I'm looking forward to it, man. I know you and Sommage have your little bromance going, but when he had to call out, they said, what's the next best option in the state of California that we can call up? That's how I ended up here, so I'm happy to be with you, buddy. There'll be some less horse racing here on the program. A little bit. Less horse racing. Of course, if you guys are interested in there, there's some big derby preps and things like that this week and go and listen to Beeson at the track. That's him and Aaron Halterman, so they've got that covered. Be sure and go in if you are all of that, but we will not be talking about that. I'm not going to sit here and make things up. Joe, here's the deal about the horse racing stuff. It's kind of a bit that we do on the show. I pretend to be really, really, really dumb. I mean, I'm not smart when it comes to horse racing, but I pretend to be very, very dumb to kind of set some a jump for everything.
Some people don't get the bit and they're kind of like, why do you even talk horse racing? You don't know what you're talking about. Well, one, I think I'm making that very obvious. And two, it's a bit. Yes, I'm acting like I'm whatever, but anyway, Beeson at the track, if you guys want to take in all of that stuff. All right, Joe, here we go. NCAA turning, Duke moves on, beat St. John's 80 to 75. St. John's actually up 69, 67 at the 421 mark there in the second half. But then Duke just goes and gets this thing done. Isaiah Evans, 25 points on 10 to 15 shooting four of eight from three for him. Cam Booser, 22 points and 10 boards and Duke does advance. Yeah, how about this Matt St. John's was up 55 to 45 with 15 minutes to go. And in each of Duke's first three games, they have either been tied or been trailing with 15 minutes to go. This Blue Devils team has been all about second half adjustments and just outwilling their opponents in a final 15 minutes. TCU and Duke were tied at 44.
See, the end of the 16 seed was up with 15 minutes to go shoot. They were up with five minutes to go. I don't think Duke tied it until the four minute mark in that round of 64 game. So look, I'm from New York, from Long Island. I grew up going to St. John's games. In fact, my first St. John's game ever, Rick Patino was the coach of Louisville. And they whooped the Johnny's at Madison Square Garden. I love this team. I love Rick Patino. It was a fun season. It was an incredible season. I can't complain about it. A sweet 16 run for a kid who grew up rooting for like a 10, 12 win Johnny's team on an annual basis. It's been incredible. What I will say is you can't blow it lead like that. 10 points with 15 minutes to go. It certainly is not insurmountable. But it's a strong enough lead that you got to hold on to it. It was a shame to see them blow it. This Duke team, though, I mean, look, St. John's had the heart. They had the work, I think, you know, they had to grit the toughness. This Duke team is so damn talented. And you get Caleb Foster playing like that. I mean, three weeks removed from surgery. You saw John Shire getting emotional after the game.
Boosers out there playing bully ball. Now, will that translate to the NBA? Probably a conversation for a couple of months from now. But right now, he is playing absolute bully ball. And this Duke team is going to be tough for anyone to knock off. I'm glad you bring that up as we look here. Five to one for Cam Booser to go. Number one, overall, in the draft there in Peterson. Now it plus 160 and then minus one 25 there on to Bonza, which again, this is a pretty big shift here to Bonza, about four to one couple of months ago. And then the Peterson stuff about does he, you know, questioning his heart? Does he really want to play? How much does he love basketball, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Kind of ignoring what we see on the court when Peterson is good. And has moved him out to plus 160. Honestly, Joe, I think that it wouldn't shock me. If Boosers went one overall, you really only need whatever team to win the lottery to fall in love with him over the other two guys. But I do think at the end of the day, it will probably will be defensive because I think there's enough teams out there that question whether Peterson has what it takes, if you will, the intangibles and all of those different things
to keep him out of going. Number one, even though what you see on the court when he is good is absolutely phenomenal. When he's on, he can't miss. But what I've seen watching a lot of Kansas basketball this year is a guy who, while he can hit from anywhere on the floor, is not always a high efficiency score. I mean, there are times where Peterson's chucking him up. And yeah, he'll drop 28, 30 points, but he'll do it on, you know, 25 shots. And that's not always a case with him. But I see inconsistencies not just in how often he's out there, but also in his performance, Matt, I'm going to throw a name out there. And, you know, maybe people say that's absurd. That's preposterous that he would go number one. If I'm drafting number one as an NBA general manager, and I have the positional need in my back court, Darius Acuff, to me, is the guy you want on your team. I mean, I think he's the best player in the country right now. I think he is a leader. We saw that, I mean, how rare is it in today's one and done era that you have a freshman with the intangibles and the leadership Acuff has? And then let's talk about the tangibles. He's as good a score as there is in the nation. He's great from the outside.
He's great at attacking the rim. I love this kid. And if I was drafting number one, and I needed a guard, I needed a point guard. I'm giving Darius Acuff serious consideration. What is he coming in at on the odds? I mean, he was, I saw 125 to one not long. 150. So if you want, you could put a dollar on this guy's out there. If you want it to, and I have a sweat there. He has 150 to one for Acuff to go number one overall. Alabama, two point lead at the half. Then got a outscored 43 to 28 and second half. False to Michigan, 92, 70, seven. Phil and junior had 35 for the time of Michigan, 48% from three. They had eight blocks, Bama, just 30% from deep. And that's how you end up with a 13 point victory. Yeah. And this was all what Michigan did in the paint. You know, I mean, the first off credit to Dusty. Many of the guys, they went down what 11 to two right off the bat. And they did not let it phase them. This could have gotten ugly. We know what Alabama is. And they're a streaky team when they get hot. They can bury an opponent in the first half.
Michigan wasn't going to allow that. And all they had to do in the first half was exactly what they did. They kept pace, went into the locker room, a two point deficit. And then they dominated in the paint. They were plus 14 on both points in the paint and rebounds. They absolutely dominated Alabama inside. And how about outside two? Bama made one more three than Michigan. But it took them 20 more three point attempts to make one more three. So I talk about efficiency. I mentioned it with Aaron Peterson. And sometimes his lack thereof Michigan shot incredibly efficient from the floor. 50% from the floor for Michigan just 36 for Bama. So when you combine efficient shooting with just absolutely dominating your opponent in the paint. It's a recipe not just for a win, but a come from behind cover for Dusty May and the Wolverines. You can't held on beat Michigan State 67 to 63. Sparty shoots just 25% from three. And it isn't always exactly how the games are going to turn out. Whenever you look at the three point line there, Joe. But I mean, this one, they only got to 25% because they made a couple late in the game.
I mean, they were absolutely atrocious from deep all game long and end up losing this thing by four. And it's very hard to look past the fact that they shot only 25% from three. Yeah, I mean, look, I will say this was a bit concerning for Yukon as well. You opened up a near three touchdown lead early. And there was a point lead in the second half where Sparty actually reclaimed a one point lead. So concerning for Yukon that it came to that, all the credit in the world goes to Tom Iso there. But yeah, this was a different Sparty team. Now, last night's game probably looked more like old school Michigan State basketball, grind it out low scoring. But this year, the theme with this team was that they're a great three point shooting team, heavily reliant on it and they don't play a lot of defense. It was pretty uncharacteristic of Tom Iso's team. It's why I wasn't as high on them. I had Yukon right where they are to the elite eight, my original bracket. Not going to brag about my bracket because three of my final four teams went down in the last two days. But, you know, I did not like this match up for Sparty because it's such a different team than we're accustomed to seeing. And Yukon, what a model of consistency.
I mean, early 16 and one against the number in the tournament. Alex Karabin, third most tournament wins of a player in College Hoops history. I mean, this team for all the turnover they've had from the repeat national champ squads that they had a couple of two and three years ago respectively. They still have the consistency that is Karabin as a leader. Hurley on the sideline. I mean, Yukon's always going to be a tough out. Tennessee led by one at the half and then outscored Iowa state 42 to 29 in the second half. They cruised to 76 62 victory there. Also, it's 17 turnover. So if you want to nitpick a little bit there, you don't want a team having 17 turnovers. But again, going back to that three point shooting cyclone is just 22% from three. So very tough to make up a big deficit when you're only shooting 22% from deep in Tennessee. Moves on. Yeah, what really disappointed me because I laid it with Iowa state in this one. I thought they'd have been so much better on the glass. How about a two to one rebound differential for Tennessee 43 boards for the Vols 22 for Iowa state Tennessee 16 offensive rebounds.
It's the best offensive rebounding team we've seen in 25 years this season 45% of their misses result in an offensive board nearly half of them. I mean, we've never seen anything like that this century. It's absolutely absurd. Rick Barnes gets a ton of tournament. Hey, well, they're in their third straight elite eight. Now they're not going to be able to bully Michigan. They don't shoot as well as Michigan. It's going to be a tough matchup tomorrow, which obviously will be covering the next two days. But I can't wait to see that battle in the paint between Tennessee and Michigan. So where that leaves us here, eight teams. We got Iowa and Illinois today. This is six and a half at draft Kings in favor of Illinois 139 and a half is the total in that one. If you think Iowa wins outright plus 250, we have Purdue and Arizona a little bit later today. That's five and a half now in favor of Arizona 153 and a half is your total in that one two to one. If you believe in Purdue tomorrow, Tennessee and Michigan is sitting seven and a half in favor of Michigan 146 and a half plus 250 Tennessee on the money line and then Yukon
and Duke is sitting five and a half 133 and a half on the total plus 180 for Yukon to get it done. As Joe said, we will talk about all of these games, right? McIntyre will join us. He is a college basketball absolute freak. He will talk about all of these as well and see if any of these bets. Not only in our accounts, his account and things like that along the way on the other side here. We'll talk about what went on in the association last night. Some interesting stuff went down and when I say interesting stuff, the race to the bottom just continues to be. Joe, I love, I love the race to the bottom. It's like my favorite thing in the NBA right now. It's why this time of year, why bother with the NBA just lock into college hoops and watch athletes actually try to win games. It'll be so fantastic. We'll talk about that. We got golf going on as well and then Joe Daily Home will join us here in about 15 minutes. We'll talk to NFL draft just getting started here on Ready Set that it is. That's pure automotive joy.

Welcome back to Ready, set bet with Matt Brown and Mike Sommage on Vsyn, these sports betting network. Pretty set bet here on Vsyn, these sports betting network, Matt Brown, Joe Cirolo in Sommage out, Galavanting around the country. Well, guess what? We got you holding down here for the next three hours. Just went through everything that went on over in college basketball. Of course, we will get into each one of those games in depth here. But the association rolls on as well, Joe, the clippers come back from 24 down to beat the Pacers, Kawaii Leonard hit a shot with 0.4 seconds left and get it done. And man, I just love, like I said, the race to the bottom is so incredibly fun. 24 points just magically erased there as the Pacers do sit with just 16 wins on the season. Man, this confirms my NBA betting theory, right? It's not a league that I bet a lot, but I always say when you do bet the NBA in terms
of sides and whatnot, it's a league that you best bet live. And Indiana going up 42 to 21 right out of the gate after the first quarter. What do you think that live number was after the first quarter, right? Down 21. All you had to do was take the clippers, plus whatever points they were getting, forget money line. They win it out right there. I mean, how about the Lazarus effect going on with the Clippers? Talk about a resurgence arise from the dead. There are two games over 500. It's nice to see some team actually trying to win out here because this Indiana team, the effort this season has been absolutely despicable. You knew it was going to be somewhat of a lost year off the jump with the Halliburton injury, but 16 and 58 Matt. I don't think anyone could have predicted this from the defending Eastern conference chance. Yeah, it was. And again, just a melting away of a massive lead for them to continue to try to be the top pick in the draft. Okay, see, but the bulls 131 to 113. Cheat homerun sat out in this one, but okay, see, still gets it done close to third quarter
on a 15 oh run. Letta had a seven point lead there heading into the fourth and then seven minutes of scoreless time for the bulls. They look up. It's 102 to 80 before they can blink their ISGA 134 consecutive 20 plus point games for a guy that is very good at basketball. Yeah, I'd say he's all right. I really like what we're seeing out of this OKC team right now, you know. I thought San Antonio, if you would ask me maybe two weeks ago, I thought San Antonio was going to be the one seed and they're a team that I was looking at to win the when the title or at least win the West. I think I got plus 850 on them to win the West at the all star break because the trajectories were completely the opposite. OKC was 13 and 13 in their past 26 games at the time. San Antonio was rip roaring hot. I thought that the first round matchup would be beneficial to the spurs and right now OKC, they're turning it on at the right time. They're looking like a team that's on a mission to repeat. It's going to be a really fun Western conference playoffs, man.
I mean, the Lakers among the hottest teams in the NBA, Denver and OKC might have a second round date again in the one versus four round and that's not even a guarantee because Minnesota and Houston are phenomenal and they're still fighting for seeding. It is so bunched up and convoluted there and at three through six slot, I can't wait to see how it plays out. Yeah, I'm glad you said that because it seems like everybody all they want to talk about is the tanking thing and like, oh, this is like this giant cloud over the NBA and I understand it needs to be addressed. But what I think doesn't get talked about enough is how good the NBA is right now certainly at the top two and like it's just everyone's talking about, yeah, these teams I just want to lose like, OK, true. But if you watch the teams that want to win and want to play in the young players that are playing awesome. You know, it's I think that gets lost sometimes in all of this, but speaking in teams that aren't looking to win that spurs team, you were talking about there are 18 and a half point favorites today over the bucks. The box definitely not trying to win. So it is 18 and a half for the spurs. That'll be the first tip of the day getting going pretty much right when we get off air.
They are two and a half games back of the thunder with eight to play Joe. So I mean, again, the playoffs going to be super, super fun. I mean, this race is is not over quite yet. These spurs are within striking distance. Right. And correct me if I'm wrong. All San Antonio would have to do is get a tie, right? Because they would have the head to head tiebreaker over OKC. So, you know, they're two back in the lost column and they don't have to finish ahead of them. They just have to finish even with them. It's going to be tough eight games to go. I mean, do we see OKC going only six and two in San Antonio winning out? It's a big ask. I think they'll stay right where they are with that two seed. But, you know, to your point, you mentioned Milwaukee, right? 11th place in the east and they barely have a winning percentage over 400. But you look at the 10 teams in front of them. And the Eastern Conference in recent memory, typically weaker than the West. The East has 10 teams over 500. I think that right there is a story, Matt. And then you look at the West and they have eight teams over 500 with Portland knocking on the door game under.
You know, there is good basketball. We've had recent years where maybe 14, 15 teams are better than 500. You've got 18 almost 19 this year. So, while the bottom is, you know, really, really bad, there are more competitive teams than not competitive teams right now in the association. Nuggets outscore the jazz 37 to 24 in the fourth quarter. They win 135, 129. Yochitch goes 33, 15 and 12 for just a ho-hom. Another triple double, 30 point triple double for the dude. Nuggets a game up on the timber wolves. They are two games up on the rockets and they're a game and a half behind the lakers for the three seed in the West. So, this is definitely a race to follow as well as we come down the stretch. You mentioned that Lakers team. They win 116, 99 over the nets. Luca goes for 41 and eight boards in that one, but he gets his 16th technical again. They already had a 16th technical. That one gets her city. It's a 16th technical again. So in theory, we'll have to serve a one game suspension. So we'll see. I imagine this one is not going to get rescinded.
It was the whole little kind of scuffle thing back and forth. So, guessing that he will have to serve this one game suspension in LeBron and Bronny. Get the first father son assist in NBA history, a second quarter three for Bronny. It's seen, I guess whatever you think about it, I mean, it seems like the NBA has been around for a long time. How could this be the first time ever? But you just father and sons just don't play together ever. And so there it was. If you watched last night, you did see an NBA first. Yeah, it's funny because you and I are both, you know, pretty big baseball guys. And we've seen a ton of fathers and stuff in Major League Baseball. But in the NBA, you know, I mean, we've seen I think the grippies bat, you know, next to each other, a lineup, right? One after the other, something like this in the NBA though, look, it's really cool. Does Bronny belong on an NBA roster? Probably not, although for a kid who did nothing in college, I'll give him credit. There are times out there he does look competent. I have to be completely objective and give him credit where it's to it. Sometimes he looks competent in the G league. He actually looks good, but usually he looks overmatched out there.
That said, it would not shock me if this is LeBron's last season. I don't necessarily believe he's going to have the big swan song and, you know, go around do the tour. It wouldn't shock me if he calls it quits after this year. So to have this moment with seven, eight games left, really damn cool. The race to the bottom, like we talked about, of course, we're looking for the most amount of ping pong balls. The top three get 14% then it goes down to 12% for fourth and then 10 and a half percent there. Four, fifth, Pacers, 16 wins, nets with 17, the wizards was 17, kings with 19 and the jazz with 21. So that's where we sit there. And of course, this is all going to be overhauled. We have three different tanking plans that have been floated out there. How do we get rid of tanking or at least try to curb tanking with the NBA? They're going to discuss in the offseason. Apparently, Adam Silver says ultimately he feels like this needs to be an ownership decision. So they will try and come up with some sort of plan. I mean, Joe, at the end of the day, yes, you got to do something here. I read through all three plans, all three, I guess, are fine in theory somewhere along
the way. I don't know why we don't just do it like the NFL where it's like, okay, worst record gets the, gets the number one pick and then you just keep going down, down, from there, but you can't pick in the top five, two years in a row. So basically, yes, you can tank for a season and then you can get a top pick, but just so you know, you will not be able to do that again next year. I just think that is like the most obvious thing to do here is like let a team rebuild, let them tank, let them get a player and then understand that you are not going to be able to do the exact same thing the next season, but that was not one of the things that was floated. So we'll see what they end up deciding. So you're saying if you finish with the worst record, sure, congrats. You get the number one pick next year. Best you can do is six. Right. Right. I like it. I like it. I mean, you know, you can't have these repeat offenders down there every single. You're buying for the, you know, it makes sense. I like that idea because it is a real problem. And you know, I mentioned that right now you have 18, 19 teams, you know, either flirting with 500 in Portland's case or better, which is great for the association, but the bad
is so bad. Yeah. I mean, to have, you know, five teams with winning percentages below 300 and then Dallas hardly better. It's embarrassing. Guys, we will get to our majorly baseball preview. We'll get to our majorly baseball picks here a little bit later. In the show, there is golf going on as well. The Texas children's open is happening right now over in Houston. Gary Woodland is your leader by three over Nikolai Hoigard and Jackson. Super. They have, they're sitting at 10 under. Then we got Minwoolie Jason Day at nine under Michael Torbornson is sitting there at eight as his Sam Stevens. So we'll see if Gary Woodland can hold on. And when I say we will see, I have a Gary Woodland ticket. So yes, we'd like Gary Woodland to hold on. We also have a Nikolai Hoigard ticket. And we'd like that to happen. Or if we want to have a massive run from Adam Scott, we also have an Adam Scott ticket who is sitting T eight right now. So maybe we can cash one of these things. But guys, the field is narrowing right now. So go to Vison Pro. You get the daily best bets right now. The real time betting swits from DraftKings and Circo.

Here on Vison, Vsports betting network and Joe Sarello in for so much as we roll on here on a Saturday. Appreciate you guys being with us. Serious channel 158, we got YouTube TV, our very own Vs and watch app terrestrial stations across this great country of ours and Joe, we can forever say at about 920 ish AM on Saturday, March the 28th, we watched the first four point field goal ever sail through the uprights. Where were you? Now we will remember forever. It was a big moment for me, man. I can't think of anything more riveting and exciting on a Saturday morning than watching a four point field goal in a league that may seize to exist in a couple of years. The UFL one thing we did point out here and we'll bring Joe daily on in here in just a second is only SPN on the scorebook, they are keeping the spread and the total on the screen at all times, which for guys like us, we're like, it's pretty cool. I do wonder what just the average Joe is thinking right now about this. Yeah, I dig it. The bourbon moms might not maybe we'll do an exit poll on that and see what they think, but I absolutely love it. I mean, hey, got to embrace it.
I think it's kind of hilarious and also pretty awesome. Now, joining us here on the progressive guest line, Joe daily on A to C sports, your app reporter at Joe daily on over on the Twitter machine. How you doing, man, four to three over in the UFL? I'm still so perplexed that this is a real thing. I don't even know the season had started. I might actually go tap into this. Hopefully there's another four point field goal. I don't miss out on the next one, but now the Saturday is going pretty good. It's even better now than I know there's football on Joe. It's great to have you on, man. Let's tap into the NFL draft market, shall we? Because to go number one overall, if you wanted to win $100 on Fernando Mendoza to be the top pick, you'd have to lay a cool 20,000. So no big deal there. But things get more interesting when you look at the number two pick. Arvel Reese, the favorite at about minus 250 and then a variety of options. Where are you going after Mendoza when the draft really begins with the second overall pick? How do you see that one unfold? Yeah, I think that this one, especially with the timing, now is probably the best time
to grab Arvel Reese as that likely favorite to be the second overall pick. Because I think that that's only going to pick up more and more steam. He makes the most sense considering how they approach this off season. They try to improve the floor of their past rush room and improve what they have at that position. And I feel like right now where they need to get better is at linebacker. One of the big misconceptions when talking about Arvel Reese is this assumption that he's just a pure past rusher. He's not. He is more linebacker than he is in edge rusher. But what makes him so dangerous is that he is this deployable weapon that can come off the edge. I think he's most dangerous when he's sent to deal with guards and centers. Those guys can't keep up with him. He's just far too quick, far too explosive. He's not as bendy as your typical past rusher. And I think overall what Aaron Glenn needs is a guy like that. Well, David Bailey would make some sense after they traded away Dermain Johnson. I feel a little redundant considering the similar physical profiles that they already
have with Will McDonald on that team. So I think that Arvel Reese, it feels like a almost a sure thing. I know I'm being a little bit declarative there. But out of any of the prospects that are on the table, he feels like the one that makes the most sense. Joe, they have put up over on overunders over on draft kings at least one and a half quarterbacks is the line right now. The over is sitting at minus 270. Of course, there's a ton of talk about Ty Simpson in this draft. We kind of know for again, Fernando Mendoza is going number one overall. Will there be a second quarterback who will take that second quarterback? What do you think with Ty Simpson? I really think that there will be a second quarterback picked. And I really do think it's going to be Ty Simpson. There's just been so many indicators that for some reason, we keep brushing aside throughout this process that line up for him to go in the first round. The first and foremost is when he declared it was reported that he was being pursued to return to college football. I believe Chris Lowe was the one and on three who had written the story on Ty Simpson.
And Simpson talked about the fact that he made his decision because he had overwhelming reviews for NFL teams that had indicated that he was capable of going in the first round, that he was a first round prospect. Now, I don't think he's the top 10 guy. I think that there's a lot of just general, not red flags, but detractions from a prospect of his caliber because of the fact that he's got such a small sample size of playing time. I think that there's a general concern there. He needs to go to a situation where he can sit and he can learn and he can develop. But overall, you're not going to get NFL teams lying to a kid telling him that he, unless it was from uncredible sources, they're not going to lie to him and tell him that he has first round capability if it's not true. And I also think him going to the NFL combine, he checked the two major boxes that we were able to see in front of our faces, which was him getting back up to a good weight. He put on 25 pounds after he lost a ton of weight from being sick during the season. That's a big negative that people talk about with Ty Simpson is that he is a lean kid
and he looked really thin on film and he started to get banged up down the line. It was out of his control. He was sick. Added to 25 pounds in a short period of time shows intentionality. It shows focus. And then lastly, I think that out of any of the quarterbacks of the combine, he looked phenomenal. We knew that he was going to be able to throw super well in a setting like that because it's such a natural passer. I feel like there's too many teams in the first round that are desperate to figure out their futures at quarterback that somebody's not going to take a swing. I feel would be enticed to trade back in the first round, very similar to what the giants did last year with Jackson Dart. All right. So Joe, I got to ask you because I know you've watched more Ty Simpson film than almost anyone out there. A couple people at another four letter network really love this kid and have been touting him a lot over the past week. Now, there might be some discrepancies there. Those people may or may not be repped by the same agency as Ty Simpson. You're not repped by that agency. So you can give a real unbiased opinion. Do you see this kid as a first round talent or do you see this as more of a positional
need in a weak quarterback class? Like what do you think this kid's ceiling actually is? Is he someone you look at and maybe the rookie of the year market, if you're high on him, or is he a project that is just a beneficiary of a really weak quarterback class? So I wouldn't consider him to be an offensive rookie of the year candidate because I think that with that small sample size of playing time, that he does need to sit. He shouldn't step on the field in his first year. They need to wherever he goes needs to be very patient with his process of development. But there's a really annoying thing that with this week with Ty Simpson is that I felt like I was high on Ty Simpson and I felt like I was conservative about how excited I was about him as a prospect. But with this overblown drama with Dan Erlovsky, it kind of created this weird feeling that if you like Ty Simpson, you have to say that he's a top five pick. You have to say that he is not far off from Fernando Mendoza. I think that it's capable for us to have a discussion about Ty Simpson and recognize that
there are flaws to him, which I just brought up there, the lack of experience, lack of playing time. But the thing that I loved about him, I always thought he was a first run prospect. And Erlovsky touched on this, but completely blew it out of proportion by trying to compare him to Fernando Mendoza. Ty Simpson carried Alabama times this year. Their offensive line was atrocious down the stretch. They could not run the ball. Ryan Williams forgot how to play receiver. Nobody was catching the ball and there were brutal drops across the board. I felt like Ty Simpson, for the most part, and some of their biggest wins and also some of their worst losses was the only thing that kept them in games. And he was a fighter. I thought that that ability for him to just keep showing up and stepping up with all the adversity he was going through, that stands out to me. Not to mention the fact that he's got a good arm. He's really accurate. He improvises really well. I also think that the one surprising thing for a quarterback who's played as little as he had, he is super decisive. That is translatable for him in year two to become a quality starting quarterback.
To me, reminds me of Brock Pertie. I think that if a team drafts him in the end of the first round, middle of the first round, and he becomes their Brock Pertie, that's a home run. Do you see ever in that upper echelon of a top 10 quarterback? No, probably not. But do you see reliable and do you see somebody that you can build around? Absolutely. I think that he, to me, is definitely a first round pick. I'm going to Joe De Leon of A-Z Sports. So you can go in and you can bet what player might go to what team and you have some thoughts here on who the commanders might take. Yeah, well, so this was more related to Jeremiah Love and his best landing spot. And I really like getting plus odds on him ending up with the, with the commanders a little bit further down the line in terms of odds that you can grab right now. It's Titans and Giants, depending on which outlet that you look at for the first two. And I just feel as though that the Titans, as much as they might be interested in taking Jeremiah Love and the Absolute, could take him there. It feels like they've got other needs that they need to address.
It feels like the Giants absolutely have defensive needs and offensive line needs that they need to address before they dip their toes into drafting a running back. I feel like the commanders sitting where they are is not only a perfect landing spot for Jeremiah Love, but I also feel for the value with that, that placement of him having the third, the commanders having the third best odds and him possibly making sense with that franchise. That is a bet that I'm willing to place right now. I wonder how things are going to transpire and move over the next couple of weeks or so. But I feel like Jeremiah Love going into the commanders makes a lot of sense if the Titans and the Giants choose to address defense instead of drafting him. Few things are as uplifting as the greatest moments in sports and nothing brings us together quite like team USA at the Olympic winter games from NBC Universal's iconic storytelling to the innovative technology across Xfinity and peacock. Comcast brings the Olympic Games home to America, sharing every moment with millions. When team USA steps onto the world stage, we're not just watching, we're cheering together.
Last winter, we're all on the same team, Comcast Proud Partner of Team USA. Welcome back to Ready, Set, Bet with Matt Brown and Mike Sommage on Vsyn, Vs Sports Betty Network. First, I bet we're going along here on Vsyn, Matt Brown, just a raw low and major league baseball. I was very excited for actual opening day, not opening evening, so opening day, the whole Netflix game just kind of threw me for a loop there, but opening day was awesome, a couple games into the season now, Joe, and you know, I know you're a big baseball guy. I love me some baseball as well, and I'm ready to, I'm ready to dig right in, sink my claws in. You know, we're small sample size right now, so we're dealing with data from either spring training or last season, or you're just kind of going on gut type of stuff because, you know, baseball, one of the very best things for us to use statistics and try to use those
to predict what's going to happen moving forward. Yeah, man. Look, you know, April and May, I always say be patient, it is a long season. It's a marathon, not a sprint. I, you know, over tracking this the last three seasons make the bulk of my money, June, July, August, but hey, you know, I went over one in that Yankees Giants game with a prop on an opening night, like you called it, which I could have done without, I took Logan Web over 16 and a half outs. I won, you know, Dustin Svetlson always talks about CLV, right? And anytime he and I are on together, we laugh about all of the instances where people tout it and brag about it, and then it doesn't matter, like I got over 16 and a half outs for Logan Web even money, and it closed minus 135, look like, I mean, this guy, he's gone six innings on opening day before plenty of times, he always goes deep in the games. He gets chased early, the CLV doesn't matter at all, it's a loser regardless. Then opening day rolled around though, and I went three and a, so, you know, April, I always say bet lighter, don't, you know, you don't have to bet on every game, you don't eat five or seven on your card, it's okay to have two or three and, you know, get a
feel for the season, but hey, we came out hot opening day and I want to keep it going here today. And just like we all thought, the, the AL West leading Los Angeles Angels as they are two and a, just like we all just like we all thought, we'll get to that, of course, as they start the season two and O, but we're going to have first pitch at 11, 15 Pacific. That's going to be the raise in the Cardinals. So that's going to start the day for Major League Baseball, but you're going to look at least a first five year over with the Cubs. Yeah, I think this is a great bounce back spot for Chicago. You know, Matt Boyd came out and he looked great early for the Cubs. He had seven strikeouts in the first three innings and then he just hit a wall. The Nationals offense produced way more than I think anyone was expecting opening day at Riggly. And then that's get a great win as a pretty pricey dog there. I think they were even longer odds in there plus two 12 that you just saw on your screen here today. Great bounce back spot for Chicago. Problem is the price. You got to get creative and you know, run lines with home teams, not the most ideal
situation. Money line is too juicy. I love a market that I know your buddy Mike Sommage loves right here on the show. And that's to not bat in the bottom of the ninth inning. I believe that's still pretty exclusive to draft Kings that market. I've got one of those later, not in this game because in this one, that's still like minus 160. So here's what I looked at Miles Michaelis. I didn't know he was still in baseball. Yeah. I mean, this guy thinks I had a brutal spring training too. I mean, like, there's like nothing to like about Michaelis. That is for sure. Like, I don't say this often, but I look at a guy like Miles Michaelis. And I'm like, what does he have that I don't that's keeping him in this league? I mean, does the guy top 90? I will say his fastball moves, but it's painful. Like he's a batting practice pitcher. I would take retired Kyle Hendricks over Miles Michaelis right here in 2026. So you look at him against the Cubs. There's a Cubs lineup that's seen him plenty, right? He's a career or almost a career St. Louis carnal. The bulk of his time in the league has been with St. Louis. They're hitting 305 against him 57 for 187 with 11 home runs.
Michael Bush five for 16 against him with three homers. How about Pete Crowe Armstrong Matt? He's seven for nine against them with five home runs video game numbers against Michaelis. So I think the Cubs are going to score. Now, it's just a matter of what's the best way to bet it. Well, Miles Michaelis on draft Kings over two and a half earned runs is minus 140. But here's a correlated play to that where A, the runs don't have to be earned. And B, it doesn't just have to be all Michaelis. And C, it's a better price. You can take the Cubs first five team total over two and a half at minus 125. So you're saving 15 cents and someone might say, well, what if Michaelis goes six? He's not going six. His over under on how it's recorded is 14 and a half or 15 and a half depending on the shop. So Michaelis is likely at best going to go five. If he gets chased earlier, it's probably because he gave up more than two and a half runs. Earned runs doesn't matter. Give me the Cubs first five team total over two and a half.
Yeah, and it's very early in the season. So you're getting the lineup that you would expect. So it's the same we would expect from the Cubs here. Love, love, love. Like I said, Michaelis had a brutal spring training too. So it's like it's not even there's nothing to really hold on to or latch on to here about him. This Washington team is going to be terrible this year and they're going to continue to roll out some terrible starters. So let's get to Dylan Seas prop here. Yeah, you know, look, this one's a little risky because Dylan Seas absolutely stunk last year. But I decided to roll with the same game parlay in this one and I did it opening day with the red socks with Garrett crochet and Boston money line. And I got it even money. It was an alt strikeout mark for crochet. His number was seven and a half. I took him six plus K's socks money line, even money got home there. I'm taking Dylan Seas six plus K's. And Toronto money line. I'm laying 15 cents, but I'm comfortable with that. Look, Seas is number depending on where you go. It's either over six and a half minus 50 cents or over seven and a half plus money. I'm just asking for six here and the J's to win against Jeffrey Springs.
Despite Dylan Seas's struggles last year, 11 and a half K's per nine was the second best mark of his career. You look at the metrics 95th percentile in with rate 89th percentile in K rate 80th percentile in chase rate. So when he got hit, he got hit hard and he struggled with control immensely, but he was still striking guys out at a high rate. I'm not asking for eight. I'm asking for six because last year, his big issue was going deep into games. Well, if he goes five innings, he should get six, seven, maybe even eight strikeouts. So six is conservative. I think Toronto wins. I love the lineup. I like the matchup against Springs. They hit lefty as well. They put the ball in play. Springs not a strikeout guy anyway. So there will be a lot of contact for the blue J's. Give me that same game, Parley minus 115. A's all of three hits yesterday against the blue J's two of those did leave the yard, but only three hits in the in the game there is the blue J's take that one three to two. One more here. The Orioles are going to be hosting the twins as Taj Bradley and Kyle Brattish.
If you're playing the full game minus 170 ish on the Orioles seven and a half, the total there in that one plus one 40 coming back on the twins. What are you looking at in that one? Man, I love this Orioles team and you know pitching and specifically pitching depth is going to be their big question mark all season long. I do believe they'll address it at the deadline if they're really in contention, but I just noticed you can still bet on the race to 10 wins in Major League Baseball and Baltimore is 20 to one on the race to 10 wins. And you look at their schedule, man. They're hosting a Minnesota team that I'm down on. Then they host a Texas team that I'm down on. And then when they have to go on the road, they're at Pittsburgh and at the White Sox. I mean, I don't think it's a bad call to look at the Orioles 20 to one in the race to 10 wins. But right here right now, I'm going with the Salmage play. Baltimore to not bat in the bottom of the ninth inning. Now I got it last night at minus 105 around 1am my time. It's currently minus 115. I would still play it here. And this has to do with both starting pitchers.
Taj Bradley thinking against the Orioles. You'll look at his career at Camden Yards, two starts, eight and two thirds. And he's pitched 14 earned runs. I would say that's pretty damn bad. Current O's hitters, 350 average against some five home runs and OPS over a thousand. And then Kyle Bradish on the flip side, really damn good. Now we haven't seen a lot of Bradish the last two years. He has struggled to stay healthy. He's made just 14 starts the last two seasons. But how about his K-Rate? Over 12 and a half K's per nine in those 14 starts. His slider and his curveball generate a ton of whips. Matt, we both used to pitch. You know this, not too many guys have two plus breaking balls. Usually it's one of the other. Bradish has two of them. Now he rarely exceeds 85, 90 pitches. So I was looking at him in the prop market. But it's tough for me to get there on opening day knowing he's going to be heavily restricted. I think however long he's out there though, he shoves. I think Baltimore hits Taj Bradley well. And I don't think they'll need to bat in the bottom of the night. A lot of swinging miss in that Minnesota lineup too, man.
I'm looking at this. It's confirmed Clemens is in there today. Walnard's in there. Larnock is in there. Those are all guys is high, high, high K-Rate. So a lot of swinging miss on that side as well. I hope your or you'll love does manifest here is I have them all the ways. I have all the Orioles. So hopefully that does get home for you. That lineup actually not confirmed quite yet.
