Seahawks Lock in Strong Special Teams Core

The Seattle Seahawks just won their second Super Bowl in franchise history and a big reason was the turnaround in their special teams' union during the second year under head coach Mike McDonald. Last year in 2024, that group struggled so much that fans were demanding the firing of special team's coordinator Jay Harball and everyone washed waivers closely for upgrades. Heading into the 2025 offseason, the team smartly signed veteran special teamers to cheap one-year deals near the league minimum, like DeAnthony Bell, Chas Serrat and Eric Salbear who all ranked high in snaps played. Those moves paid off big, leading to mid-season extensions that kept Salbear around and a new deal to bring Bell back for 2026. Now the latest news says Serrat is resigning too. After logging over 700 special teams, snaps across his time with the Jets and Seahawks.
