Remembering Jessi: Marcus Foligno

Tough news over the weekend. How did it hit you? How did it hit the lacrum? And I know how it would hit the organization. It was just an airy feeling when we walked in and we found out the news of Jesse Pearson and her three beautiful kids. It was just a sad day for the hockey community, for the wild organization. Obviously for the state of hockey, really. Jesse was a bright spot. A big smile lady that loved to have fun, joke around with us guys. Honestly, it was kind of like a big sister in some ways. She was here every day. We were just talking about with some guys. You don't realize it's been my ninth year here. I don't remember a day without Jesse being here. It's just a person I always like to make some fun. We joke too. She was hard on this too. A good reporter always is. A person that is passionate about the team.

1:03Always wanted us to win. When you lose a faithful person like that to our team. She really was a part of it. It's the biggest thing here. Times like this where you're going through tough times, you're a lot of people going through tough times. The best thing to do is just remember the memory of Jesse Pierce. Just go back and forth to things that we just smile about her. Lost is a very difficult thing to figure out. They always say time heals, but this one never does. Time never heals everything. It's just one of those things where you got to cope with it and be there for the people that loved her and who she loved. As a hockey player, we want to honor her, but playing our hearts out for her all year. We know that she would love to see the Stanley Cup here. It's hard to put it into perspective, but something like this really shacks you into place. I'm guessing you went home and there was some extra special flanel hugs there for the flanel family. You never want to be reminded by things like this.

2:06But it's unfortunate. When you go home, you take a long last look. You take it for granted sometimes. You go on the road and anything that happens. Life is precious and it's moments like this. Unfortunately, brutal scenarios where you get reminded of how precious it is. It's just devastating and everyone just got to lean on each other in the hockey community.
