Seahawks Eye Jennings for Passing Game Boost

The Seattle Seahawks are preparing for wide receiver Rashid Shaheed to possibly hit free agency after trading for him from the New Orleans Saints, right before the deadline. With their offensive coordinator Clint Kubieck, now heading to the Las Vegas Raiders, Shaheed could follow him there, or land elsewhere this offseason. It opens the door for the Seahawks to pursue San Francisco 49ers wide out, Juan Jennings. Their new offensive coordinator Brian Flurry just came over from the 49ers where he coached tight ends and coordinated the run game while working closely with Jennings. Jennings, a severed-thrown pick out of Tennessee in the 2020 draft, has turned into a reliable starter. Last season, he played 15 games, hauling in 55 passes for 643 yards and 9 touchdowns. The year before that, he posted 77 catches, 975 yards, and 6 scores.

He's not just a solid pass catcher, but also a tough blocker who would strengthen Seattle's run-heavy attack under Flurry. Meanwhile, the Seahawks aim to mix in more 49ers-style schemes to boost their passing game and stay competitive.
