S13E10. "Grandma's Basement" AKA One Last Time

For the final time, from Grandma's basement. That's that. Yeah, this is the final recording of the second-ever studio for IW Guide. I'll officially be a homeowner starting tomorrow. And I will have my own personal office. So you're going to have a studio set up or are you going to put it all in one spot with all your collectibles and everything? Is everything going into one space? Yeah, my office will also be like my area with my collectibles. Like, remember how I had all my stuff before? Yeah, similar. Similar. I'm going to have all my figures up on the wall.

1:00I'll have, I'm going to get, my buddy is going to sell me a couple of his detox. So I can put all my belts in my detox and stuff like that. So I might have some other stuff up in the meantime until I get those. And then my photos and stuff of everybody I've interviewed or that I'm friends with. I did the detox thing. When we moved in, I was looking for detox and I put out on that Facebook by nothing. And I ended up finding two of them. Somebody down the street from us was giving them away. So yeah, I ended up picking them up and driving them back to my house, which was good. Yeah, my buddy that was a Cleveland. He has, he sold a couple and he's going to get rid of some stuff and sell. So he said he was going to sell a couple more. And I was like, well, let me know when you do because I want them. So yeah, the ones I got ended up like the doors are always so wonky on these things. It either snaps really hard and shakes everything in it. So like I don't always open it up. I'm just like, you know what, fuck it. I don't need to touch anything in there. It's never coming out. But at least I got them. So there's a place to like, you know, put things.

2:00Yeah, I'm looking, I've been looking on Facebook Marketplace. I think I found a love seat that I want. And I found a washer and dryer. So. So how much furniture do you have to buy? I literally have a chair, which will then just go into my bedroom and become a cook chair. So. Wait, so there was nothing else in your house you wanted to take with you. Like the couch and stuff was my cousins already called dibs on the one couch that's down there because it's super old. It's wood. It's it went fit my what I want. I just want a love seat that has like the separator in the middle that reclines. That's all I need. What's that thing they sell? I've seen on like TikTok. It comes like zip. It comes like completely vacuum sealed and you open it up and you got like a whole love seat out of it. Yeah, I've seen those. They don't last. I'm a big guy that that shit would last me like two months. I'd be late on the floor instead. We already had to we have a couch in our in our family room and it's less. It's been five years and I'm already buying the planks that have to go underneath the, because I sit in the same spot.

3:01It's completely done. Like it's just a spoon at this point just from my stupid ass sitting in there all the time. So speaking of people sitting in the same spot, I was I just made me think of your brother. And I was watching this Tom Hanks movie last night with the religious one with the thing. How was it where like you have to figure out the code or whatever? Oh, Da Vinci code. Da Vinci code. Yeah, yeah. I was watching that and the villain and that had a nice little thing that he was had wrapped around his thigh that he was twisting. That's where he got it from. That's where he got it. It is. No, it is for real. That was the whole thing. It's an opus day monk. He's an opus day monk. He's a bad guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yep. I saw that. I was like, saw a bitch. Yep. Now you now. Now you're learning. That's that. Yeah. So.

4:01Well, I saw Project Hill Mary last week. I heard it was really good. Everybody said it's awesome. Fucking awesome, by the way. Doesn't seem like I wait till it's on my suit when I watch it. I don't know. You got to see it in like I saw it in IMAX and it was so worth it. You got to see it in IMAX. But it's it's finally something that it is. If you don't take kids to it, it's a great adult movie. If you take kids to it, you can turn it into a great kids movie. There's nothing bad about it. Nothing. It's one of those movies where you're like, oh my God, there's I can't hate on this at all. There's nothing to hate. But I did finish the bone temple yesterday. And I was very sad, by the way, it ended because I hate ambiguous open-ended movies where you don't know if the lead next one will be made. And it's like, come on. They already said they're making the third one. It was supposed to be made this month. And they never even went into production yet. So I'm like, come on, man. Don't show, don't show stuff like that with like tags at the end where you're supposed to wait. Well, I did it with the second one too. So I mean, it's. But they filmed them at the same time. That's why you knew that the second one was going to come out because they both, they filmed the first one,

5:04and the bone temple at the same time. And I thought bone temple was probably better than the first one. So. And I've been just catching up on things. I have my, I'm halfway through one piece season two. I just started Daredevil season two episode one today. Oh, it's good stuff. I watched it. I'm going to have to watch it again. I was going to preoccupied. I've been doing the trading cards and skating all that. By the way, they look amazing. Thank you. And I'm trying to like figure out how to get cards to people because I'm not going to see them for a month or two. So it's like, I got to like send cards with Zay. I got to like do all kinds of different stuff. Aren't you going to see Zay sooner than later? Well, yeah, I'm going to see him Sunday, but I got to send cards with him because he's going to see like Bishop. Oh, yeah. And then he can get Broner's cards to him. So it's like, I got to, I got to, and then I think I got to mail stuff back to me. So like, I got to get all that ready by Saturday because.

6:06I did be guided. It is a podcast, but it is be slowly becoming a card store, a card manufacturer. Yeah. And I got to, I got to do it. It's, it's me doing it all on the like all this special stuff on the back end by myself. So I'm like having a mess with it. So I got to tweak and get everything and just stuff. So I got all the cards sorted, that kind of thing. So it's now just a matter of getting what I need signed signed. And then we'll be ready to rock and roll. Series five won't be difficult because I'll see all them on 411, except for one person. And we'll see him soon. But then the, the one, all my heavy hitters, like I want to know when I'll see Dom. So I'm going to have to try to like meet up with him somewhere. Yeah. Broner. I'm going to have to, like I said, give the cards to say, Bishop is going to be at NAP. So I'm going to have C of Z. I'll get them signed by him there for me. And then I have to send them to Peapod.

7:07And he's going to mail them back to me. The ones that are signed. What, what, what wave is Peapod in? Four. He's with you. Yeah. All right. So four is, four is all heavy hitters, but it's also hard to meet up with all of them. So I have to like farm them all out to get them to them. So. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's great. And people seem to really have taken to the cards. And we're what? In the second round of the card tournament, the March Madness card. Yeah. Yeah. We made it to the second round. I'm hoping we keep going. I hope we go and defeat some WWE cards. That'd be cool. You know, some of the problems are, I have to see what are these other dumb cards are in this thing. And you have to like click in and like, look, it's just a pain in the ass. But we should win against, we should win the second round also. Our cards are great. Yeah. Honestly, it's available on Twitter. I'm going to have to send the link to the Facebook because we do have tons of people on there that would vote for us.

8:07And stuff like that. I know there's a section of our fans that don't go on Twitter. And I totally understand why. So I got to try to make sure I get on other sites as well. Because it says pool. Yeah. That's why. Yes. Did you see that, uh, the video of, uh, of Kyle from, uh, AEW, though, when he was like, like mocking what how, uh, Loki? Yeah. I was like, he's a dork just like us because like, that's so funny. I thought you were going to say, did I see the video of Alan Richardson beating the hell out of that dude? I didn't watch the video. I just saw like, the guy was like, I guess, cussing at him and stuff. And I was just like, why would you fuck it? To reach her like, he knocked Alan Richardson off of his fucking motorcycle while he was riding with his kids. Because he didn't like the fact that he was being loud and whatnot. And then average and just beat the piss out of this dude. It's so rewarding. I gotta tell you. Yeah. I mean, I'm sorry. I wouldn't fuck with the guy. Like, you see what he does? Like if he does his own stunts and shit, like he's, he's not one to fuck with.

9:09He is. He's like fighting. It's like wrestling a bear. I watched that man eat an Oreo out of his own ass. Like, I'm not going to fuck with that guy. Yeah. He's a big gigantic scary dude. And I don't care how loud his motorcycle is. It's really not bothering me that much. Right. So I was like, what the hell, man? Just let sleeping dogs lie. Why do you need to, what are you getting out of this? Like, there's no sense in it. But he was speeding up and down. He was going 21 miles an hour. Yeah. Oh, that's not speeding, brother. That's just, that's just a choice, right? Imagine waking up them where you're like, I am just, I've had it. And I'm going out there and I'm knocking Reacher off of his fucking motorcycle. Right. I just had it. Here we go. Move over Reacher. I don't know that these people are fucking idiots. And by the way, something good to laugh at, the Sandman fighting the invisible man on that talk. Yeah, I get jumped by the invisible man. Yeah, dude, that was rough. Outstanding that he is, that Sandman is doing it. Outstanding. I mean, if any, if you're going to wrestle your last match, I guess a bit, no better opponent

10:12than the invisible man. So at least you can't get hurt. I don't know about that. But I heard, I heard the invisible, the invisible man works pretty stiff. Yeah. Yeah. That's what that's what they've said. But I think it's hilarious that Janella is like always like right in the middle of it all. Every time he's got, he's going to put himself there. That's just how Janella is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That would be something like super popular and wrestling. Let me insert myself here so people know that I'm still around. Well, it's true. It's all true. It's all true. Yeah. Yeah. Well, good on him, I guess. Good on. Good on Janella. That's what it is. But. Well, you mentioned Naptown. And I'm very excited to see that, you know, you're starting to head into into that territory. Yeah. So like Naptown, I reached out to them back like right after their last show last year. Didn't hear anything from Jay Rose.

11:12And I was like, hi, and he's a busy guy's probably taking a break. Like, well, he'll pick back up and we'll talk. And then I said I'm like a thing when they first announced that they were coming back. Nothing. I'm like, okay. I was like, well, that's, you know, maybe I'll just have to go out there and like show face and like talk to him. And one on one and like make it happen. So I get to work today. And I check my messages. And I'm like, oh, fuck. I got like four messages on Twitter. So I go in and I look and two of them are from Jay Rose. And he's like, hey, I'll read it to you here. He's like, yo, if it's cool with y'all, we're going to have say defend the IW guy title in our prelims before the main card. If that's cool with y'all. And I was like, that's literally what I wanted to talk to you about. Yes, that's fucking cool with me. Right. Nothing could be cooler to be honest. I was like, if it's being filmed, can you please send me the footage? That's all I ask. He said, yeah, it's being filmed. And then he's like, I can't say anymore, but there's there's further discussion for further things.

12:13And I'm super excited for say to get the opportunities. And I'm super excited for the IW guy title to be defended in Indiana. So another state added to the list. Right. Yeah, that's great. Four states now, brother. I mean, it doesn't get much better. I mean, you're, you're literally now bringing it to another state, which is awesome. And you're, you're, I mean, it's getting this is your dream. I mean, I think it's great that it's getting noticed in other places. Yeah. I mean, it's, this is a promotional tool to get the name out there. Yeah. Just, you know, help, help young talent. And I think it's really cool too is, you know, I said they, they were talking about. Somebody, one of the people that's going to be in attendance at the show had had their parents taken by ice. And he was, you know, a student at the school. So like, he was going to get like one of the tickets that you could perk. You could like basically purchase tickets and like give them away to people.

13:16The kids at the school. And it was away for the kids to be able to come watch wrestling for free. And I was like, can I buy, you know, that kid his ticket to the show? And they're like, well, you can't buy his because it's already taken care of by us. But you, there's other people that would, you know, that if you want to donate tickets to, you can purchase tickets for them. So being the generous ship bag that I am, I donated seven tickets. So nice, seven GA tickets from my W guide. And I think that's what kind of put us back on his radar too of, oh, yeah, they're, these guys are here and they're doing good stuff and they want to help out. So let's reciprocate. So that's great, dude. That's great. Yeah. And it's, you know, it's, it's a good thing. Like I want kids to get into wrestling at that young age and, you know, if they can get into that and sort of do another shit, then fucking, how ya, dude? Yeah. I think, dude, good for you. That's, that's fantastic. And where is NAP located?

14:16In Annapolis. Oh, Indianapolis. That's the Indianapolis wrestling company. Interesting. Maybe you'll run into Kyle when you go to one of the shows. So, yeah, unfortunately, I won't be able to make this show this weekend because I'm moving. And that's like my big move day of Sunday. And I was like, some of a bitch, of course, that, you know, this, this falls in my lap. And I really want to go when I have to, I have to move. So, but there is a date in May. And I'm trying to figure out maybe to get a group of people together. From here and drive out because it is a five hour drive. So, maybe I'll drag Jay Hock along with me at least. And we'll make the drive out on us. It's a Saturday. And we'll hang out there. And maybe we'll get Kyle involved in some of the other main event guys to come hang out. That'd be very cool. Yeah. I like to hear that. That's awesome. That's exactly what you want. Speaking of main event. Yeah.

15:16I guess we'll break the news here because it involves the both of us. Yeah. We are doing another 24 hour mixer coming up. And during that mixer, we are doing the roast of Jay Gold. And I was asked to be the roast master. Yeah. And so I did accept. This wasn't my idea, by the way. It just came out of nowhere. It didn't come out of nowhere because we always pick on you. Yeah. Because you're the only one that has like thick enough skin to deal with it. Yeah. Yeah. And you just, you laugh at all of us with our goofy like insults at you. But I think people are going to really, they're going to pull the knives out now. Now that they know that they can go know holds barred on you. And it'll be just, it'll be fun as hell. And we'll see what happens. I can't wait. Wait till just all I'm saying is keep an eye on the, on the socials. And you'll see stuff pop up eventually. It's just we're right in the middle of making it happen.

16:17So we'll get there. Yeah. Yeah. There's, there's nothing official like the graphics or anything yet. Right. There'll be graphics. There'll be times so you know when to tune in and watch it. It'll be streaming across YouTube, Facebook, all that stuff. Correct. So we'll probably get us banned on a several of those. Let's see. I was not going to be happy about that. But yeah, that's coming along. So I'm excited for that. Plenty, plenty to go on. And we are, we are trying as we go to figure out, you know, what else is going to be on that stream, which is, I think it'll be, it'd be a lot of fun. So we'll see what's going on there. It should be with enough time that I should be able to do. Um, my, my collection tour. So we're going to find out. We're going to put those out. Yeah. So that'll be available. Um, yeah. So we're working on it. Excellent. So this isn't going to be a normal episode.

17:17I guess I should, we should have started off with this information because it is the last episode. Uh, we are recording actually Wednesday, like 11 o'clock at night right before this comes out. Yeah. Because we've had, uh, jingled had a death in the family. Uh, I've been so busy with like getting the new, excuse me, new job and moving and, and all this kind of stuff that it like, we just didn't have time to do stuff. Uh, so we're going to do our shout outs. We're not going to do what's on this weekend. But we are going to talk about, uh, gauntlet for the gold real quick. Yeah. Uh, give us a, just give, do a quick rundown. Some things we like to enjoy it on the show. Mm-hmm. Um, and things we didn't like, whatever like that. Uh, so we'll jump into, uh, shout outs. And then we'll, we'll jump into that. Yeah. So shout outs, uh, to Bigelmonger, uh, shout outs to Zach, who didn't know any of the stuff happening in my life because he doesn't go on Facebook, but his wife does. And his wife has been telling him all week about everything happening. So he messaged me today. It was congratulating me.

18:18Uh, and then also, uh, to Paul, uh, who I know is super excited for us, uh, doing stuff with naps. So, uh, and of course, Patty, who I got to see this past weekend. Hey, Patty, hope you're doing well. I will see you probably in the summer, but I'm, um, I'm hoping you're doing well and you, you can pass the time in between shows coming up with some other stuff to do. So. Yeah. Yeah. She, uh, she will get a Charlie butterside card. So I know she's excited. I sent her a picture of one sign. So. Oh, I didn't get her. Did you get her one of mine or no? No. Uh, not do that. No, I, I can get her one though. I have five. Okay. I can get her in. Yeah. All right. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, I don't know. I'll see her next this coming month anyway, because I'm going to go to the, uh, the screening of the documentary. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Is that this weekend? No. It's, uh, it's in like two weeks, two or three weeks. It's on a Monday. Oh, okay. So, like, I'm going to have to, like, I think it starts at like four 50, so I'm going to

19:18have to, like, try to, uh, leave work, uh, like as fast as possible on that day, because it's a Monday and get up to Cleveland. So. Yeah. That's going to be fun. I wish I could go to that. There's nothing I want to do more than see that, actually. I'd love to be sitting there for that. So I hope it gets out and we can buy it or something on, on, on, yeah, something. Right. Yeah. I would really like to be on or something. Yeah. I'd really like it to be on demand. I want to see that. I don't know. I saw it originally. I was in it. So I'm excited to, I'm sure it's just, uh, you walk in by type clip situation, but because I wasn't interviewed or anything. Still fun. Yeah. So. Yeah. All right. Let's talk all of it for the gold. Uh, I will say this was probably their best show of the year, um, so far. I, yeah. That's so far. I loved it. I loved every match on this, on this card. It's even Derek and man bear big kid versus, man, I'm happy justice. I enjoyed the whole thing.

20:19I think, um, um, I think it's awesome. And there were several matches that I really, really enjoyed the tag team going to match. I mean, the tag team fatal four way was great. Um, I mean, great. I, I really liked that Daniel Ryan and Alex Price was great. Um, I, I thought even Broner, um, in that match was, was fantastic. I, I just liked the whole show. There was not one match and it didn't feel long, even though it was three plus hours, uh, that, that I didn't like. I don't think I enjoyed the finish of the gauntlet at all just because you, uh, there was no, there's, there was no camera on that side. And, um, I don't know how much, I wanted to see some fresh blood when this thing, but, um, I kind of see where it's going, I guess, uh, in what direction it's going there with big Sam and Wes and, and, and, and Chuck and Eric. So, you know, I, I kind of see, it's telegraphing out, but I don't, uh, I don't care.

21:22I don't care for, for how the gauntlet ended. But, uh, I really, really enjoyed Alex Price, Daniel Ryan. I think that was probably the match of the night for me, uh, Broner and Shambosh. He was right there next to it. Um, yeah. And then I think Shambosh was awesome. The tag match was great. The four way with Mikey and Dom was great. Yep. I texted Broner, by the way, after that, and I said, did you lose weight? I'm like, you look shredded. Like he was, he, he, he looks like he, he took down a lot of that, a lot, a lot of his, uh, um, you know, a lot of that outer fat and looks great now. Like he has just shredded up. I thought you were talking shit, uh, and saying he didn't do a herkarana. Oh my God, I forgot to do that. Next time I will absolutely text him about that. But I thought he looked fantastic as far as his, his body looked great. Uh, yeah, I mean, he's, he's definitely, uh, just leaning out. I mean, you know, it's, it's overall, I thought it wasn't too bad. Uh, like I said, it was, um, like some of the earlier matches were my favorite

22:28and then it kind of, kind of like slowed into the gauntlet and then like, the gauntlet started getting down there and I was like, oh man, this could go. This could be interesting. And then it got down to, uh, uh, uh, Eric and Chuck. And I was just like, uh, and then West Parklee's music hit. And I was just like, triple, uh, I'm just like, why is the bad guy say, um, the only one I care about at this match? Like I like, I do like, uh, Eric Taylor, but like, fuck, bro, like, uh, you're not wrong. You're not wrong at all. Yeah. I, I didn't really understand it myself. I, I, I did not understand it. I, um, I was trying to figure out why I, I, I wanted to, I wanted a different ending. That's what I wanted. So I don't know. I just, you know, a lot of people in the crowd near me. Yeah. Yeah. And I, I don't know. How do we, I did see her buddy Nathan Zagura. Yeah. He was, uh, he was partying pretty good.

23:28So he was, he was pretty happy. Uh, I walked up and told him he said hi and, uh, stuff like that and it's good times. So he's a, he's a good man. I like Nathan Zagura. He's good to our show and, and, you know, it's just kind of how it is. So thanks Nathan. Thanks for always, uh, for being cool with us. We appreciate it. We really do. Um, yeah. I mean, I, I thought this was probably the crowd was hot. I thought this was, um, I thought this was probably one of their best, uh, you know, one of their best cards as far as every match on the card being, you know, I'm really solid all the way through. So yeah. I mean, it was, uh, I like that they did speed up the gauntlet that because it was just so long. The show was so very long. Well, I mean, I'm sure if you were there, yeah. Um, um, um, I'm sure if you were there, it felt long. I think, you know, being able to fast forward through like the, um, being able to, to go through the, um, intermission and, and kind of working on it.

24:34If I wanted to pace it up a bit on YouTube and made it a lot easier to watch, but I, I really thought that all the matches were, that nothing overstayed at all. I thought, I think sometimes you get matches like I was worried, Matt's and, uh, and Matt Justice was going to go like 21 minutes, but I think I did not. So, um, but everything else was very well. I was even worse. We got derricking man bear picking. I feel like that's a no win situation. I don't know how they get out of that. I feel like it's, it's no way like you, they're stuck for some reason in this space. You know what I mean? They had an opportunity, man. They had the best opportunity in the world was for them to drop it to MJ Santana and Jocelyn and they didn't fucking do it. Well, and I don't think there's going to be another time when it's good because now PME's feuding. If you saw the gauntlet, so it's like, oh, now they're going to feud. That was like the one team that could have possibly taken the belts off of them.

25:36What the fuck, what, what, like this four way are, are they going to, the winner's going to get a title match at the, you know, whenever they come back, I, I don't know what to see coming back in June, right? That's the next, uh, it's at the globe. That's not absolution. All right. May. May is the globe with the return of Nick gauge. All right, right, right. God bless Nick gauge. I'm, I'm hoping he, uh, I mean, he's got to be up there now. He's got to be close to my age. I think at this point, it's, it is, it can't, he's, he's, he's backed on the wagon. So that's good. Good. Good for him. He needs it. Well, that's going to do it for us this week. Yeah. Sorry about the super short episode, but it is what it is.
