Reports show he recently updated his resume to reflect resigning from the El Paso Police Department in 1982 in lieu of termination. Rather than 1984 as previously listed, his office calls it a simple clerical mix-up.

Boutierrez says he's got the green light to gather signatures, needing 25 percent of the votes from the last election within 120.
