鄭如晴除了創作，目前也兼任世新大學教授，主講台灣現代小說的課程。曾在德國生活七年，期間開始寫作，回國後擔任國語日報副刊主編，為了精進兒童文學能力，46歲考上台東大學兒童文學研究所。
