Sinema Fights Alienation Lawsuit

The plaintiff claims Sinema's affair with Matthew Amel broke up their marriage. Sinema has admitted to the relationship and is pushing to have the case dismissed right away. The lawsuit landed in North Carolina Court, where alienation of affection claims are still legal. Sinema argues the encounters never happened there, just in other states starting back in 2024, while Amel protected her. Sinema served Arizona as a Democrat, before switching to independent and skipping re-election last year. Now she works at a lobbying firm in Washington, keeping a lower profile after leaving office. Heather Amel wants $75,000 in damages for the fallout. Just recently, a North Carolina jury hit a social media influencer with a $1.75 million payout in a similar case. Court filing shows Sinema's team stressing the location issue to kill the suit early, leaving the outcome up in the air for now.
