Their latest win came Sunday against the Tampa Bay Lightning, an 8-7 thriller full of fights that put Buffalo at the top of the Atlantic. Earlier this month, a popular hockey TV show mocked the Sabers as the league's punching bag, but that seems like a reverse curse now. With just 18 games left, they are on track to snap a 14-year playoff drought and make some noise in the postseason.
