Running back Kenneth Walker III won't get the franchise tag, and wide receiver and return specialist Rashid Shaheed is entering free agency. After talks for an extension fell through. Shaheed joined the Seahawks midway through the 2025 season. The 27-year-old started his pro career as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints after playing at Weber State. General manager John Schneider saw Shaheed's move coming. He noted that the player and his representatives had already been shopping his skills on the open market for more than a week. Shaheed delivered one of his best seasons yet. He excelled on special teams with 23 punt returns for 339 yards and a touchdown plus 15 kickoff returns for four. 147 yards and another score. He also posted career highs with 59 catches for 687 yards and 69 rushing yards.

Teams needing a dynamic wide out who can also handle returns will pursue Shaheed hard. His next deal will depend on the offers that come in during free agency.
