General manager John Schneider has a light history with tags, using them just twice in his tenure. The first came back in 2010, on Kicker, Orlando, Mayor, and the second in 2019 for a tag and trade deal involving Frank Clark with the Kansas City Chiefs. Seahawks fans saw this coming, given the team's approach to contracts, they avoid overpaying and let key players chase top dollar on the open market. Walker just wrapped his strongest year yet, staying healthy all season and shining in the playoffs after an injury to back up Zack Sharbanay. Running backs like Walker often get undervalued due to the position's physical toll and shorter careers, but he proved vital to the offense. He took heavy carries, supported quarterbacks Sam Donald, through the late season in playoffs, and even earned Super Bowl 60 MVP honors.
