The story follows teens who discover a secret alien invasion messing with their normal lives, all while dealing with school drama and family stuff. It's based on that classic 54-book sci-fi series from 1996 to 2001 by K.A. Applegate and Michael Grant, where kids morph into animals to fight parasitic invaders called Yerks. Fans love the books back in the day, and there was even a live-action Nickelodeon show that ran two seasons from 1998 to 2000.
