Save Fitzrovia Centre's Lifeline Service

This free program has supported vulnerable residents and canton and Westminster for nearly 50 years with multi-lingual help on benefits, housing, debt, and fuel property. It operated from a spot in Tottenham Street for decades until that closed in June 2019. The service bounced back as a phone and email option in January 2021, then shifted to the Foley Street Center this year through a new partnership. Local leaders stress how vital it is, preventing evictions, sorting benefits, snags, easing debt burdens, and aiding folks hit by rising energy bills. For many facing insecure homes, disabilities, or mental health struggles, it means the line between getting by and falling into crisis. Funding has dried up again, leaving the charity short despite some new backing. They need 12,000 pounds fast to cover two advice workers, set up needs, and basics for the next three months during this handover.
