Saints' Offensive Line: Pregnon as Top Draft Target

The New Orleans Saints have gone all in on their offensive line this offseason, drafting

four starters in the top 48 picks and signing free.

Now, draft experts are linking them to Oregon Ducks guard Emmanuel Pregnant as a prime

target at their number 42 overall pick in the upcoming.

Pregnant's stock is rising fast, with projections placing him between picks 25 and 42.

He's drawn interest from teams like the Cowboys, Vikings, Bengals, Texans and Seahawks, all

needing interior lineman help.

The Texans picked twice in that range, at 28 and 38, Seattle, at 32, and Cincinnati, right

before New Orleans at 41.

Fans and analysts see Pregnant as a perfect fit after his standout college career, moving

from Wyoming to USC and then dominating at Oregon.

He allowed just three sacks in over 1,800 pass blocking snaps and excels in run blocking,

especially inside zone schemes that match the Saints' offense under Kellan Moore.

On the Saints' line, tackles Kelvin Banks Jr and Tally S. Fuwaga are set, with Edwards

at left guard and Eric McCoy at center.

Right guard Cesar Ruiz has struggled, carrying the team's second highest cap hit of 14.19,

$66 million, without a restructure.

Pregnant could challenge him there, slide to center back up, or even see Ruiz shift positions,

or get moved, post June 1st to save cap space.

While nothing's certain with so many teams ahead eyeing him, bolstering this line remains

key for New Orleans to push forward next season.
