Rothstein Predicts Kiyan Anthony Starts for Syracuse

0:00On April 25, CVS sports insider John Rothstein predicts freshman guard Kean Anthony will crack the starting lineup for Syracuse right off the gate in the 20-26-27 season. That's the first year under new head coach Jerry McNamara, and has got Hoops fans buzzing early. Rothstein's full projected five includes guards, Garway Dool, Aiden Tobiasin, and Kean Anthony, plus power forward to Dekuai Jr. at the 4-AND. Luke Wilson at center. Syracuse boasts some serious guard size, which could mean a three-guard look to start games. Not everyone's sold though. Some analysts agree on Dool, Tobiasin, White, and Wilson starting, but question Anthony after his freshman struggles last year. The Orange win 15 and 17, and Kean had issues with threes, free throws, and defense, though he attacks the rim well. Instead, they point to transfer Gavin Doty as a strong alternative. He balled out at the end of the last season, dropping 18 points, nearly seven boards, over two assists, and a steal per game on 46%.
