Saved by Remembering

0:00Welcome to His Light, Your Path, with Pastor Rod Holler's Senior. Today's devotional is titled Saved by Remembering. Pastor Holler takes us to 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 1 to 2, where Paul encourages us to keep the gospel at the center of our lives. He will show us how remembering the truths of the gospel isn't just for our future, it's how we find direction and strength for each day. 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 1 and 2. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received and wherein you stand, by which also you are saved if you keep in memory what I preached unto you unless you have believed in vain. In this passage, Paul is addressing believers.

1:00Moreover, brethren, so he is teaching born-again people. Paul had taught them the gospel in the past. They believed the gospel, hence they were saved. Their spiritual status was that they were saved and they're in they stand. Thus Paul is addressing save people and they stand in that condition. But verse 2 seems to teach that salvation can be lost if the believer fails to remember what he has been taught. Let us read again. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you which also you have received and wherein you stand. Verse 2, by which also you are saved if you keep in memory what I preached unto you unless you have believed in vain.

2:00Let us keep the context clear. Paul is addressing saved people. Their spiritual status is that they were saved. Then Paul said there is more to their Christian life note the word also in verse 2 by which also you are saved if you keep in memory what I preached unto you unless you have believed in vain. In verse 2, Paul is telling these believers to remember their salvation and the other things that Paul taught them. By remembering their salvation and the other teachings from him they will be saved from the problems of life not saved for eternal heaven. That salvation of the soul was already established. Now Paul addresses the problems that they will experience in daily living.

3:00If they will remember their salvation then that spiritual mindset will help them to avoid or be saved from many of the problems of life caused by the failure to obey the Scriptures in daily living. Let us read this passage with comments. 1 Corinthians 151, more over brethren, born again people. I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you which also you have received and wherein you stand. These people have received the gospel and they are in they stand. By which also there is more for them. You are saved if you keep in memory what I preached unto you. Comment, believers are to take in the word and allow it to have an effect on their lives unless you have believed in vain.

4:01Comment in other words the Bible truths are of no benefit for the forgetful believer in daily living. The key to these verses is that Paul is addressing believers. They have received the gospel and they are in they are secure because salvation cannot be lost. But God wants believers to apply themselves to righteousness in daily living. If they do, then they will be saved from many problems in life. That wraps up today's devotional saved by remembering with Pastor Holler. We heard how Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians chapter 15 to hold on to the gospel and reflect on what God has done for us.
