Seward Seahawks Win Back-to-Back State Championships

0:00Here's more Anchorage news from March 15th. The soared high school girls basketball team just made history with back-to-back too. A-Stay Championships, the first time ever for the program. They beat Glen Olin 42-26 on Saturday 9th at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage. That victory wrapped up a perfect undefeated season at 29 wins and no losses. Facing the same opponent from last year, the Seahawks took control early and never let up. Their defense was the key. Holding Glen Olin to just 26 points while grabbing every loose ball. Coach Curtis Berry admitted he never expected a repeat at the start of the year, but the team stayed focused game by game. The players held each other accountable and half the town of Seahawks showed up to cheer, boosting their energy through the tournament. Senior Ava Jageelski led with 12 points to earn player of the game honors. She also reached 1,000 career points in the first quarter, with her family celebrating right from the front row.
