Shredded Epstein Records, Unresolved Death

On March 24, newly released Justice Department records show that a huge amount of documents

got shredded at the federal jail in Manhattan, where Jeffrey Epstein died in August 2019.

This happened just days after his body was found in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional

Center, during a review by the Bureau of Prison's team.

Less than a week later, on August 15th and 16th, an inmate was told to haul multiple

bags of shredded paper to a dumpster out back.

He described it as an overwhelming volume, with officials pushing to destroy even more

boxes of material right away.

Staff members grew alarmed by the activity.

One correctional officer called the FBI's threat center that same day, saying he'd never

seen so much shredded stuff leaving the facility.

Another warn that destroying records during an active probe seemed wrong, and agents even

tried to stop the dumpster from being emptied.

These events sparked three separate federal investigations.

One into Epstein's death ruled a suicide by hanging, another on possible obstruction

from, the shredding and staff issues, and a third into unrelated misconduct by a guard.

Forensic experts questioned the suicide ruling based on neck injuries, but his cell was

never properly handled as a crime scene.

The shredding claims went unresolved.

Guards on duty-faced charges for falsifying logs that were later dropped, and the whole
