Severe Weather Batters US, Causes Chaos

Heavy snow and strong winds are making roads nearly impossible to travel in the upper Midwest, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Meanwhile, Hawaii deals with ongoing flash flooding and severe thunderstorms with possible tornadoes are expected to ramp up later today across the US, mid-South. In the upper Midwest, some areas have already seen over 20 inches of snow, with even more piling up toward two feet in spots from central. Wisconsin to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Transportation crews warn of low visibility and slick highways getting worse through the day. Folks there are hunkering down. Snowplow operators call it one of the toughest storms in years, stacking snow as high as their trucks. Families have stocked up on supplies and planned to stay put, while over 600 flights got cancelled at Minneapolis St. Paul Airport alone, with hundreds more at Chicago and Detroit hubs.
