Sister's Murder Trial: Rolex Theft Accusation

0:00On March 23rd, a 69-year-old woman named Nancy Pexton faces trial next month, accused of murdering her sister Jennifer Abbott and stealing her. Diamond encrested Rolex watch. Prosecutors say Pexton carried out a brutal knife attack on Abbott and her Camden flat, before taking the luxury timepiece that Abbott wore every day. The body was found on June 13th, after Abbott's niece and a neighbor broken to the Mornington Place apartment out of concern. Abbott had been last seen the live on June 10th at 7.30 a.m. walking her dog. Abbott, a film director and author who also used the name Sarah Steinberg, lived near her sister in Merrillbone. The sisters were just months apart in age, and the attack left Abbott's pet corgi locked in a bathroom without food for three days. Evidence from the scene included blood smears on kitchen surfaces, a missing knife from a block and duct tape near the body. The valuable Rolex, along with a Cartier bracelet, turned up later in Pexton's possession after her arrest at a hospital on June 18th.

1:02Judge Mark Lucraft, at the old Bailey set the trial to begin on April 7th, with Pexton pleading not guilty as the case moves forward.
