School Bus Crash Averted in Cullman County

Just after the announcement, a school bus guy rear ended by another vehicle on Highway 157 between Coleman and West Point. Luckily, no students or drivers were hurt in the crash. Officials quickly moved the students to a different bus to finish their ride home safely. The early dismissal came less than an hour before the incident, as snow started falling heavily in the area. Parents and school staff breathed a sigh of relief, knowing everyone was okay. This happened during a busy time with flurry sticking the air, but it highlighted how even clear roads can lead to unexpected trouble. Reporters on scene noted snow piling up on grass and trees nearby, yet the pavement stayed dry with no ice buildup. State road crews said temperatures were warm enough that they did not need to treat the highways. Crews are still watching the weather closely around Coleman, but so far roads remain safe for travel with the snow starting to melt a bit.
