2:07review for round three. And unfortunately, the undefeated season, it is Red Rover. And I didn't finish on Sunday, no, I had actually finished on Friday night, unfortunately. Friday night 6pm as well with an enormous VC dropped on our head. I know that feeling when you're absolutely nail of VC and you know I'm probably not going to lose this weekend. It's one of the greatest feelings of all time, but my goal when it goes the other way, it's a huge kick in the dick. So you're beaten this week. We scored 822, which all in all, I'm not overly upset about. I will get to the details around that. But I lost, we still lost by 100 points as well. We lost to mixed shadow 2M929, one of the good fellers in our league. There's not many of them. A lot of assholes in there mixed not one of them unfortunately. And to be fair, I think throughout this season so far, this was round three. I think in the first two rounds, I think it's really fair to say I had got a little bit lucky with a few things falling my way in the first few weeks. Couple of injuries and poor decisions by the coaches. So it was probably about time I was due a bit of a bit of an unlucky moment. And it certainly came on Friday

3:12night. On the flip side, Mick to be fair, I think he's had a pretty unlucky start. I think he's got a pretty good team this year. And points just hadn't really fallen his way yet, got a little bit unlucky. So probably, probably a bit of the universe just realigning us here. So, yeah, first loss of the season, never happy to have it. But yeah, all in all, a lot of positives to take out of the week as a whole. We did make some moves on the way of a while last week. I remember if they got a feature on the show last week or not, but we took a couple of flyers. The first guy we got off the waver for a while. I was Lindsey Smith. I don't actually think we had recorded the podcast by the time we got Lindsey Smith last week. I was down to one front row. I just had Corey Horzburg, and that was it. Saul Lindsey Smith sitting on the waver wire. And I had a, oh, well, I actually didn't have a great pick. I was number nine over all. I'd be happy to take a little punt on Lindsey Smith. So I put in a waver for him sort of thinking at pick nine. He probably won't get to me. Thankfully, he did. And I just, you know, maybe it's going to be an outlier. We'll wait and see. But the first two weeks, he played 46 minutes and

4:15averaged about 38 points in base, which is very low for Lindsey Smith. Didn't make a heap of cents to me this week. 46 minutes in the average, 46 in base, which is sort of more so. I expect Lindsey Smith to be picked up a couple of attacking stats as well. So really happy to have him. We were a front row assured. I'm not sure if he's going to be the answer forever. Lindsey Smith. But when you have a look at him over the last few seasons, like last year, he averaged 63 points. If he can just get to 55 average, I'd be over the moon. He's a guy that we know he can pick up some tries. We know he can pick up some attacking stats. So yeah, pretty happy to have Lindsey Smith. He was one change. He came into the side. Very happy to have him. And then because we sort of our second front row forward spot was a bit of a rotating door. So far this year, which is sort of okay to do with front row forward because there are a lot of guys there. So for a guy like Lindsey Smith to land in our lap, I'm pretty happy with that. And if you can just keep up those, you know, 55 point scores, that'll be more than enough for me. When the Panther started to get some injuries and whatnot, some medals that maybe go down, it'll probably pick up some

5:17a few more minutes there as well. And I just think in general, like last year, his minutes, he averaged 54 minutes per game. I can't really see him staying at 45 for too much longer. And some games are she was knocking out sort of 65, 70 minutes. So yeah, really happy with Lindsey Smith. Glad to bring him on board. Sometimes you get those little opportunities and you need to take him. The other move that I made, which in hindsight, probably is an idea. I had Brian Kelly on my side, who's now starting for the Elz and we all know how good Brian Kelly is from a super coach point of you, just offensively. There's some big concerns. I can't really see Brian Kelly holding onto the spot. I do think that eventually, Penicini will come back in two to three weeks and take that spot off him. But I would have been really happy to have Brian Kelly in a paramedicide starting, you know, that we all know that him over the years, he's been like a 60 point sort of player. But we made a decision that, you know, as of last week, Brian Kelly was sitting behind Sam Ronnie and he was sitting behind Penicini. Some like, as a few injuries away, he's playing this week, which is an idea. We can have a look at his scores over the last few years. Last year,

6:18he averaged 56 points the two seasons before that he went 60 plus. So a guy that is very, very good super coach pedigree. I'm playing in a good team here for paramedicide as well, just offensively. There's just so many concerns. But we would have been happy to have him, don't get me wrong. I'm a little bit jealous. The guy that we ended up going for was Joey Walsh. Now, I think I mentioned on the podcast last week, we only have two halves, a concern at seven, strange at six. I think when Joey Walsh does eventually come into the NRL, I think it'll be in the five eight role for the Manly Seals. And I think you will see him get dual positions. So really happy to have Joey Walsh. He is still at time of recording. They've got their six man bench and he is the next guy off the bench. So I just reckon he must be getting close to playing. Hopefully the roosters can give it to Manly and maybe they make some changes and when Joey Walsh does, he will get dual because he'll be in the five eight. And I just think he's going to be a very good player. So yeah, they were the changes. We made the two guys that we brought in. Let's get stuck into the week that was because it was a bit of a roller coaster.

7:24I sort of gave myself a sniff, but then it all sort of went up in flames. So let's have a look. Round three, we kicked off on this episode. It's taking a long time. We kicked off on Friday night. Now, obviously, I was on the Hello Sport live stream for this one. I didn't get to watch this one as close as I would have liked, but it was very, very evident while swatching that my boy, Conor Tracy was having a very good game here. And I'm scoring 95 super coach points. He was unreal. Thought some of the things he did really well. You don't even get super coach points for, but 95 from Conor Tracy, obviously, fullback. We left pretty late. He started the season really well for me, Conor Tracy. So if he can be a 55 to 60 point fullback, I'll take that considering where I drafted him and whatnot. I also had no amount. 59 just kept doing the damn thing a great way of a way of a way in round one. Ethan Strange scored 56. All I needed from Stranging. Corey Hallsbrough 49, a little bit low for Corey Hallsbrough sort of expect him to be a 60 guy, a 60 to 65 every week. So 49 was a little bit disappointing. Publicly ruled out for the next

8:26two weeks, I think, one or two weeks. So Corey Hallsbrough should get some good minutes there back in camera this week. I think he'll bounce back. In this game, Mcpoiler, he had Locky Galvin who just came up with a 43. So, sorry, Galvin who got a 43 in Tom Starling who hit a 24. So at this point, I'm sort of thinking, okay, 43 in 24. So far, I've gone 95, 59, 56 and 49. So I thought, okay, I'm sitting in a pretty good spot and I haven't really had any of my stars yet. So I was feeling okay at this point, feeling myself a little bit, feeling good, starting. I looked down the barrel at 3 and 0 and looked down the barrel of poo being 0 and 3. And then I played golf on Friday afternoon, had a fantastic hour, sitting at the golf club, got a couple of brusquies, sat down and what's Tom Jenkins? Absolutely fucking fist me. Four tries, he scored and I'll be honest with you when I was watching the game. I didn't realise he had Tom Jenkins. I hadn't looked at his team that closely, got to half time and not only did I open my phone to find out I'm playing Tom Jenkins,

9:27but I opened my phone to find out that he had the vice captain on him, which is just an absolute stinger. Mick is a huge, enormous rooster's fan. I think he had probably identified that Mark Noong and I need to I say despises making tackles and staying on his wing. He's probably learned that the hard way. He also has Mark Noong and I need to I say in his team. So no doubt he's watched him very, very closely as a rooster's fan and a Mark owner. Unfortunately, Mark, he still did okay, he's got 50 points to spot how poorly played, but the big one was Tom Jenkins, vice captain, which obviously looked 268 points. So straight away, I'm sort of like, oh, this is not ideal. It didn't put me out of it by any means, but it would mean I would probably need a 100 plus score from a captain. So it did make life very, very difficult, very, very tough going there, but it was a great VC play. Tom Jenkins, a guy picked off the way for a couple of weeks ago, shout out to Kurt. I know you'll be listening. You're silly, can't dropping Tom Jenkins between

10:30round one team list and the weekend starting. I think he drafted him in round eight. So a real kick in the dick there. Hopefully we get to bring that up. Heaps this season. Yeah, Porta season there from Kurt. Not his first won't be his last, but we love him and a huge decision from Purti in the VC. So you've got to appreciate good super coaching when it comes your way. And that was a certainly a great example of it. In that game, I had Gussie Boye, Crichton, who scored a 58. We'll take that from Angus and Lindsey Smith, 56, my wayver, why pick up in the front row. Pretty happy with those two boys. We then moved to the Melbourne Storm game and the Broncos in this game. Michael had his A.E. of Tyron, we shot. Sorry, in that pentath game, he also had Paul Elmotti, who scored a 63. So that was his A.E. at the time, but he also had Wishing Inside, who came up with a 30. So that became his A.E. I had Grant Anderson to mate his Broncos, Dave Boo. I just like having Broncos outside back. Grant Anderson gets through enough work to make sure it's never a bed shit. And I just think if Reeswalsh has one of those days when he's on, you just want to have a little foot in that party. So unfortunately, this wasn't it. Grant Anderson with a 31, but I thought he played

11:35okay in this game. So hopefully you can hold on to his spot and score a few tries there. That we then moved to the Newcastle Knights game. That was on Saturday, the 3pm game, the Wars 38 to 12 over the night. I had Phoenix Crossland in this one, who came up with a 52. I also had Dom Young, who without all those attacking players and everything, is going to sort of struggle for the next few weeks. But we just know that he can score tries out of nowhere. Dom Young, he did make a line break in this one. So if you take away the line break, 28 points from Dom Young, he is sort of my punt every week in my draft team. But you know, Dom Young is capable of. He's having a very good season so far. He scored in the first two games. I say, you know, he's not going to score every single week. But yeah, he's sort of a guy I'm happy to have a punt on. So after, you know, having a score of 38 on the weekend, Dom Young at the moment is averaging 74. I think I got him in round 12 of the draft. So really happy with Dom Young, he is going to be a bit of a punty each week. But I'm really happy with the rest of my CDW,

12:36so I'm willing to do it. And we know the ceiling that he has. Phoenix playing the entire 88 hooker. 52 points absolutely unreal. As I've said with my spine, I got them all late. I sort of picked up the scraps late of spine. And whilst I haven't got the superstars, I'm pretty happy with how my boys are going in those positions. In that same game, Mick had Dill Lucas knocked out a 67. I think sort of par for the course for Dill Lucas realistically there. The next game was the Sharkies and the Dolphins. Dolphins obviously getting a big win. Neder has had any dolphins. I had Tray Fuller who didn't get on the field, obviously. I also had Teague Wilton who made his return. It looks like he's going to start this weekend. I think he's scored 19 in about 20 minutes. So that's okay from Teague. Hopefully he can lock down that left edge for 80 minutes once again. He probably won't be in my team every week unless the Sharkies have a great match up. But I think he's fantastic depth to have Teague Wilton. He's had to be a little bit patient. But that's okay. He had Jesse Raymond in this game. He knocked out a 41, which you probably hope a little bit more from Jesse Raymond. I had

13:39a hero who just refuses to get near attacking stats, which is doing my fucking head in. But the positive is that Kailater, he hasn't got a single attacking stat yet. He's averaging 53. So it's not the end of the world. That's sort of his floor. He scored 60 in this game. I think once those attacking stats do start to fall, a hero could become a serious fucking problem for people. At least that's what I keep telling myself at night anyway. So yeah, at this point, I was sort of looking at it going, okay, he's got a lot of decent players to come. If he probably has a 100 plus score, I'm in some trouble. But if they all just sort of hit their average and I get a 100 plus captain, I give myself a serious, serious sniff in this game. We then went to the Rabados and the Tigers game. I only had Kipis Paul in this one. 61 points in the wet. Pretty happy with that from KPP. The thing I was really happy to see, despite it being wet weathered footy, he had three offloads in this game. That's four offloads across the first two games. In Newcastle, he had 44 offloads in 44 games. I don't think KPP at any point had three offloads in a game for

14:39Newcastle. So in the wet, you see, he has got a license to play, which is why I drafted him. So exciting times for KPP. On the other side, Mick had Gerrall Skelton who got a 35. So probably after the back of last week, I imagine he got Skelton off the waiver wire. You probably would have hoped for a little bit more. But he gave me a little sniff, which was okay. We then moved to Sunday footy, the parameter eels and the dragons. My god, this was a tough day of football to watch. He sort of had things, some things go his way, some things go against him in this game, Mick. I think first one, Jack Williams, he scored 66 and a normal score. The German Hope Good injury obviously helped that a little bit. So Williams played some extra minutes, but scored a 66. But then he also had Ryan Couchman who was Sinbind. And honestly, when Ryan Couchman was Sinbind, I went, okay, minus 10, he'll play 10 less minutes. He came back on the field and I feel like he felt so bad for getting Sinbind. He just worked his absolute dick to the bone. Ryan Couchman came off the bench, got Sinbind and still scored 60. The bloke is an absolute freak. He'll be out for four weeks now.

15:39Mick actually made a trade during the week to bring Couchman into this side. So that's unfortunate for him. Going to miss the next four weeks, but it was a big play in our game, a huge score there. In that dragons game, I had my two right edge boys, Val Homes and Dan Atkinson. I had the VC on earlier in the week. So I put the VC on Val Homes and he had an absolute shocker, an absolute fucking shocker. Four errors. He was all over the place. He was very poor from an eye test. I'll tell you what the greatest thing about it was though. He was shithouse. He played dreadfully. He scored 80 Supercouch points. I am absolutely over the moon with that with Val Homes. So gives me a lot of hope heading into the future. Would I have rather in place best game? Yes. But when a guy has a shocker and scores 80, you know you've got something to fuck with there. So 41 in base. I kicked 19 points worth of goals. He had 28 points in a vading starts. Yeah. So his score so far this year, 54, 94, 80, averaging 76 points this year. Val

16:42his next few games, Titans, Cowboys, Manly, South Sydney. I love this draw over the next few weeks. I hopefully Val can produce for me. 80 was not enough. I probably needed a try from him and probably a little bit more realistically in the end. But yeah, Val scoring an 80 is my captain, Ackinson 47. I think he came out with one tri assist. But yeah, that combo, though, obviously Ackinson and Val had a shocker together on the weekend. But if that combo can keep developing, hopefully there will be more points there for me. Obviously with Val is my, you know, one of my top two picks, Ackinson probably becomes more valuable to me than to any other team. I was actually talking to a mate who offered me a trade this week. He was trying to give me Tana Boyd and I sort of went, ah, yeah, for what you want for Tana Boyd, it's probably not worth it for me. But I just made the point that's, you know, there's certain players that they might not mean a heap to other people, but to you because of the other players you have, it means a lot. So, you know, Dan Ackinson, he's not valued as like a top half back in Super Coach by any means.

17:43But because I've got Val Holmes, the guy that will feed him, his value is a little bit higher for me, if that makes sense. Um, you know, set to two, I'd probably value him a little bit higher because I have Val Holmes and it could be a double whammy there when they do well. So yeah, Ackinson going to stick with him for the year. Hopefully they start to win some games at football soon. And I just want to see him run the football a little bit more, Dan, because I think good things will come off the back of it. I'll tell you what, I turn the eyes to round four of the NRL season and I just think there's a couple of games this weekend that I think pretty short favorites win and I think with these six agains and everything going on, I think they are absolutely begging for some same game multies this week. I look at the roosters, the DCE Cup at Brookfowl, over Thursday night, early in the week, but I think DCE returns to Brookfowl and I think he really puts the shoe in demandly there. I love the roosters this one. I think there will be points and I think you can get some really good same game multies around the roosters. I feel the same

19:50about the New Zealand Warriors taking on the West Tigers over there in New Zealand. Luke, Metcalfe, Metcalfe, shout out to him. He returns this week. You've got the West Tigers without Jerome Lewye. I'll wait. I'll believe it when I see it that Adam Doe is going to play this weekend. I wouldn't be risking it. I love the New Zealand Warriors this weekend. Another one, I think there is a few anytime try scorers that are absolutely begging for it this weekend. Another game that I look at that I think exactly the same is probably the Canary Bulldogs and of course the Penra Panthers. I know Paramata have a good record against Penra, but they are just looking too good at the moment and Paramata. They did everything they could they could to lose that game last week. They were just lucky. They came up against the Dragons and then of course the same game multi-mechorid might be the Melbourne storm against the North Queensland Cowboys. They are asking for it. The Melbourne storm they could score 50 in that one given the Cowboys defense. Number of these games they are begging for same game multies and the best place to do it is on the Neds Up. He needed about 120 points so I think it might have been 150 points. So I was in a bit of curry especially in a game like that we expected to be high scoring. Healum Luky did his usual 63 super coach points. Very good draft pick this year. Keeney battled his way to 67 but the real dagger was Jackson Perdue, 115 super coach points. I had

21:57him in class so it sort of went from me cheering on Perdue to be quiet. To then as soon as I knew I was going to lose it was OK Perdue pound them into the fucking earth and score as big as your county ended up going 115. So Timmy has Keeney as he's captain in this game for classic so I was sort of happy to see Perdue go bigger than Keeney there but it did bring the curtains down on my game for the weekend. So Mick won this one 929-822. What I will say about my side just selfishly. You know when you have a look through my team this week the positive that I take away from it is that Conor Tracy scored a try in the first game. We didn't get another try for the entire weekend and we scored 822. So when you have those sort of moments when you're scoring 820s which is a pretty good score in our game without tries. I'm pretty happy with that. I think it was the fifth or sixth highest score in our draft league this week and as I said we didn't have any tries

22:59in that. So tries will come. We got CCWs. We got good players in their school plenty in the first few weeks but yeah I think it's a good opportunity to see what your sort of floor is and if my floor is 800s that will win me plenty of games. So with a few more attacking stats, a captain that actually you know explodes over the next few weeks at some point. I think we're sitting in a pretty good spot. I wouldn't say we got like the best team in the comp by any means. I think there's a couple of very good teams in my competition but I think we've definitely got a team that will feature in the top 8. The other big news is you know all the injuries that happened this weekend thank fucking Christ. We don't have any of those dudes. So the injuries hasn't really impacted us. You know guys like Jermaine Hopkud, Jerome Lewis Adam Dewey. There's one of the guys in our comps. Al, you're poor bastard. I feel for your brother. His halves Adam Dewey and Jerome Lewis. Grant Dewey's been named this week whether he plays or not. We'll wait and see. He's also got Jermaine Hopkud. So sometimes you just have those nightmare weekends. Got another fellow Steve who has just been absolutely battered from pillar to post this week. He's a Tom Chesterone. So he lost him. He's a Lassardi owner. He lost him. He is a Pena Haas owner. He lost him. He's a

24:06Britain Nicarona. He lost him this week. He's got Jeremy Marshall King, who's injured. Kim Kenneson's injured. Taylor May, who's injured. We'll pencene that's injured. So all these guys that he sort of just has to sit on his hands and wait for three or four weeks until these guys hopefully get back. Even that butcher isn't that butcher owner like Victor Adley's going to return over the next few weeks. Fuck knows what his minutes are going to look like. So yeah, a lot of people getting absolutely punched in the ass by injuries and suspensions and stuff. I don't fall into that category at the moment. So feeling all right. So yeah, good win by Mick. But the positive I take away is, you know, his team had a VC of four tries. My team and they scored one and you know, we got people a hundred. So if you just change that situation a little bit and we pick up a trial to hear it's a completely different game. So yeah, all in all, pretty happy with how the team's going despite a loss. Not panic stations whatsoever. This week will be interesting. The guy I'm playing Phil has a pretty scary side. He's got Tanner Boyd in there.

25:10Get this. He's got Tanner Boyd that he picked off the waiver wise before round one started. He picked him up because he had Jaden Campbell in his side. He was going to miss the first few weeks. Now he's essentially playing Tanner Boyd over Jaden Campbell. So his second pick is sitting on the bench for his first waiver pick of the year, which is just fucking wild. But it's the beauty of super coach. When you strike gold, it can be fucking pure. He's got some scary players in there. DCE going back to Manly is a big concern for me. I think he will score well. Tanner Boyd scares the shit out of me. Dylan Edwards. In this game, scares the shit out of me. Kelma to a lung. He's a guy that always worries me. I say I pop a laser guy that always worries me. See, he's got a pretty good side. Phil, not that I think the predicted numbers and all that sort of stuff means fucking anything. But he is predicted to have a big win here. So, yeah, for me, I'll probably captain Val Holmes in the last game of the week. Dragon's first times. And hope he does something there. Very rarely does Val play two bad games in a row. So hopefully, he can have a big bounce back

26:11there. Just with the way my vice captain sees structured, I've got two players that aren't playing this weekend. I have got Joey Walsh, but because the Manly Seagal's playing the first game, I can't look with him. And the other one is Jack Whiton, who's obviously on the buy. But my CTWs are a little bit awkward because Grant Anderson plays early. So I'd essentially, and Dom Young plays on the Saturday, three o'clock game. So, I don't really have too many vice captain options that I really like before those two guys play. And before I'd have to make a decision there. So, I'm kind of leaning towards right now. I put the VC on Angus Cried. And I do think the Roosters have a big game against the Manly Seagal's. Hopefully, Gussie Boyle can cross for a trial. So, and get me 90 or 100 that I can loop. But I have probably have to VC him just because if I VC anyone else, I can't really loop. Unless I, no, I can't even loop. Tray full of fuck me. Yeah, so I'm going to have to get Angus Cried and hopefully go big so that I can loop using Jack Whiton.

27:17But yeah, I think it's more than likely my captaincy will fall in the head of Val Holmes, which I'm okay with. I like the match up for him this week. I've brought him into my super coach tide. I think up there at Seabass, hopefully it's a dry track. They get to move the football and him and Arkansas and can put on a bit of a show. And Val Holmes can hopefully score well against his Titan side. So yeah, all in all, feeling okay, never good to lose a game, but with context, I didn't take the loss too hard. I think realistically, we could lose another two games or so. And I still really wouldn't be punished because we started to know. It's only good spot at the moment. We've got a couple of matchups over the next few weeks. I've just had a quick look at head at who I'm playing over the next few weeks. And we are a little bit lucky in that we play some of the guys with a lot of injuries over the next few weeks. So if we can get a win this week against Phil, that'll be unreal because he's got a pretty good side. We then take on Alan who's missing a heap of players, Jermaine Hopgud, Jerome LeLie, Adam DeLio, probably back by then. But yeah, he's copped a few injuries and probably in a pretty average spot.

28:19We then play Curty Boy who's doing okay. And then we play Steve who's also got a heap of injuries. So he should be getting some guys back by then. But it's probably a good time to play him realistically. So yeah, at the moment, I think we're in a pretty good spot looking pretty good. Hopefully we can snag him in this week. Then pick up a couple of wins against some guys with some injured players and probably some underperforming players as well. And then we'll be sitting in a pretty good spot. So all in all, really happy. Teams looking good, doing well, scoring well, the spot not going huge and in a good spot heading into next week. As far as the wave of y guys this week, we actually didn't pick up anyone. We didn't make any changes. I didn't really need to. When I look at my team, as it stands right now on my reserves, I got Teague Wilton returning from injury. Jermaine Walsh, so I just want to hold him for two weeks and see what happens, because if he gets that jewel, he'll be enormous for me. My fifth choice, like reserves, CTW is Jack Wharton. He's doing pretty good this year. I just, I like the way that he's asking to

29:21attack that move the boy around and they take puns to Jack Wharton. We'll tend to come up with attacking stats. He's averaging 48 so far. So that's okay. I can look with that. And then Trey Fuller, who's my wild card that I'm keeping for the season, but one, the form of Hamiso starting to really alarm me. He's killing it up fullback. And two, actually, it's probably at number one, the form of Jacob Rilla starting to worry me with Trey Fuller as well. But it's only going to take one injury for trade to get back into this side. So I'm just going to be super patient with him this year, because I think if we get to the back into the season and he is in this side at fullback, he will be, he could be a league winner for me. So he was the pump we took on draft day and we will be sticking with him this season. And until then, I think my team can just snag enough wins to be relevant. And then just hope things fall away.
