Shane Blakeney Joins Gamecocks, Boosting SEC Defense

0:00On April 21st, South Carolina just locked in a key addition to their squad with Drexel Wing's Shane Blakeney, committing for his final college season, under coach Lamont Paris. This Rock Hill native grew up playing grassroots ball in Columbia and Spartan Bird, then balled out for three years at Drexel in 88 games, earning second team all conference honors last year. Blakeney averaged 14.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists over 33 games, logging 33 points. Seven minutes each time, and he's bringing that lockdown defense to the game cocks. He wants to be the top perimeter defender in the SEC, taking pride in disrupting plays with his length, while playing free on offense coach Paris Seas. Him fitting perfectly into a tough winning blueprint. The team already snagged three other transfers.
