Seahawks Face Tough Decision on Walker

He led the team in rushing during the 2025 season and earned Super Bowl most valuable player honors, the first for a running back sense. Terrell Davis back in 1997, teens and fans often undervalue the position these days, thinking any backup can step in without a drop-off. The Walker's blend of speed and power set him apart, averaging 4.6 yards per carry, which forced defenses to adjust and opened up the rest of the offense. Back-up Zack Sharbinet is solid and tough, especially in short yardage spots, but he averaged just 4.0 yards per carry. Super Bowl champs over the last eight years usually rely on a top pressure hitting at least 4.5 yards per attempt with few exceptions. Finding that big play threat could hurt, much like how the chief struggled when their running back dipped below 4 yards per carry in recent seasons.

1:03General manager John Schneider likely has free agents or draft picks in mind to pair with Sharbinet. Finding another runner with Walker's rare skills won't be simple, so the Seahawks might need to invest more to keep their ground game humming strong.
