Students in fields like Nursing, English, and Pre-Law will get hands-on experience using IBM's skills build platform right in their coursework. This means earning industry-recognized certifications and building digital portfolios as part of degree requirements. The push aims to prepare graduates to hit the ground running in jobs where AI is everywhere. Students are embracing the change. One senior who once saw opening an AI tool in class as cheating now serves as a program ambassador. She's using it to customize projects and handle routine tasks, arguing it, frees people for more important work. University President Jim Burkey, six months into his role, says grads will walk into interviews certified and ready to apply AI in their professions. He compares it to micro internships tailored to each field.
