In Colorado, we already have real examples of people being pulled over or accused of crimes because that system got it wrong. And once that happens, the burden shifts. People have to prove their innocence instead of the system proving guilt.
The danger isn’t just that the system fails. It’s how often it operates—and how much power it has when it does.
At the state level, we still have a chance to set limits, require oversight, and protect people before this becomes permanent.
