Rochdale Shooting: Five Arrested, Investigation Ongoing

0:00On March 26, police in Rockstale have arrested 3 more people linked to a shooting that happened on March 5. Officers responded to Bestwick Royd Street around 3.20pm, where they found a 19-year-old man with a serious gunshot wound to his leg. He suffered life-changing injuries and was rushed to the hospital. A damaged black car was at the scene, and a white 4x4 was later found burning about 3 miles away near Water Grove Reservoir. Shooting videos showed a car being rammed before two masked men fled the area. So far, 5 people have been arrested in total. Last week a 29-year-old was held for attempted murder and bailed, along with a 19-year-old on charges like Conspiracy to Wound and Afrey also bailed. This week brought the new arrests another 19-year-old on Tuesday for Conspiracy to Wound, Violet Disorder and Weapon Possession who was bailed. Today, yet another 19-year-old faced the same charges and remains in custody for questioning.

1:00A 17-year-old was also arrested on similar suspicions and bailed pending further checks. Police believe this was a targeted attack and have stepped up patrols to reassure the community. The investigation moves quickly, with officers determined to track down everyone involved and urging witnesses to share any details they have.
