Schefter's NFL Draft Intel: Commanders' Pick 7

He used to hide Notre Dame running back Jeremiah Love as their perfect fit, but now he's saying number 4 to the Tennessee Titans might be that. Guy's floor instead. Earlier this week, Schaefter sketched out a top of the draft, where Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza goes number 1 to the Las Vegas Raiders. That sets the stage for Washington GM Adam Peters to pivot based on how the board shakes out. Fans and insiders are buzzing about Schaefter's short list for the Commander's Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate. Safety, Caleb Downs, and LSU. Cornerback Mansour to Lane. Tate and Downs could slide off the board early, but the Lane looks like a lock to still be there, even after Washington already invested big in corners the past three years. The team has a deep list of five or six guys, Peter's likes, with one or two as top targets.
