Rogue Trader Scams Homeowners, Avoids Jail

He pleaded guilty to four counts of fraudulent trading and got a 22 month prison sentence suspended for 18 months. On top of that, a three year criminal behavior order bars him from any home improvement work until March 23rd, 2029. His head behind fake names like Chris Taylor, Ryan Taylor, and John Wilkinson, plus phony companies such as ideal landscapers and new age roofing specialists. He snag jobs through sites like bark.com and mybuilder.com, targeting folks needing roofs fixed or yards landscaped. Victims ended up way worse off, paying upfront for shoddy jobs or nothing at all, then shelling out more to get real work done. Lancashire County Council's trading standards team exposed his schemes after digging into four cases, one in Chorley and three across greater, Manchester from August 2024
