Shoplifter Nabbed for Third Time, Jailed

For the third time, Ryan Keely walked in, stuffed a bag with goods and headed out, but police pulled up right then after a staff alert. Officers spotted him immediately and gave chase on foot, nabbing him just moments later. CCTV captured the whole thing, along with statements from store workers. Keely already had a rough record there, including two prior thefts, a breach of his criminal behavior order, and a warrant for prison recall. Prosecutors built a solid case with the evidence, charging him with three counts of shoplifting and three breaches of the order. The next day at Bromley Magistrate's Court, he was convicted and got 16 weeks behind bars. Metropolitan police leaders say this shows their push against repeat retail thieves, praising quick work by new recruit officers to protect shops and neighborhoods.
