On April 30th, the Seattle Seahawks turned four draft picks into eight players in the 2026 NFL Draft, mostly late round guys whose impact is still up in the air. General manager John Schneider loaded up on defensive backs, a running back, an offensive lineman, a wide receiver, and a nose guard, but skipped edge, rushers and inside linebackers entirely. That move spells good news for current linebacker Tyrus Knight, who's locked in at that position. No new, off-ball linebacker came in through the draft, or free agency to push him out, so the team clearly sees him as a key piece in the inside. Linebacker room and on special teams Knight had a rocky start last season, getting benched after week three due to missed tackles in the first couple games. Something head coach Mike, McDonald doesn't tolerate from his linebackers, but he bounced back strong in week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals when Drake Thomas got hurt, proving he belongs on the roster. Thomas holds one starting spot next to Ernest Jones right now, but his own tackling slipped

to 17.1% misses in 20. 25. Worse than Knight's 6.7% from 2024. Both guys sharpened up late last year, showing they can handle the job. With no backups waiting in the wings, Knight and Thomas got a ball out alongside Jones in 2026 if the Seahawks want to repeat as super, bowl champs. On them to step up and own that front 7.
