Our Feature today is an inspirational story about a residential real

estate entrepreneur who seized on the opportunity to turn a

historic commercial building in downtown Philadelphia into a 20-

unit, mixed-use apartment building. Candace was very familiar

with the building, because of having maintained an office there for

her internet-based travel business. She loved the building, so

when it came up for sale, she jumped at the opportunity. Today,

19 units are practically continuously occupied, with one serving as

Candace’s private residence. There are two restaurants on the
