His obituary called it a sacrifice on duty, and he got buried in a top cemetery. Then their space expert Zhang Xiaoshin, in a December 2024 wreck, plus others in microelectronics and hypersonics. Stateside, retired Air Force General William Neil McCaslin, vanished February 28 from New Mexico, ditching his phone and glasses, just packing a pistol.

Others include NASA Materials Director Monica Jacinto Reza, Gone Hiking Last June, and Los Alamos Staff, like Anthony Chavez and Melissa Cassius. Folks are spooked by the timing and fields involved from rocket metals to nuke parts. Lawmakers see a national security red flag, especially since patterns kicked off around 2023. Now Congress is pushing the FBI, Pentagon, NASA, and Energy Department for full probes, with oversight chair James Comer calling it potentially, sinister. Officials say they're digging in, but no word on foul play yet, could be coincidence or something deeper brewing.
