Seattle Mariners prospect Ryan Sloan turned heads in his cactus league debut, just one day after Kate Anderson did the same. The 20-year-old right-hander, a second-round pick from an Illinois high school last year and ranked the number 33 prospect in baseball. Tossed one scoreless inning with no hits or walks. He struck out one batter on just 12 pitches, 10 for strikes. His basketball touch 99 miles per hour and his slider looks sharp too. Much like Anderson, Sloan stay poised, getting ahead of hitters and challenging them right away. Baseball experts quickly praised the outing. Analysts highlighted his pinpoint command, strong breaking pitches, and rising velocity as signs of a future top pitching prospect. Some even predict he could lead all arms in the minors within a year. In his first full pro season, Sloan made 21 appearances 18 at single A Modesto and three at high A Everett.
