Experts point to San Francisco International Airport as a success story, handling huge crowds as one of the busiest hubs without the usual shutdown. Headaches. It worked fine during last year's long shutdown, too. The TSA union strongly opposes expanding this model, warning it could cut worker protections, benefits, and uniform security standards set after.
