Recap: Pelicans vs Kings - 50th Loss!

1:04subscribe button and leave a comment down below. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a 50 days. But for the wrong reasons, the Sacramento Kings are the first NBA team to lose 50 games this season. And the Kings have now lost nine straight home games that is the second longest home scared in franchise history going back to 1989 and the 1990 season, which was 12 games. And this is the Kings first 50 last season since the 2021 22 season. And tonight somebody had had to win this game. New Orleans Sacramento and a game that featured like an

2:12all-star game like level defense for stretches in this in this 48 minute contest. The Sacramento Kings and the New Orleans Pelicans at least gave some of the fans in the attendance tonight. An entertainment night out. And in the end, it was the Pelicans who came out on top beating Sacramento 1332123. Ultimately, this game tonight was essentially decided in the second and the third quarter. And the one thing when we talk about this Kings team is they give effort, they don't give up, they fight to the bitter end. But what I get disappointed in with this team is we saw

3:22the New Orleans Pelicans dominate the paint tonight against against this team. And we know the Kings are not a good defensive team, you know, go in the three or in the paint. Like this game, as I mentioned, was essentially decided in the second and the third quarter in that second quarter. The Sacramento Kings allowed 41 points by the Pelicans in the third quarter, 38 points by the Pelicans in that third quarter. And the three point gap between the two teams. And the Pelicans aren't known as a high volume shooting team from beyond the arc. But they went six of 11 from deep in that third quarter. Meanwhile, you had Sacramento in that third,

4:27oh, for five in that same span. And they only attempted 11 threes in the entire second half. And we know this Kings team has not been a good three point shooting team all season. And despite the Kings outscoring the Pelicans in the paint overall in this game, a they couldn't handle the size and the physicality of New Orleans when it mattered. The Pelicans dominated the glass in this game. 52 to 42. And you look at the New Orleans bench, the bench of Caledon for 30 rebounds in this game. You had players like McVitch who had nine rebounds. Queen had nine rebounds. Bryce McGowens had six rebounds all out working.

5:35The Sacramento Kings in this game. And we talk about the Kings workies and the growing pains that they go through in their first season. Maxine Ray, no, he struggled tonight with the physicality of going up against this New Orleans Pelicans and the size that they bring in this basketball game. Not a great night for either working. We're talking about Maxine or Nick Clifford. If you want to look at the Kings, the guards tonight, Monk Clifford, they gave the Pelicans working, Jeremiah fears way too much space off high screens in this game. And by the by the time the defense collapsed to help the Pelicans were even scoring in the paint 18 points

6:35in the paint in that third quarter or kicking it out to to confidence open shooters in this game. And with the injuries mounting like the Sacramento team will lie on the veterans who have struggled defensively all season long. I mean, you had players like Patrick Baldwin, Jr. who's on a 10 day. And also Killian Hayes, who just got his second 10 day contract today. Struggling to defend in this game for the Sacramento Kings. So like the Pelicans, they pulled away in this game thanks to the dominant second and third quarter of this game. They outscored the Kings 79 to 51 across those two quarters. And you got to give credit to New Orleans's

7:43depth and the presence in that interior, which was the story of this game tonight, especially the production from their bench and the rookies that they have on that team. It was not all bad news for the Kings because if you want to look at a bright spot for Sacramento in this game, it is precious attua in this game for Sacramento. And I'm not sure if it will be here in Sacramento next season, but precious definitely deserves a look somewhere next season on a contending team. He was a plus, like he has scored 14 plus points in six of the past eight games.

8:43And I would love to see the Kings bring back precious for next season, but I think a contending team could really use him next season on a contending team. So but precious who's been on a role lately and he's turning into a monster as we close come to the end of this season down the stretch. And this is an addition for not just Sacramento, but the 29 other teams for next season. And he scored 29 points, 12 rebounds. He also dished out five assists tonight, blocked two shots. And he also added a steal in this game. And over this stretch, he's playing extremely well for the Sacramento Kings. And I really hope Scott Perry and this team, they bring

9:46back precious for next season to go with Keegan, Nick, Max, DeAndre and your first round pick coming up this June. So like that signing in November, looking even better and better as we close out this horrendous, dismal season for Sacramento and Russell Westbrook and DeModerosa who took every shot for Sacramento for the first five minutes of this game tonight. They settled in eventually with Westbrook 19 points to go with 10 assists, the goes in, dropped in 15 points and two rebounds in this game. And we got the rookie battle tonight between Derek Queen and Maxine Reno. They are two of the top big men from this past draft. And they had a really nice decent battle in this game.

10:53Reno 10 points, five rebounds, Queen 12 points, nine rebounds. But he also, but Queen had five assists in this game, solid performance for both young big men in this game. Malik Monk, who continues to do his thing every time he steps foot on the basketball, basketball floor. And he might not know how like some of his teammates know some of his teammates right now because whoever is on the court with him, but that has not stopped Malik from scoring in bunches like he's like he has done in the past. And tonight 18 points in just 30 minutes of action. He also chipped in for assists in this game. Nick Clifford, just like his rookie brother, Reno, I thought he struggled tonight, but he did a little bit of everything in this game for Clifford. Didn't have a big scorn night

11:59I was all the past couple of games, but he managed to continue to stuff that stat sheet. Seven points, five rebounds, three assists, and just a little over 21 minutes in this game. And this was the fewest minutes that Nick has played in a while, which is probably a good thing because you don't want to overexert your young player this early in it in his tenure in the NBA. You don't want to overwork him this early in his career. Notable mention Drew Eubings. I don't know why he's playing, but I thought he had a solid night that he played sparingly. He's played sparingly this season for Sacramento. I thought he had a decent night for Sacramento off the bench. And he dunked the ball

13:04five or six times in this game, put up 15 points. He had 11 in this game and he played under control in this game, controlled the pain area from the dunker spot. And I thought it was an all-around decent game for Drew Eubings in this game. But the Kings, they lose, they're now 14 and 50. On the season, as I mentioned at the top, the first team this season to 50 losses. And doesn't get them, they might be stacking more losses coming up. The next game is Sunday against the Chicago Bulls who knows some again, somebody has to win. That game on Sunday is at the Kings on the Bulls on Sunday. We shall see. But we know the Kings are not a good defensive

14:09team. They're not a good, they struggle with physicality and size. And we saw it on display tonight against a New Orleans team that has physicality and size. And Zion Williamson is a monster when healthy and when he plays and when he gets down hill and he was unstoppable tonight. So Kings lose to the New Orleans Pelicans.
