Seahawks Sign Emanuel Wilson, Boosting Backfield Depth

0:00On March 12th, the Seattle Seahawks have signed their first running back since Kenneth Walker was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs. A manual Wilson, a former backup with the Green Bay Packers, agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $2.1 million. Wilson started as an undrafted free agent from Ford Valley State. The Denver Broncos signed and then waved him quickly, but he caught on with the Packers and earned a spot on their 53-man roster as a rookie. Over the past two seasons, he racked up 998 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 228 carries. His best game came last year when he started for the injured Josh Jacobs, gaining 107 yards and two scores against the Minnesota Vikings. One memorable low point was also, versus the Vikings, and what became one of the funnier plays of the season. Importantly, Green Bay didn't tender him as a restricted free agent, making him unrestricted and sparing Seattle from any compensatory pick issues. This moved bolsters the Seahawks backfield depth as they gear up for the new season.
