Seahawks Eye Vikings' Greenard for Edge Rush

But a trade target has emerged in Minnesota Vikings' edge rusher, Jonathan Greenard, who's now available as the Vikings' scramble for Capralief. Minnesota sits $45 million over the salary cap, and Greenard carries a cap hit of just over $22 million for each of the next two seasons. Trading him would free up serious space fast. He's a solid versatile player, who pressures quarterbacks well and holds up against the run, putting up 12 and a half sacks with the Houston Texans. In 2023 and 12 more, in his first year with the Vikings last season, Seahawks fans would love this fit, especially if Mafe gets pricey elsewhere. 1:01the run too. Lawrence has been a three-down guy forever, but with no guaranteed money left on his deal, he could walk away. Greenard slots right into new coach Mike McDonald's scheme, taking those key reps. Trade talks are early, and what Minnesota wants back remains unclear. A first round pick seems too steep, and Seahawks only has four total selections in the 2026 draft, with just one beyond the third round. General manager John Schneider might hesitate to deal that third rounder, and leave the team thin on picks. Still, if the price drops right, Greenard could stabilize Seahawks front for years and give the Vikings breathing room to rebuild their roster.
