19I think it's this last one. As he had a double double, keep in mind, he was the guy that took the hard foul and they had that brawl with Providence, whatever was a month or so. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. So he obviously responded in a big way. I think this is it. Let's see here. I knew he would. There was no doubt. Ah, it's Rick Patino. So we're talking about him responding again. Because he, of course, he played for Providence, which is the key. And he's at St. John's now. So this was Patino talking about him stepping up yesterday. I knew he would. There was no doubt. He took the really difficult foul at Providence, like a gentleman, like a pro. He never complained. He just told his teams. Just focus in. Don't worry about me. I'll take care of myself. Keeping it to business there, which is pretty cool. Now, Zubi, edge of four. Obviously already had his big moment, senior night for St. John's. But now they're in the thick of the big east tournament. Here prepping for the NCAA tournament. Nikki LaDarula, my colleague at S&Y, team of Zubi Postgame after the win of Providence yesterday. Zubi, this is your last couple of days playing in this building. Do you take a minute to soak in while you're out there? Are you kind of don't think about it at this point?

19Man, why did you do that to me? I didn't. I wasn't even thinking about that. But what he did then offer this. Man, it's crazy. Every time I get the opportunity to come out here and mess this great garden and put on this jersey, I'm just so blessed, honestly. And you know, I'm playing for something that's a lot bigger than myself. You know, I'm playing for my teammates. I'm playing for the opportunity. I don't know the biggest title, you know, and what better way to go out and you know, they're raising a trophy here in Madison Square Garden. That would be pretty good. And a banner. And if I can compliment both of them, he is he's fantastic. He's a really good player. And you know, one of the main reasons why if they went on to have a deep run in the NCAA tournament, I would not be surprised at all. And she is, you know, with the way we roll on, you know, audio and tape now these days, Chris, as you know. You see a lot of Nikki. She does a, you know, what though to compliment her? Unlike a lot, I don't know, all but a lot. You can tell she listens when she asks the questions because she's very good at sometimes, you know, responding to what they say rather than just right, you know,

21go to the next question she might have had her in Dutch. Does a really good job with those. Yes. And now she's a Jersey girl, but she has bounced around. I don't mean that in a good way. She's worked in a number of markets, covering a lot of different teams in different sports. So a lot of experience. What do you, what's so funny? You said I mean that in a good way. My mind went somewhere else. No, I'm like, yeah, okay. Let me, let me clean that up. What other way, like you said it. So I was like, what I meant was, what I say, she's bounced around. Sometimes you hear that about a player who can't catch on somewhere. That's what I meant. Yeah, well, you weren't talking about that. No, that was what I think you're filthy mind. No, I looked at Rami and we locked eyes and we, that's the problem. I looked at him and we both had the same thoughts. The only person I've ever met when saving private Ryan is mentioned. Did you go right to the old, did Larry from Indiana and that say he watched the same copy? You see, I was, I didn't hear Larry because I was busy cutting up for it. It's a company to be in. Thank you, Rami. You got to do it before I did. Yes, we love Larry. Larry is a great guy. Larry is a demograph. So he called in to have your back on that.

21Yes, I miss that. I apologize. Jerry knows how it is. You put the headphones out there and you're basically living in another room. Chris, I hear none of the show now. Which is dangerous, because you come here sometimes and you think you're presenting something brand new. No, it is, but when you sit out there and you put headphones on and you're listening, you're, you know, clip cutting up these clips and whatnot, you can't simultaneously listen to what's happening on the air. So sometimes you'll miss things or you'll come in and present it like it's brand new information. I'll Joey Waller with Willie Mays, which is a infamous around these parts. So you know what's funny for them. You know how I know someone, you know I always know they're talking about me is when I will notice Al will turn and start staring at me from the control room. Oh, yeah, I heard the glass there. What is happening now? That's what I know. That's funny. I actually, you know, Jerry, we've talked about how there's really not a lot of people around here anymore, like especially with the construction. I honestly don't mind it because I have a blast out there. I can sell vault listening to this stuff and I'll laugh very loudly.

22And I don't want to, yeah, I don't want it to be disruptive to other people. But I can't have my time sometimes. Well, that's like you got to keep it, you got to keep the energy up in these hours, you know. The adrenaline is rolling. It's kicking. You're right. You want to be like a tennis game, but yeah, I want to be like patantis. That's right. I'm striving to get to his level. Love you, Dylan. That is true. I, listen, I'm a Yankee fan. I loved, loved his time with the team. There's no doubt about it. Uh, last hour we left off. We said we get to that Julio Rodriguez audio. So let me hit that now. Uh, I know you guys talked about this earlier, just in terms of the WBC meaning seemingly meaning more for the other countries rather than the US. And certainly from a fan and a viewership standpoint and all that. This was Rodriguez from team Dominican Republic with the foul territory crew. Winning the World Baseball Classic or the World Series. You can't choose, can you? No, no, I mean, being honest though, like, I love the Mariners. They know I give my best for them every single time that I step on the field. But winning a World Baseball Classic will be top of the list.

23You know, this is for my country. This is for my town. This is for my people, my neighborhood. Like everybody in the Dominican Republic. So I would say Winning the World Baseball Classic will be number one. She tried to get that. She said you can't choose. And he he pretty much did. He chose the Willie, right? That's pretty straightforward. Is it not? He, I mean, he's, yeah. I mean, he hit it right on the head for him. I get it. It just feels weird. You know, I mean, and I understand how much pride he has in his country and playing with that team and how good it feels. Someone someone on Twitter or X or whatever we call it these days mentioned in one of my, one of the mentions or replies said the difference would be that they're, you know, they're just working for these teams whereas their country is their country. And for them, it means more. So and again, I respect it when you watch them. Yeah, I respect it. Let me just circle back and set the scene for the college hoops because we got off. We were talking St. John's and then got away from it. So they're going to play Seton Hall. Seton Hall be great in 72 61. So that game will be first up by this evening

24at the Garden, St. John's Seton Hall 530. And then you got Yukon Georgetown in the nightcap after the Huskies closed of Xavier 93. That's a good double header ticket. That's the best night if you're going to that. Old school vibe. Biggest. Sure is. That's pretty good stuff. We talked about Jerry's Rucker Squad. Their season coming to an end with a 72 59 loss to UCLA. You've got the Knicks back in action tonight. They'll finish their road trip in Indiana against the Pacers trying to make it a winning road trip to and to thus far, a couple of notables from around the NBA last night. The Thunder beat the Celtics 104 102. And in that game, Shay Gilgis, Alexander, Eclipse and Will Chamberlain's Mark for the longest streak of 20 point games. Let me pull up the exact number here. 127. Thank you, gentlemen. Very good. Jerry, you would have missed this on the warm up. I guess it was Wednesday. No, I know. I heard this. Oh, you did. Would you like to hear this? Would you like to play it? No, no, no, no, no. I don't have the audio, but now that I'm mentioning Shay's name, it reminded me that Owl Wednesday tried to claim he'd never heard of SGA until recently,

25which I told him had to be fake news. No, I think it's probably really nice. Oh, come on. You got the amount of time. Hearing it and absorbing it are two different things. I don't know about that. You got to come on. He hears the NBA, he tunes out. NHL tunes out. You know, when you tell me you guys never talked about SGA on the warm up show last year. No, we probably have. That's what I mean. But it does mean God remembers. So to say, he'd never heard the name before. Is that I never heard of this guy? Who is he? Is this what I mean? I think what God, him was the SGA, as opposed to Shay Yulges, Alex. Yeah, I do know you gave the name, and then he said it vaguely sounded familiar, but I think it was more the fact everybody's just referencing this SGA SGA. He's just forgot. It's not that he never heard it. I'm sorry. I have a hard time. I'm right around that one. But the idea that it's not top of mind to him, that is not surprising. I agree with that. Yes, Lakers beat the Bulls 142, 130. Had LeBron back, but the story there was Luca drop in 51. Speaking of big numbers, yeah. So sort of the dust settling a little bit

27on the BAM out of bio game, the 83 points the other night. No, criticism that came from it. So the heat did go out in their next game, beat the Bucks last night, 112, 105. But I want to get to the audio a couple of clips here. First of all, BAM kind of defending himself, pushing back on the criticism of how he and the team went about getting him the record down the stretch of that game. First of all, y'all are blaming me. You should be blaming the hair coach. Get that first. I was not the one, let me go one on one, the whole game until I had 70, then you started to send a double. At that point, I got 70 with like, what? Nine minutes left to go in the game. You think I'm not going for it? So he's basically saying there's a ton of time left. There was a minute or two left in the game. You know, maybe you could be critical about it. And then he's also saying, you know, I'm not a guy that shoots high volume free throws regularly. These were legitimate fouls that the Wizards were committing against him. And that's why he ended up at the line as much as he did.

28Eric Spulstra taking some heat for keeping him in the game, one side at a fair against the Wizards. We played the audio the morning after of Wizards TV basically thinking they were going to sub amount at 81 out of respect for Kobe Bryant. That obviously didn't happen. Spulstra really not backing down from his position on all of this either. I apologize to absolutely no one. Period. And going into the game, it's a Tuesday night game against a team where they're not playing for anything, where their organization is trying to lose. We've already lost a game in that kind of situation. We have players that are sitting out. And I spoke to BAM about I want as our best player on Team Captain for him to be locked in and ready. And he sure was. There you go. No apologies from him. And he even got the chance that the Wizards they're trying to lose. So take that out. I'm sober and you're tanking conversations.

Oh, a lot of people have now referenced the tanking like openly, to the point where it's almost a joke. Well, that was pretty open there from a bolster, I would say. It was very direct.

31It was very direct. And bam's like, oh, we'll blame their head coach, so they're putting the fingers at the wizards, which is kind of funny. The shame of this is, and I said it yesterday, I'll say it again, if bam out of bio, it's 78 points. We would have been, wow, the problem again, it's just like the last, the way the last 10, 12 points came, it looked a little goofy and it looked fake, but doesn't take anything away from what he did. And again, five years from now, we're gonna look at the numbers and say, damn, it 83 points in a game. And will we remember it? Maybe, but I don't think it'll matter all that much as time goes on. Let me give you one football one before we do a little bit on the hockey and then get to moment of the day. Mike Tomlin's surface, I guess this was yesterday or last night or maybe the night before. I think it was his first public comments since parting ways with the Steelers. And he and his wife were in the Pittsburgh area accepting some sort of award. I didn't have, I don't know, it was a community award of some sort. So he did get to the podium and give a speech and then along the way kind of commenting and summing up his time in Pittsburgh. You know, it's often said, you know, we're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time.

34Like you have to choose. And, you know, I think our experience here in Pittsburgh and with the great Steel organization exemplifies that, man, we were here for a long and really good time. And that brought on a big applause from the crowd. So they were obviously appreciative of him and he certainly, and he and his wife were just talking about how much they loved their time there and how they felt really ingrained in the community and how their kids were able to grow up there, how they NFL, the coaches can be very nomadic. But for him and his family, they were able to kind of set their roots down there in Pittsburgh and appreciate it. Well, you obviously know him so well. Do you think he would go into TV or do you think he's just going to ride off into the sunset and live his life? It's hard to say. I don't think he wants to do the TV route. That's just my feeling. I think he'd rather be behind the scenes. I could see him doing things on Park Avenue and working in NFL headquarters. He's already with the competition committee, excuse me. I could see him having an impact in that regard. I don't think the TV,

34I don't think he wants to deal with the nuances of TV. I think he's like, hey, I've done my time. This is who I am. Obviously his daughter, those who daughter participates in gymnastics, she's at the University of Georgia. His boys are older. So I think he wants to kind of dive back into his family. That's good stuff. I'd like to hear that certainly about Coach Tomman. NHL wise, you've got the Kings and the Islanders and I did UBS Arena last night in Winnipeg. The Rangers all of a sudden have become this like third period juggernaut where there's four goals left and right. And the youngster, the former first round picked for the Rangers right in the middle of it. Now the Rangers come out. The badger's out with Lafrogir. Lafrogir across, quote, get up. Lafrogir keeps an eye for spider, go low to score. Game parole. Now the Rangers go back on top. They're fourth lead at the game. That's Kenny Albert, MSG. Yeah, that line with parole. Lafrogirans, the badger's out, productive again. Last night is Lafrogir scored. You heard the game parole goal and they scored four times in the third period and were out to a six three victory over Winnipeg.

35Connor Hellebuck, who was a star for the United States and the gold medal game against Canada had a rough night as the Rangers were put in Pucks past him, left and right. It's their third straight win, their longest winning streak since the week of things. They've been stride, Chris, they're hitting stride. Just in time, yes, not so much hitting a stride are the devils who were home against Calgary and a couple of former devils would score in this game for the flames as they took down the devils. Here comes Calgary across the line. Sharon Govichin, he scores. It was a two on one, Strom and Sharon Govich and the former devil with the backhand goal, two former devils have scored for Calgary and they lead four to two. And they actually went up five to and had to hold on for a five four victory as the Hughes brothers scored late but not enough for New Jersey. Frank the tank in the crowd at this game. Now, Jerry, you listen to his stuff a lot more than I do. Tell me if this is something he does or if this is just a mistake he makes here as he was ripping into his devil squad. Hustetic, Hustetic, Hustetic, B-A-T-A-T-A-T-I-C, Hustetic.

40He left out a T there, was that by designer? I don't know if that's a Frank thing or he just all worked up that he forgot to spell pathetic. Really remember him spelling out words too much. But hey, pathetic, pathetic, whatever it is, I understand his point. Yeah, I think we all do. So some frustration there often does. Anybody travel better than Frank? No, I don't think so. He's ever like all these games. He's with Schwarzenegger. He's doing his workouts. All the barstool guys, there are unbelievable place. And Pat McAfee too, he gets around quite a bit. Yeah, and I was going to say a lot of the barstool guys are at Sawgrass. You got a lot going on over there. Yes, you do. Speaking of Sawgrass, round two of the players' championship ongoing, Cepstroca is 200 through his first four holes. He has gotten it to minus seven solo lead at the moment. You've got Tassai Tagala and Cam Young at minus five among those that are just two shots off the pace. Scotty Sheffler with that even par round yesterday. And Roy McAroy said he was a little rusty coming back from the back and his withdrawal last week. I believe he was too over after the first round yesterday. And it's funny, people talk about the live tour.

43And no one's watching in the US. And I get back from the United Center last night. It was, God, it was 11.30. So it's 12.30, your time. And I turned the TV on. You did kind of wired after the game. And literally the first channel that pops up, I'm watching Bryson D. Shambo in this live tour. I'm like, oh, when was this live from, like, Cam Bolivan? Like, we're Singapore or somewhere or no wonder nobody from the US is why it was midnight. When they're in the middle of these, I don't know when they come here. It's different. And they play a lot of these overseas events. Well, my God, who even know that's going on? Now, only you who stumbled upon it. And a few others that I'm sure are dedicated to a live tour watch or CBS Sports Network show in the column more, Calvo footage from yesterday. He had to withdraw after just one whole tweak something and his back with a warm up swing on the second tier or his, the T-box of his second hall. I think he started on the back nine. So he had to withdraw from the tournament. All right, moment of the day now, two-parter. We started an hour one where Jerry kind of threw me a, I was unexpectedly thrown a compliment

44right out of the gate. And we got into a little discussion about age and turning 40. And now there's a theme to Willie Cologne's thoughts in this first part. And then there'll be a theme to his thoughts in part number two. But here we get it started. Sitting to Willie's right is a young handsome man, man, by the name of Christopher LaPresti. What's up, Chris? Good morning. Wow. I still qualify as young. I love it. Thank you, Jerry. I would do so. I just turned 40. And Jerry, oh, is that true? Yeah, I did, man. You just turned 40, is it? Yeah, about a month and a half ago. How do you feel? I feel fine. No, about the same. The warm up show made you feel old, though. Yeah, well, hang in with Rami, who's 28. And you know, Rami, he's still like, you know, that I never heard of. Right. By the next morning, it was fine. I think I was just like feeling very nostalgic and looking just thinking back on it. Which is good. I did the same thing when I turned 40. I was very much like, man, thank God. I made it. There's come a night's, I didn't think I was going to get here. It's that you do have a level of appreciation.

44But your body will change. Yeah, heads up. I think I'm going to wait. We're not women. No, I'm not saying we need to develop breast. They just don't lactate in their jackets. So you had breasts on your mind there in segment number one, at least for in terms of me being in here. And then as the morning would progress, we went from breasts to Kellin Moore for some reason. You just could not get Kellin Moore on your mind. And here's a sampling of all that. What was Kellin Moore's selling point? But you also got to realize this too, C. Lowe, if you're Kellin Moore, you can't miss with Kellin Moore. You're Kellin Moore because Kellin O'Connell, excuse me, thank you for cleaning up. You're Kellin Moore, this is Kellin Moore. Thank you. You're Kellin Moore. You're right. No, no, no, you're right. I'm saying it wrong, and I apologize. I didn't play with Kellin Moore. I had Jeff Brooklyn who's my Titan. Dustin Keller, sorry. I'm doing this. Sorry, I just wanted to make it. It's Friday morning. Love Kellin early. What's with you in Kellin Moore? See if any of you are in something. I don't know why I keep saying. We got to get you a hoodie with Kellin Moore. It's like, I don't know what the hell. Big face right there on it for you.

44Man, you were all over Kellin Moore's. Just stuck in my mind. Oh man, that was fun. Isn't that the reference clock hour? Like twice in like 30 seconds. Even after corrected, I still don't back on it. Kellin Moore, we got the callers. Who knows, I have to correct you. It's not Kellin Moore. I'm like, all right, so Kellin Moore. I'm like, at the point, she wasn't included the jet caller. You know, I wanted to pick your brain about the history of the Titans with the jets. They can't get it right. She just wanted an answer. That's all she wanted. And you went right back to Kellin Moore. Can't get it. Who wasn't even a Titan? Who wasn't even a Titan? Kellin Moore. Chris, great job. And we will see you next week, I believe. Monday. Excellent. Excellent. Who's out Monday? By the way, I don't know. I'm in. I know we were in. I know we were in. I'm boomerah-sized. All right then. The rest. All right, we will see you Monday. Enjoy your weekend. Thank you very much. Ring Central's AI receptionist uses voice AI to answer on the first ring. So you'll never miss a call again.
