Scheyer Ties Stevens, Blue Devils Roll On

This came in a dominant 93-64 road win over NC State on Monday night, keeping the top-ranked Blue Devils rolling. Shire, now 38 years old, took over from Mike Krzyszewski before the 2022-23 season and has posted an impressive one. 117 wins against just 24 losses. That gives him an 83% winning percentage, even higher than Krzyszewski's 78.5% over 42 years at Duke. Back in his playing days, Shire helped Duke win the national title in 2009-10 as the starting point guard, beating Stevens' butler, team in the championship game during Stevens' third-year as coach. It's a fun twist that Shire's now matched that mark. The Blue Devils sit at 28-2 overall. 16-1 in the ACC on a 7-game win streak.
