choosing option 1 stress savings, efficiency and modern consistency. Option 2 appealed to folks wanting a mix of heritage style and LED reliability.

Local councillor Jimmy Brooks noted the razor thin margins with just 13 votes between top and bottom, highlighting tough trade-offs on history, versus function and expense. The highway's team will now review these insights alongside technical and budget details before picking a path forward and sharing the timeline.
