You know, Chris Jones is a year older. The secondary, we know they just traded Trent McDuffie, which I like to move long term, but in a short term, right now your corners are no Williams, a second year player. And then Christian Fulton, who was a veteran signing last year who barely could get on the field. The wide receiver spot right now, they brought back Taikwan Thordan. That's all they've done. We can keep going. Travis Kelsey is coming back. I'm fine with it, but I don't think the offense can run through him. Let's see what they do in the draft and maybe I'll come on in the summertime and I'll tell you that I think they're going to win the division and everything, but right now that's not where I'm at. Let's gold our guest just previously. Did you enjoy the zing band discussion? I never knew of the zing band. I might even say that I'd like to know more about the zing band. I think I would. I think that there's there's probably content there, but it was like, I don't know, 10 or 20 pieces. Would that be the terminology? You know, yeah musicians, sure, dressed up, 20 piece band. Okay, something about that size. Yeah, dressed up, you know, suits ties, team colors.

I mean colors. Yes, red and yellow, playing at municipal stadium in Kansas City, which closed to the chiefs anyway. I don't know how long it was still standing, but 1971 was their last season there. The bills were the last regular season game. The bills lost to the chiefs to finish one in 13. And high mark opened in 73. So yeah, and those stadiums always like, I mean the shape obviously arrowhead, but they're very similar. I've always heard that they were structurally very similar places. So I always kind of felt like they were sort of sister stadiums. I don't remember you and I really ever getting into the roof issue with our new place. But that's a conversation where I'm fine with. Have you or a family member been diagnosed with early stage non small cell lung cancer that can be removed by surgery?

You know, they're talking about fans enjoying, you know, the elements which are not always enjoyable. But it's a different, there's something about if this is not the wrong point.

There's something about going to a baseball game. Toronto is very different for me if the roof is open. Like there's something about just the fresh air and you know they're not going to play in the rain in baseball. That's you're off the hook if it rains, but there's just something wonderful about that that it goes away when it's indoors. And as raunchy as our weather can get today, for example, or last night. You know, it's still it's so nice in September and October. So often that I think it's when the stadium is brand new. It's really just about that. But if there were a roof on it, it would kind of feel maybe a little bit like a lost day when on an off day from work, you're going, you know, indoors. So I'm sure there'll be plenty of times when it's, you know, it's 30 mile an hour winds and rain and we'll long for it. I don't think you and I, I'm not sure exactly how you feel about this.

I don't think we got into it really because I never really minded that much. And, you know, playing fantasy football, you get into December games and you want them all to be indoors because they can be ruined by the weather, but whatever. I could never get to insisting that they do it with a roof simply because I couldn't get behind doubling the price or, or, you know, making the price 175% or whatever it would have been of the current cost to put a roof on it. I mean, I didn't, I didn't like the whole idea to begin with. It's only a stadium thing and everybody, it's just not my, it's not like cup of tea. It's the way the business works. I get it, but like I never even needed a new stadium, let alone a roof. So I couldn't, with a clear conscience, say like, yeah, well, you know, Kathy Holkill helped us find another $500 million so we can put a retractable roof on this thing. Because that would have been the way to go. That way you can preserve your September and October's like you're talking about and then, you know, provide shelter when you feel you need it in, you know, in the playoffs or whatever.

Right. It's not really exactly one or the other, is it? Yeah, I mean, again, but that, that is, you know, there's a roof and then there's a retractable roof and like everything multiplies by hundreds of millions of dollars. In order to write the roof itself multiplies retractable roof. Now there's another multiplier exponentially. And I just could never make the case because I hate the way the stuff gets paid for fundamentally at inception. And so I never wanted to stump for more, but I think if I were, if cost were no object, I think I would put a retractable roof on it is what I would do. Is there an NFL market that more warrants that? I know, right? Because like you said, I mean, it is, you don't want to give it up. I mean, Minnesota is the only, that's not retractable. But the way that they design that to let the light in makes you feel like you're outside, at least that's how it looks to me on TV or when the scene setters for the game happen.

Like the natural light in there looks like outside to me kind of. And so that, that's appealing, but ultimately, no, retractable roof. I've got nice days. We want some degree of that and some degree of elements, but when it's insane, you know, like the second half of the Bronco Patriot, aFC title game, if we're playing a home game and we're on a bad end of that, I mean, what are you doing here? You know, like give your guys a chance. The game is kind of ruined. Yeah, the game is kind of ruined. And the stakes are that large. I mean, I know that's a singular, you know, and how many really bad days are there, you know, there's not even really one a year for us. I mean, you know, like that, that you have, you know, snow and really untenable conditions, but still I'd like to have something to guard against it. So, you know, if costs were no object, retractable roof would have been what I would have done. Plus, if you had a retractable roof and you're playing Miami in the AFC championship, the discuss, right, whether to leave the roof open.

The tactical advantage to leave it open now, no discussion, no choice. Does the league let you do that? And I got right. I don't know who gets to decide, right? Does the league have any sale? The home team's choice. I mean, the AFC championships are pretty good ticket. Maybe it's a little bit of a different crowd than a regular season game. Yeah, maybe that crowd more likely want to, you know, be warm and not, you know, yeah, you get it. Well, I wonder like how, I mean, anything can tilt it, right? So everyone's paying more. It's the first time we've ever experienced personal seat licenses. And so that's that's more of an investment than you've ever had. And then the tickets are more expensive than you've ever had on top of that. And so now if you're in a spot where it's not covered and you're paying more like that probably grows some sort of level of aggravation.

Because spending more should be more comfortable. And if I'm as uncomfortable as I would be in a blizzard at the old stadium, then what am I doing here? But again, the majority of the seats are protected from the elements to some extent, right? So, I don't know, I would have I would have liked to retractable roof. I guess if the choice is though, I'm I guess I'm fine with what they did. And come on Miami in the AFC championship. I mean, you know, in a few years, maybe, maybe it's been 34, I believe. 1992 against Buffalo. I think would have been the last dolphins appearance in the AFC championship. No playoff wins since 2000. The Lamar Smith game is their last playoff win 2000. I'm eager for some, you know, dribs and drabs details on the new place and what eventually might be planned for it.

I mean, is everybody going to want to be there like all the anybody who's ever led the charge? That's right, isn't it? We'll want to be, you know, some sort of a 2011 Sabers ask alumni feature, maybe something like that. Yeah, I wonder, I wonder if they do that if they have just an event that is really that. Sort of, you know, use the phrasing soft open, but you know what I mean, like not have it be a marquee event, but just something to sort of get familiar with it. Or maybe you do that sort of thing with the alumni, like you're describing at a preseason game. I don't think you wait until September to do something like that. You probably do it in August. Yeah, it is a bit of an anticlimax with the preseason, you know, just like it was a rich stadium. Yeah. Did you say, if you said you went to one of those games? No, no idea. I went to, I went to a bill's bangles in 73 in the regular season, but that was like middle of the season.

A Monday night. No, no, no, it's a Sunday afternoon. Yeah, I really got this story. You're doing, you're doing great. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, the preseason, they probably normally would have two preseason home games when you're playing the extra game on the road. Oh, that's okay. I think you would play an extra game. Okay. And like that's the beginning, if there isn't something else before that, I mean, that's the first bill's event. And the second, you know, probably won't compare, won't be remembered like the regular season, obviously. But the regular season opener, home opener will really not be the first football game in there. Lead the charge. Pete Metzellars. You've been in touch. We'll be on the show next week. Right. Right. He was doing some work for Sumer sports. I don't know if that he does like officially, if he has like a job there or what exactly. But I saw a clip of him analyzing a tight end for Sumer sports. I'm like, this is good. We should reach out.

And we have a listener who knows him. So put us together and works out pretty well for us next week at some point. Good. Good. Good. Pete Metzellars, who I can still see running to the end zone at candlestick park on a 50 yard touchdown pass. One of those plays that is just like not what you're expecting. You just not expecting the ball to go to that area to feel to that guy and watch him run unencumbered to the end zone. It was one of those like, oh my God. It's a great highlight. That's really happening. Right. I mean, nothing against Pete, but he was not, you know, he's not known as a seamstretcher. They didn't really use the term yak in those days, but he was not a yak specialist or rack specialist. Yeah. No. Mike Schopen, the bulldog here 803 05 50 for your calls. This is W.
