Hey there everybody, I'm Jordan Hansen, host of Daybreak Devotions, Simple Truths for Complicated Times. I am not afraid to admit that I am a Star Wars nerd. I love it. I've loved it since the first time I saw the Return of the Jedi on Network Television. My dad recorded it on the VCR and I absolutely wore that tape out. So when a prequel trilogy came out in 1999, I was all in on that as well. In the third movie, The Revenge of the Sith, we see Anakin Skywalker finally succumbing to the dark side of the Force and he squares off with his close friend and mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi. If you know anything about Star Wars, you know that Obi-Wan had the high ground and Darth Vader was born.
Anakin was supposed to have been the chosen one and yet he turned into the most feared villain in the galaxy. If you've ever sat through a children's Sunday school, you probably learned that Lucifer was an angel in heaven and yet there was something in him that was corrupt. He rebels against God and now we know him as the adversary Satan. The Bible says in Isaiah 14-16, everyone there will stare at you and ask, can this be the one who shook the earth and made the kingdoms of the world tremble? Satan is running rampant through the earth. He's prowling around like a hungry lion seeking those he can destroy. There may be times where he seems as though there's nothing beating him and yet we have more than enough power to defeat him. Just like when Luke Skywalker defeated Vader and removed his helmet, we see Anakin old and frail. When Jesus returns, we will see Satan for what he really is, an old, weak, powerless
worm. We will stare and wonder why we ever allowed him to bother us. That's who's been bothering us? The power that lives on the inside of you is more than enough to make an open show of the devil. We'll give him more power than he has, which is none. Stand up to him like you would a bully. He'll have no choice but to back off because he knows who your father is. And remember, God's not the problem. He's the answer. Hey folks, thanks for listening in. We hope you enjoyed today's episode and if you're ready for a breakthrough, join us again tomorrow for another daybreak devotional.
