This is ready, set fence with Matt Brown and Mike Sommage on Fysand, these sports betting network. Pretty said, bet here on Bees and these sports betting network, Matt Brown and Mike Sommage, appreciate you guys being with us here. We've got a couple more hours with you as some news coming out that we will not see Rory McElroy for the rest of the weekend over at the Arnold Palmer back injury for him. Mike, this is just now all all the attention just turned to what he says on the podium because next week is the players. We know we're not very far from the masters. We need to see if this was just tweaked it and I just don't want to take any chances because we got a big tournament next week and the master's down the line. If this is a oh no, I took a swing and it was done so and like, you know, I'm on the shelf for a few weeks or something like this. This is kind of going to be all all attention now goes to that for sure. As someone who does not have the best back in the world and likes to play golf, let me tell you that not a fun injury to have. No matter how minor it may be, you always have that in the back of your mind.

Like, am I going to feel that tweak again? So it's going to be to see what Rory says when he gets on to the podium and whether or not he's going to come out with some, hey, I like fingers crossed. Look, golf is more fun when Rory is playing. So fingers crossed, he just says, look, it's just a precautionary thing. I don't want to miss the next couple of tournaments. I want to make sure I'm 100% for the masters and it was in my best interest to simply not play these two rounds. But I will see what he says when he gets the podium. We do have one game going on in the NHL right now. The caps and the Bruins are zero zero. That's under six minutes left in the first period there in that one. We said we were approaching half time at some of these early games. They are all three at the half. Actually, we are 41, 37 in favor of Oklahoma state of our Houston. So Houston makes a nice little run there at the end of the first half mic to get this thing within four already regretting that they were down 10. Yeah, they were down 10 with less than three left and then they go down and then it's four at the half took me one segment there. I do want to give a shout out to Rachel phenomenal guest last segment.

She mentioned as she was heading off to the Bruins are heavily outplaying the caps. You look at the shots perspective. They are playing much better right now. The caps move Carlson at the deadline. She's mentioned Bruins in game there. So if anyone wants to get involved there on the Bruins in game, that was another one. Rachel mentioned as she accident Virginia Tech and Virginia at the half Virginia all over Virginia Tech 41 to 25 currently there in that one. If we look at the box score, you can see really, really quickly. The Hokies are shooting 14% from three. Nothing else needs to be said there. About that one four to 14% from three. Mike, I'd like to think that you and I could shoot 14% from there. I can't say for certain, but I like to think we could. I would like to think so too. The other game that a lot of people have action in on here Arkansas taking on Missouri Arkansas missing one of the they were up as much as 13 points there in the first half actually 15 35 to 20 over Missouri. But at halftime it's 39 36 Arkansas up by three. This one was a Missouri minus one and a half number got bet out to two and a half when the injury news came out. We'll see if Missouri can be able to finish off the comeback.

You're in the second half trailing by three at halftime and about halfway through the first half there Yukon and Marquette 19 to 19. So we will certainly keep you updated there on that one. The next ranked tip will be in an hour and we have a slew of them. Actually, I was state hosting Arizona state is big 17 point favorites there in not one we got Kansas hosting Kansas state is 17 and a half point favorites. Then we get into some of the closer match games Miami hosting Louisville about a point point and half something like that at home Tennessee and Vanderbilt Tennessee about two and a half there at home. Those are all coming to you in about an hour. Yeah, we also have action from Tampa Bay downs all day as well. We're going to talk about two of the stakes races a little bit later, but we're 24 minutes to post from the third race. And I do like something here. So I want to give it a shout out here. You've got a heavy favorite in this race. The number five horse mystic lake right now one to nine. So the biggest favorite you can possibly have on the board one to nine.

I think he's going to win the race. I don't want to say to bet him to win, but I do like a long shot in second. The number two flowers for me as a horse is going to come from off the pace. My magic wand was your second choice here is another speed horse. I like the five to exact a cold right now that's paying 15 to one. So you just need that to be able to run up into second and you're heavy one to five one to nine favorite run. First you get 15 to one on it. So give me a five to cold exact to hear Tampa Bay downs race number three 23 minutes to post right now. One to nine. There's a horse up five to the five legs or something like what how does it what's going on here. So this is a interesting condition. It's a $70,000 handicap. And so the condition book allows certain horses to be able to get into the race. Mystic Lake has been running in stakes races, including multiple graded stakes races since the start of 2025. Has a win by seven lengths over a stakes field last time out, but qualifies for this specific condition. So Safi Joseph Jr. decided to throw him in there. He's incredibly fast early.

So he's going to get the lead. And my magic wand who's your second choice to seven also will want the lead. I don't think he gets it. It's a situation where I think the second choice kind of gets burned up by the favorite early. And that sets up for a closer to be able to come running late for second. And that's me as the two horse flowers by me. So because of the way this race was written and inside horse racing. There's there's interesting conditions that you can go through. You'll often talk about N1X allowance. That means you can only win a non winners of one. This is a handicap with a specific $70,000 person because of that a horse like Mystic Lake able to get in. Well, clearly the best horse in the field. And that's why you're seeing that price. That is a. See it's a confidence builder wants to get the dub, you know, give him something to feel good about. You know, it's confidence bill. It is. And we're going to have some bridge jumping here too, which is always interesting. And the term, term inside horse racing when the mass majority of the money in the show pool is going to be bet. You have hedge funds. You have large institutional bettors who come in and try and get a simple $2.10 back for their $2 show wager.

So they're just coming in trying to make essentially 5% in a minute and 10 seconds. Right. Because the minimum you can get paid for a $2 show bet is $2.10 right now looking at the early pool. $10,500 of the $14,000 so far bet to show. Are on the five four. So this is another one where you want to throw two bucks on the two to show. If the five runs out, you're going to get like $20 back to show. So there could be an interesting spot where if you just want to take a couple show, Yolo bets here on the five or the two in the seven who are the two most likely horses to show if the five is not in there. We're going to go ahead and call it. We're going to rebrand those show low bets. We're going to. We're going to. Yeah, I like it for here moving forward. You can take that one with you, buddy. I know you do a lot more content around this than I do. So show low. There it is. You can patent it and trademarked. So we talked about the Crosby trade. I think this is a, you know, a smart thing. By the way, the Raiders also going to release Geno Smith. No shocker. They're going to be drafting Mendoza. So Geno Smith will be out there looking for for a gig. Don't know if they get a starting gig. Seems like at this point in his career, really solid backup type stuff for him.

You know the ceiling of Geno, right? I mean, it's just it's it's so like what do you do? And if you saw it because he's not going to be cheap. If you sign would be a starter. So it's like to me, probably he's that guy that like gets signed way later. And he's just your veteran backup or something like that. That kind of seems the most likely pattern. I would assume for Geno because you're not you're not signing Geno to start for you. I mean, like you know what that is all about. No, you're not. I wouldn't be shocked if Geno ends up back in Seattle. If this is your backup to to to that to the quarterback up there in Seattle. We saw it. Darnold have a phenomenal season back to back years. This is a good insurance policy to fill him in with a team that he already knows very well. And an organization that trusts him. So I wouldn't be overly surprised if he doesn't get a starting gig. But he ends up there up in Seattle. He ends up starting. It feels like it's like Miami or the Jets or Arizona. Like one of those teams where he's going to not be able to make as much as if he started for a team that's going to be in contention. It's we're starting to get kind of the rumors of guys that could be released.

And we've got you know, we're starting to get people asked to be released and want to be released. Including Taylor Decker there with the Lions who just says like my time here is over. And he wants to be released so he can go elsewhere. My so like, you know, there are there are things that aren't necessarily just super eye popping jump off the page like a max cross be trade. But certainly stuff that is you and I are going to start breaking these teams down and analyzing these teams. I mean, they're Decker deciding he don't want to play there anymore is certainly not in significant. No, Decker absolutely matters. He would be someone who's covered it on the free agent market. I think we have to keep an eye on Trent Williams San Francisco not being able to figure out a deal with him. If he ends up on the free agent market, if he gets cut by San Francisco, that's another player that 31 teams will be interested in trying to sign. So some some fascinating offensive line moves that we're seeing here and the Decker one. Man, Matt, talk about a window closing fast for this Detroit Lions team. I mean, you lose Ben Johnson the offensive line regresses all the sudden Decker's out like this is a Detroit Lions team that looked like it was going to be a three four five year run.

And now that NFC title game looks like it's tiny in the rearview mirror and there's not much looking forward. Yeah, so you know, Gibbs instantly shot to the top of the offensive player of the year market whenever they move Montgomery out of town. But I don't know necessarily if that's the I do have questions about how good this Lions team will be this coming season. And if they're not playing and I know he catches passes and all that. But I mean, if they're not playing from in front a lot. I mean, they're playing from a deficit more than we're used to Mike. I mean, like there could be limited opportunities for Gibbs. I don't know. I don't I don't necessarily. I get why people did it. He's electric. He's the dude that at any given time can break a 70 yard. I understand all of that. But like I do think that there is a path in which this Lions team, like you just said, regresses even more than we kind of already seen and Gibbs's role just given the game states that they're in. He's not necessarily putting up eye popping number. To me, the actual market here is not offensive player of the year. The actual market is the division win bet.

Lions are still the favorite in the NFC North. You can go in there right now. You can get plus 190 on the Packers or plus 380 on the Bears. My money would go to the Bears at plus 380. But I don't think the Lions should be favorite to win that division based on what we've seen now. Yeah, it's just a deal where it. You look at this and it was like. This was a team. We were speaking at the highest of high about two years ago. Like man, this team who knows maybe they go in like a three, four year kind of run here that run lasted like a year and a half. It's rough. It's rough, man. And that's why like I love again, we talked about the Ravens trying to take advantage of the window. You don't know how long these windows are going to last. And the sliding doors moment here to me is letting Ben Johnson go and I realize you probably couldn't have fired Dan Campbell to hire Ben Johnson. But this would have been a very different lion's team if Ben Johnson was play calling last year versus what we saw from Dan Campbell. It's it's a fascinating case study. What happened up into trade over the last five years. Jake laser.

Just to eat Sean Payton called me so fired up that the Raiders traded Max Crosby out of the division. I bet. I bet. So that's if you're wondering what the other teams think of this trade with the Raiders again, they had to do what they had to do when we come back. Let's see what Mike's got going on over there at Tampa Bay downs pony up coming. Welcome back to ready said that what Matt Brown and Mike Sommage on Vs in these sports betting network. First up at here on Vs in these sports betting network Matt Brown and Mike Sommage Mike sitting here talking to Tundra about this NFL stuff. And again, there's just things coming through. Left and right on here rumors as to where people are going to end up and where is there a what would be the biggest news for you that could come.

Let's let's not assume like a release or something like that. But is there a is there a trade that could come through that because we assume columners can. The stuff that we already kind of know is there a very trade that could come through that would. That would really move the needle for you. I think Ayuka is interesting where he ends up because at some point you got to feel like he's going to be headed out of San Francisco. I think it to be interesting if you see a team like Pittsburgh go get him if you see a team like Baltimore who we've already seen active on the trade market go out and go after not sure they have the assets to do so. I think the chiefs are another interesting one where if they say hey we're going to go out and we're going to get Ayuka's our number one wide receiver here to pair with Rishi rice and with Xavier worthy. I think that's another one that's pretty interesting to me because like we talked about how limited this why receiver market really is this year in free agency. That is the key position that I want to watch here from a trade perspective miles Garrett would be the other one. But I think that would have happened last year not this year if we had seen miles Garrett moves I don't expect him to be moved.

I think mine's probably AJ Brown and like I don't I think he's probably the you know we said this over the course of the season and people actually liked it so I'll just say it again he's either the best bad receiver or the worst good receiver there is in the NFL he's one of the two but I do think him going to the right situation could change the kind of change the view of that team obviously and again the right right situation being the key term here. Obviously Buffalo is at least floated you know out there with him because it's like hey we know Josh how needs a number one. I don't know if they're done at the wide receiver position my guess would be no the key on Coleman thing failed that was going to be gone Josh Palmer is not. He's not he's a wide receiver for I mean he's not a wide receiver want me so I don't think they're done in the wide receiver market. I just don't know if they'll be able to actually go get AJ Brown where he ends up is at least somewhat intriguing to me. It's interesting because I was very bullish on AJ Brown getting traded and I have become less and less.

Okay, I've had my expectations have been lowered significantly I think AJ Brown ends up in an Eagles jersey to start the season next year does he end in an Eagles jersey. I don't know but I don't think that they move on from him this off season but that that to one of me is another interesting one. I do want to say I'm very intrigued by the collar Murray thing now because when you were paying that contract he's not worth it. At a million dollars I think there are teams that would be very interesting for him. I would love I don't know if this happens. I would love to see collar Murray go to the Colts wouldn't that be interesting if you have collar Murray as the guy on a million dollar two million dollar contract. You tell him he's going to be starter day one as Daniel Jones tries to get back to healthy. You've got the transition tag on Daniel Jones for 33 million so you're not paying him the top to your number. You see what Kyler's got he's got the opportunity to re energize his career with a very good offensive line a top to your running back in a decent receiving core. And then the Colts have an opportunity to see what they have in Daniel Jones without the pressure of him coming back and playing and running right out of the gate off that Achilles.

So this is not a defense of Kyler Murray certainly he has done things in the NFL that you and I both of just you know we can't understand what's going on but him going to a good team to kind of see if there actually is anything there. Is at least somewhat interesting this is kind of what we saw with like Sam Darnell this is what we've just saw we just literally just watch this play out with Daniel Jones like on bad teams and then go into a good situation. And are able to really tap into what people saw in them in the first place right and like I do wonder if he went into a good environment. If we would see a ceiling from caliber and it might be no we might not get a Daniel Jones Sam Darnell drama right we might not get rainbows and unicorns that might not be the case. He might just be bad he might just be middling he's not bad I think he's middling he might just be middling his ceiling might be like we're talking about with Geno Smith essentially right like you just kind of know what it is it's middle there's nothing going to get higher than that but I'd at least like to see it. Look I think again this is like when you when you take away the contract all the sudden Kyler Murray is really interesting to me because a million bucks is not much for starting quarterback and that's what you're going to be able to go out and get him to sign for because he gets the money from Arizona anyway.

So you're going to be able to set up a situation here where you for Kyler he gets to pick where he goes in a lot of cases he can kind of decide if like with all the teams that are available what is the best situation for you to play for one year. To be able to then go back and be considered a top 12 starting quarterback in the NFL again and so from a selection process to me that narrows it down drastically why would you go to Miami. Why would you do that if you're Kyler Murray you're not going to be able to resurrect your career in Miami you're not going to be able to resurrect your career in the New York Jets I've heard Pittsburgh floated around you really think that's where you want to go to try and resurrect your career. To me that like the Indianapolis fit for both the Colts and Kyler Murray makes a boat load assess if there's not if there's not that Mike. If he is willing to swallow the ego wouldn't it be great for him to sign for the with the Rams and then just like sit behind sit behind Stafford for one more year and then just try and go take over the Rams I mean it wouldn't that be a dream scenario.

I mean the Rams are a little bit interesting that if Mac Jones isn't a minor the Niners I think are a little bit interesting I wouldn't count out the Vikings if they're not going to go get Kirk cousins don't you want someone else on that roster besides JJ McCarthy and Kyler Murray wouldn't be as big of a threat to JJ McCarthy like if you're bringing in Kirk cousins that that immediately puts McCarthy I notice Kyler Murray doesn't do it at the same level I just don't know if Kyler Murray is willing to go be a backup somewhere I think that's a big part of this conversation is is he willing to take the ego hit. To sit and hold a hold a clipboard for a full season or not I'm just not sure he's willing to do it because I got to think about it I was thinking about this week and I was just like you know if there's only a couple spots where you can actually start. Man if you don't like those. I would go sit behind Stafford knowing he's very very likely to retire after this year I mean like it's all signs point him retiring after this year and then you could just step in to that offense and whatever like that that seems the same. That that seems the home run scenario to me the other one I'd look out at for his Tampa where you don't know if Mayfield is going to be long term with that team he's got one year left on his deal that would be another scenario where I wouldn't mind sitting behind Mayfield and then trying to become the starter at some point there but to me I want to go to a good coach like Shane Stuykin sitting there in Indianapolis you've got KOC up in Minnesota you've got Stafford and Shanahan in LA and San Francisco those are the guys that resurrect careers it's not franchises it's head coaches that's where I'm headed if I'm Kyler Murray.

You know Mike Sommage likes to bet the horses and so we're going to head the Tampa Bay downs today let's pony up. I bet the horses with Mike Sommage well I bet on horses I never lose why I bet on all the horses it's time to pony up. Oh Mike Sommage over to Tampa Bay this time rare stop at Tampa Bay for us here on the pony up segment. It is just twice a year usually we're going to go to Tampa Bay one of those days is today with the Tampa Bay Derby coming up that's race number 11 I promise we will get there as it is the best rendition of the Tampa Bay Derby in over a decade in my mind from a future Kentucky Derby's perspective. Let's start out here with race number three I mentioned it during the last segment five minutes to post right now I like the cold five to exact that's down to 10 to one now after mentioning it at 15 to one earlier. Hopefully we can get somewhere around that 10 to one price there five to cold exact the Tampa race number three as for the best bets in the pony up segment we're going to go back to two horses that we have talked about in the past man we're going to start out race number nine at Tampa Bay down here we're going to go to the number eight and one more time six to one on the morning line here.

This is the grade two Hillsboro stakes going to mile and eight on the turf and the key within one more time ran really well to back first off the layoff jumps up into a grade two race last time and just got a brutal trip. This is a horse that wants to be forward actually had the lead at one point in this race going to mile and a 16th that day but broke from the 10 post of 12 horses and a race that featured a lot of speed. And one more time was four white on the first turn four white on the second turn you can't do that over that Gulf Stream Park turf course and expect to win well today the conditions are a little different yes we drew the eight of eight post no one else wants the front this is a source it should be able to go out and get a loan lead in this spot I think that makes and one more time very dangerous will take a shot with him at six to one I do like the one. Yeah you do yeah you do coming out of coming out of the same race had a brutal trip in that one was too far back bunch of traffic trouble I think whiskey decision a little interesting there at two to one as well let's fast forward to race number 11 the Tampa Bay Derby I mentioned this earlier best rendition of this race in a decade you have five legitimate horses who have Kentucky Derby future hopes here I'm going to go to a price in this spot give me the number eight the Puma coming out of the Sam F Davis.

Oh yeah for this the Puma got a bad trip and people aren't talking about it if you go back and you watch the race the Puma was boxed in on the inside was not able to stretch his legs had to hit the check button wasn't able to hit the go button when you saw the eventual winner renegade being able to go right around the outside of the of the pack and then kind of gets to start running late and still runs a very good third in my mind I think he wins that race or runs a very close second to renegade if that had happened the Puma would be the favorite today. Instead we're getting eight to one on the Puma so let's take a shot with the number eight the other price I like in there don't ignore the number two talking at a huge excuse last time out 15 to one on the morning line he's got a big threat keep an eye in the five six in the nine as well all five of those horses the two five six eight and nine all legitimate Kentucky Derby horses if they progress properly out of this race. Two five six eight and you got it buddy guys if you haven't checked out sharp plays head on over there they got to add to help you out and of course document results out there since

twenty eleven they are respected watched and feared sharp plays dot com. Welcome back to ready set bet with Matt Brown and Mike Sommage on V sin these sports betting network. First up at here on V sin these sports betting network Matt Brown Mike Sommage and we had to ride out to the guest and we can't we can't mess around you know normally we do we'll do some score update so just do things like that can't mess around Aaron Halterman at racing underscore dudes if you want to find some of his work over there on the Twitter machine still unable to go and get Aaron Halterman as a Twitter hand which by the way he's definitely available almost positive like that you could just get that and like you just have that you know it is you do do content so maybe you know you want to promote that and get it out there is fine I'm going to tell you how to live your life Aaron I'm not going to tell you I appreciate that yeah it's it's before we get to before we get to your your NHL stuff here we were

talking about some of the the horse picks here and you I would like to bring this on air that you are not as big a fan of the Puma as one Mike Sommage is no I want to be clear I don't hate the Puma I think we have a very different opinion on about how well he ran last time out in the same app Davis there at Tampa Bay downs Mike thinks he would have won by 20 links and I'm thinking maybe he would have got second if he hadn't got stopped in that race so we'll see we'll see who's right look who is exaggerating now never say he's going by 20 likes if you were if you were a loyal decent watcher and listener you would have heard the last segment or if you just opened your ears during our hour podcast be in the track you would have heard me say I think he would have been right there possibly won the race or went a close second to ready not going by 20 and the eight to one price you will agree with me is insane on the Puma you've really changed your tone man I think I think your confidence levels get lower and lower and lower because when we talked on Thursday it was like oh he would have won that race so easy

could have ran backwards in one that so it's very interesting now a couple days later it's like well maybe he would have won maybe not so this very fascinating we got horses running backwards we got a five-legged horse that's running in this next race that's coming up next to that this is unbelievable I mean this is I love what we're getting out of the horse racing stuff we were there but there let's do switch over to the NHL Buffalo and Nashville currently right now about minus one anywhere for minus one eighty five after minus one ninety five there on Buffalo you can find a one fifty four return on Nashville if you want to go in that direction six and a half is our total here in this one how are you looking to play it well I'm going to lay the goal and a half with the savers and get us going here to get to that plus number price plus one forty four right now and that's that's plenty if you want to play money line I don't really like playing that low one but I think I think it's it's playable you know for if that's kind of your cup of tea I want the plus number here look it's a very interesting situation we've got right now with the NHL we've got some new blood in

these playoffs right now the Buffalo savers are one of them they have played extremely well this season after a poor start they really got rolling I trust them a lot I trust them at home especially they've been very tough to beat they score goals and bunches Nashville predators kind of a weird situation that's who they're playing this afternoon and they kind of were sellers they they sold off a couple pieces at the trade deadline they still have the majority of their stars though they still possibly could make it but I think they're more geared towards next year that's why I like Buffalo here in Buffalo just going to try to keep rolling and they're on main contender down the east especially if they can keep on their hot streak that they've been on a little spoiler alert here for the upcoming segment what the pocket a little bit later I'm going to cosine this one I went a different direction I played Buffalo in regulation minus one 15 versus lay in the goal and a half plus one 44 but I grew that I think Buffalo in a good situation year despite getting spurned by Colton Perinco with the trade deadline they still went out and got a couple defenseman I think that helps bolster them from that front and that really has been the weakness game I'm not willing to cosine your second pick here we've got the Utah mammoth heading into

take on the Columbus Blue Jackets and you're going to you're going to lose this one who do you like well well there you go my here's why the Columbus Blue Jackets are going to win this game first of all they have been a great home team all year long that's number one and at in the last 10 12 15 games there's no better team to back than the Columbus Blue Jackets they have just been on fire they were pretty much out of it they fire their coach and then all of a sudden they just they just catch fire and they've been unbelievable they're now one point out of a playoff spot that just did not look like that was possible so I'm going to take on the money line minus 105 for Columbus right now I'm taking them I I respect this Utah mammoth team I think they are a team that will ultimately make the playoffs they're in right now in the Western conference but look I think this Blue Jackets team as well as they're playing right now I don't want to play against them defensively they've been great they've been getting great goal tending scoring has been the only little issue and that will continue to be an issue but I don't think it'll be tonight I think they can win a three two two to one type of game so give me the

Columbus Blue Jackets at home I really like the price I don't think you have to lay the goal in half just take the money line with the Blue Jackets we're heading to another puck line and you are going to lay it with Winnipeg this is an interesting team yeah so Winnipeg playing Vancouver now first of all you want to feed Vancouver as much as possible they're literally trying to lose every game to get that first pick and maybe get a Gavin McKinna from Penn State who's going to be a very very good player Vancouver's doing the best at taking that they have sold off all their pieces they're they're a terrible hockey team let's just put it you know kind of bluntly Winnipeg is interesting they were kind of like Nashville they sold some pieces but still their main core it's there they've been playing a lot better Connor hella buck is kind of writing that high of the Olympics where let's face it guys he was the reason that we won the gold medal he was absolutely incredible in that tournament he's writing kind of that high there I I kind of like this Winnipeg team they're a little bit sneaky they're probably too far out of it to make the playoffs but I expected to make a run over the next 20 games and at least give it a go and it may be come up a

couple points short but I think they'll play well you're going to have to lay the goal in half you don't want to play the money line here it's way too low I'm laying the goal have Winnipeg I really think this is a spot where they're going to come out and really dominate and be dominant in this game also Vancouver played last night so it's a back to back here and again they have nothing to play for so Winnipeg minus the goal and half laying a number there usually you like to get the plus money when you're laying a goal and half but I don't mind it here in this spot because I think it's very likely Winnipeg wins this you know four or five to one it's interesting in the NHL when you're trying to tank because it's not an easy sport to try and lose because you've got so much effort from a lot of these different lines but the talent gap between these two teams is significant and I do like your point yes they moved on from a couple defense and at the deadline they kept the core intact and this was supposed to be a much better Jets team this year than what we are currently seeing on the ice it's a little too big of a price for me so I didn't end up playing this one but I do agree that Winnipeg would be the side here and I wouldn't want to lay the money line so going a half or nothing there a little bit later we've got the Carolina hurricane who are a phenomenal regular season team I've got

issues with them in the playoffs still because they still don't love to score as much as they need to they're taking on the Calgary flames you're going ahead and then laying the goal and half in this spot as well. Yeah go to lay the goal and half with the hurricanes you do get to that plus number it and I'll just say again I understand your pass on that with Winnipeg and I think we have kind of the same philosophy you want a little bit better price when you lay in a goal and a half but again I just felt like a spot but yeah but this hurricane's game you talked about and you're right like like our St. Louis Blues are trying to tank and they're winning they're with a one three out of four or four out of five and three in a row and it's like geez guys just stop winning Calgary is in that same boat they're trying to do what Vancouver's doing they're trying to do what the the Blues are at least trying to do as far selling off a lot of pieces and trying to get a better draft pick Calgary traded Nazum Cady I really like him as a player kind of a vocal leader in that locker room as well Calgary just not a great team and you hit the nail on the head the hurricanes if you could win a championship in the regular season you'd want the hurricanes the playoffs I'm with you

still a little bit of an issue not a huge fan of them going into the playoffs but tonight I am a big fan of them lay the goal in a half you get plus one thirty five I mean that's plenty for this hurricane's team they should go in there and take care of business they went to Vancouver a couple of nights ago and laid the goal in half there and they took care of business so I expect more of the same tonight in Calgary Park and Aaron Halterman you have a couple of teams that you're buying perhaps from a futures perspective so I think this is an important bet honestly and I think this is a bet you should make right now it for the Stanley Cup you know to win a Stanley Cup the Colorado have a answer such a huge favorite that it's creating value everywhere on the board so Colorado if you want to play them they're like plus 260 don't do that that is this way too short you could get three to one in places it's still at this way too short I really am looking not looking betting the Dallas stars and the Minnesota wild those are the two teams I think you want to bet in the futures you can get both of them around 18 19 to

one depending on what book you look at and what's happening is because the avalanche are such a favorite the lightning are taking more money than they should the hurricanes are taking more money than they should because they're in the east and they're going to avoid Colorado you know supposedly until the finals and then the teams in the Pacific the Golden Heights and the Oilers they're terrible folks there that that Pacific division is terrible so I really believe when you look at this the value is getting created on Minnesota and Dallas they're going to play each other in the first round and then whoever wins is going to play Colorado in a series that I think it's tight Dallas has beaten Colorado the last several years in the playoffs this Minnesota team is really really good I think Minnesota and Dallas they are way the value on this market right now to win the Stanley Cup I have Minnesota personally I wouldn't mind if you take both Minnesota or Dallas in the spot there we go I'm maybe I'll throw in a couple maybe I'll throw in those let me fun just give me a little sweat here to to close things out he is Aaron Halterman finding him over at racing dudes of course on

the podcast with that guy over there as well talking horses each and every week Aaron appreciate the time man and good luck all right thanks guys when we come back we will continue our preview here the AL Central the Kansas City Royals what does this team have to compete with Detroit Tigers and Mike we got that statement from Rory what did he have to say we'll let you know when we come back the Toyota Tundra and Tacoma are built to keep going blending rugged muscle with precision engineering all supported by Toyota's time tested legacy of dependability step into a Tundra and feel the unyielding capability with the available I force max engine Tundra puts out impressive power torque and towing performance and the roomy high tech cabin keeps you connected on the go or take a

ready set bet here on v sin these sports betting network Matt Brown and Mike Sommage Mike we uh we just had our most hostile guest come in and leave an air and halterman uh throwing jabs at you saying the Puma is not fast at all all kinds of things going on here I mean we we keep inviting this guy back I know it's unbelievable I think I was very nice to could have thrown a shot at him there to start the segment based on what he said off the air again we got to get v sin after dark going here so you can hear the off air conversations as well but I decided to be the nice guy not go after him and that's still the response I get from him I just I don't appreciate it we're under five left Houston has gotten that lead over Oklahoma state it is 70 to 64 Mike we were down 10 points we said hey we should probably bet him and here they are up six so yeah we're idiots yet again 65 61 Virginia over Virginia tech under three left there in that one that huge halftime lead has evaporated here in the second half for Virginia so they're going to try to hold on against Virginia tech and we are 61 62 Arkansas has now lost that lead to

Missouri Missouri a very popular side here in this one against Arkansas and they have come back to take the lead though uh need to get a couple more to cover yeah Arkansas playing a man down we saw Missouri as a point and a half favorite overnight that got pushed out to two and a half before the game tipped we saw it 15 point Arkansas lead in the first half which as you put said does now evaporated here with the Missouri at one point lead at the under eight time out in the second half we are at half Yukon and Marquette the 27 and three Yukon Huskies with a little four by their name only up to only 11 and 19 Marquette team 35 to 33 there Mike Sommage so we will see what Yukon could get done in the second half as they were double digit favorites there and they were and this is not a good Marquette team this isn't the Marquette team of the past year currently struggling this season just 11 and 19 6 and 13 in the biggie so a little surprise and to see 27 and three Yukon struggling at Marquette today if you're just joining us Roy McAroy had to withdraw from Bay Hill over there at the Arnold Palmer we did get that statement we were wondering Mike he

said while warming up in the gym so it wasn't even out on the range while warming up in the gym this morning I felt a twinge in my back as I started hitting balls on the range before the round it worsened and developed into a muscle spasm in my lower back unfortunately I'm not able to continue and have to withdraw I was excited to compete this week I wish Arnold Palmer invitation great finish and look forward to being back next year so something that happened in the gym carried over to the range and it seems like this is kind of an abundance of precaution type thing like we were saying it is the players next week the full whole fifth major thing and all of that and and what not and I don't I'm my guess is as much as he would have liked to have gutted this out with this one he's looking to next week and beyond and so I'm going to take this right now as we will probably see him next week but of course we'll keep it monitored any surprise that Roy is putting up plates the Saturday before a golf round like if you feel a twinge in your back and you're lifting usually that means you're doing something that's a decent heavy amount of weight or like as a deadlift gone wrong something like that

little surprised he's he's in the weight room before going out so this is a new thing that they do and it's the to activate their muscles before they get out there and all of that and so um a lot of them go and do that now and and yeah just interesting that it was it was something enough that could tweak his back that's kind of the interesting thing I mean you know I've seen him do so they do a lot of rotational stuff you know like to warm up and whatever and so I'm wondering if he just maybe had a kettlebell it was a little bit a little bit too or you know what we're getting older sometimes I'll wake up and like get out of bed and my my toe like breaks or something or whatever so you know there's also that well I hope your toe doesn't break when you get out of bed that's just okay uh whatever it is maybe maybe Roy should activate the back muscles a little less just just uh you know advice moving forward for Roy activate him but maybe not quite as much here uh when you're in the weight room there guys right now you can head to vision.com and get that MLB bedding guide in depth previews of all 30 teams you can go in and see what we think about the side young award what we think about the MVP award and you'll get a complete stats glossary

so when me and micro using all of those advanced statistics that we like to talk about you know what we mean you know what we're saying and it's just 1999 over there right now at visa.com so I subscribe and if you are also if you are already a pro subscriber just go in and download that puppy it is waiting on you so Mike we head into our second team here in the AL Central in the Kansas City Royals this is a in my opinion a legitimately dangerous team I also think that this is a team that leaned into the fact that they do now have some really good players in all of that and like robbing them of home runs and stuff it's probably not in their best interest they move the the walls in there in Kansas City this year you do get Cole Reagan's back something we'll talk about here next segment as we did the the baseball futures draft here on the network someone that may or may not have ended up on my team with all of this but you have arguably the second best player in the American League behind Aaron judge and Bobby Witt on your team

you got Pasquan Tino who has obviously he's already hit 30 plus homers in the majors has 40 homer upside for sure Salvador Perez just continues to do it at his old age every single year just goes out and gets it done Jack Haggley on has the most ridiculous power raw power of any one we've seen in a very, very long time by the way he has three of the four hardest hit balls in all of spring training like there's a thousand players play where he said that three of the four hardest hit balls in all all spring training Mike Helgarcia is another guy they're expecting some big things out of so I do understand why people are are excited about this Royals team. Yeah it makes sense I mean we talked about how Detroit has a high ceiling and a high floor to me this Royals team has a high ceiling they they can be right there with the Tigers if everything works out very well for them specifically in the rotation the floor is a lot lower like this this could go bad too for the Kansas City Royals I think that's why you're seeing them here as the second choice in this division it's a lineup that I like quite a bit Bobby with junior obviously the mainstay in that lineup he's someone who you expect to have another exemplary season here for this Royals team

Catley only like that's a big time prospect who can absolutely hammer the baseball if he's able to reach his ceiling early in his career this really elevates that that that Royals lineup just up another step like even guys like Salvador Perez so I get he's getting older still a legitimate hitter at the catcher position as well for this Royals team so the lineup to me makes a ton of sense Cole Reagan's going to be a big part of this Kansas City Royals team he needs to stay healthy he needs to pitch well if he does that gives them a legitimate ace at the top of the rotation after that it's Waka Lugo Bubich and then we'll figure out what happens with the fifth spot fifth spot in the rotation you're during spring training not the same upside as the rotation from the Tigers not the same one two punch is the rotation from the Tigers but if everything goes well that's ceiling again is just as high as the Detroit Tigers because the arms are good enough with the bats that are in this lineup and they went out and made sure that they have depth too because I think I think they think they're better than the Tigers like I actually think that they think that they're better than the Tigers and so they go out and Mike this just happened a week ago

they signed Starling Marta to for the outfield I imagine he'll get a handful of starts a long way they traded for Isaac Collins in the offseason a guy that played a ton for Milwaukee if you remember I mean this guy made a ton of starts for Milwaukee he's going to fill in in the bottom of that order play one of the corner outfield positions for them they sign lane Thomas in the offseason as a free agent outside out of Cleveland he's another guy that can play in the outfield and I imagine we'll be getting a handful of the bats and all of that they go out and in the bullpen they get Matt Matt Strom to come in and I'm telling you man like I'm I think that they truly believe that they are at least on the level or better than the Tigers with kind of their actions that they have shown here in the offseason. Yeah I think it makes sense this is this is a team that again the lineup feels like it's going to be very good and then it just comes down to what are you going to get from that rotation but if you go player by player from a lineup perspective I do think the Royals have a slight edge over the Tigers the pitching side the Tigers

have the edge and so the question is can you close that gap and can you get this lineup to really produce at the level that on paper you think the expectation could be they are a team I like the over in the win total at 82 and a half I do think that this is one that you can look more toward the upside than look toward the downside and it's an offensive lineup especially against the rest of this division which we'll get to later in the show that I like quite a bit I wouldn't be shocked if this is a situation where the Tigers and the Royals both take off and win 90 plus games that that to me is a very real possibility inside this division especially with the other three teams. So you and I made a point last year of not betting against Noah Cameron because he was I had a horseshoe firmly planted you know where and I can't would dance into raindrops I mean the all the stuff said that he should have been getting lit up and it just wasn't happening I mean like we said we talk about variances very real but it doesn't have to happen and it did not happen it didn't happen last year for Noah Cameron I'm very interested to see what he looks like this year Mike because maybe we're just maybe he's just a professional outgitter you know I'm saying in like the

advanced stats like we we have these with certain guys right like Max Fried for example like the stats don't jump off the page he's a less than 8k per nine guy and all that it was he's just a professional outgitter he knows how to get out and maybe that is what Noah Cameron is and if that's the case if you go Reagan's walk a Cameron and now you just kind of need one of boobits or lugo to hit and always the fifth spot it can be can be up for grabs there then didn't got a really really really legit rotation as well to go along with that lineup that you think maybe top to bottom is better than tigers. Yeah and I'm look I left Cameron off when I was mentioning the starters for the exact reason I think the regression monster wins this year but maybe it doesn't right maybe maybe he's able to maybe he just has an umbrella and the rain drops never hit him but I want to see it again this year before I consider him a top three rotation guy in the matrix. Yeah moving those fences in 10 feet dropping the fence height from 10 feet to eight and a half they rain the sims Mike they said it's worth a win and a half so that's what they're going to get by doing all that

win and a half could be enough to win that division.
