Emergency services launch the operation Tuesday evening when the man got into trouble in the water. Officials are using all available resources to find him. The effort paused at 8.30 pm as darkness set in, but picked back up at first light Wednesday morning. Water police boats, jet skis, drones, and helicopters are now covering the area offshore. Witnesses spotted the swarm of struggling and tried to assist, but rough conditions made it impossible, and they soon lost sight of him. Local surf life savers have joined in to support the water police. Beaches across the goal coast remain open to the public. Officials are stressing safety, urging everyone to stick to patrolled areas between the red and yellow flags. The multi-agency operation continues with no new sightings reported yet.
