This is ready, set bet with Matt Brown and Mike Sommage on Fysand, these sports betting network. Greg Sampett here on Vs. and these sports betting network, Matt Brown and Mike Sommage still won nothing, Rangers over the Red Wings. That is under seven minutes left in the second period and we are at intermission. It is the wild two to nothing over the Senators there. And that one and Mike over and majorly based what this is going to be such a horrific thing. You're going to win yours and I'm going to lose mine in the handicap was good. May is still trash, but like when he gets these guys out, he's striking them out. So it's just, it's just, it's unfortunate. He's already thrown 56 pitches and we're not done with the second inning yet. And yet he's going to, we just get the guy throwing out a second, trying to stretch a single into a double. So he's going to get out of this one unscathed again, but it's just crazy. Guys not any good, but he's striking enough guys out that I'm going to lose his bet.

Four Ks through two. So you've got one to give, probably two innings left for him. So we'll see if he's able to get that one more K. We'll just blow up in the bottom of the third and get chased from the game. That's what we're rooting for. This was the old, he beat the throw, but then came off the bag and the guy held the tag on him the whole time and then and then he was out at second base. So that's a Tigers going to take a three nothing lead to the top of the third in which Jack Flaherty still has a no hit or going, even though he himself has not been incredibly sharp either. So we'll let you know how that one goes, but now joining us here on the progressive guest line, Tim McCormick at Tim McCormick 40 over on the turns, we're talking all American and Michigan. We're talking number 12 overall pick in the NBA draft eight year NBA career here. Appreciate you giving us the time. Mike and Matt, thanks so much. Really excited about the game, so I know you are too. Yeah, we cannot wait to get these things going and I do, I understand that there might be a tiny bit of bias in the handicap and all of that. It's tough for you to look at these games.

I'm sure completely throughout without any sort of rose colored glasses on. So that's just start at the first game then and then we'll ease in to the game that everybody's calling the de facto national championship as it is anyway. Illinois and Yukon, Yukon, I want to know what, especially someone who's been there done that because me and Mike started off the show saying, I can tip my cap for Yukon coming back on Duke like they did and I think that is unbelievable that they didn't give up and they fought back and all of this from 19 points down. However, they were 19 points down like they found themselves 19 points down in the game. Is this the wrong way to look at this that I'm like, how do you get yourself 19 points down in the first place? Yeah, we'll do got off the hot start and Yukon faded for a while, but I think that Dan Hurley has a championship culture there. The expectation is to compete on the national level for the highest stage. Alex Caravan is their leader, but I also really like Malachai Smith. He's at date for most of his career. Terrace Reed was a backup to Hunter Dickinson at Michigan for two years and so he's been

well schooled and groomed. Sometimes when you watch a team play during the year and they don't happen to play well in that game, it seemed like every time I watch Yukon play during the regular season, they had an off game or they just didn't really impress me that much and it was more a function of me picking the wrong games to watch because in this NCAA tournament, their guard play is spectacular. They rebound, they do all the little things and I think this is going to be a real good game. However, I do like Illinois. They played during the regular season and Yukon beat Illinois pretty handily, but story ock of it. You only had one bucket. Wagler only had three points. I think that Illinois is really improved and I think it's going to be a close game, but I anticipate the line I win. Yeah, it's been interesting to see Illinois's progression throughout the season. Obviously eight losses, many more than Yukon's three, but this is a team that's been playing their best basketball as we've gone toward the end of the season.

You mentioned the defensive side when we were talking in the break there, what do you expect from this Illinois defense? Are they going to be able to get enough stops because that's been their biggest issue as they've gone out through the season is on the defensive end against this Yukon team that can shoot the ball well? Yeah, I don't love Illinois's defense. I think that's a flop. Part of it is because they're so darn long, they've got seven footers everywhere that make threes, but when you look at the fact that when you play Yukon, I wouldn't be afraid for Illinois to zone them, play a little bit compact. I'm never a big fan of counting on teams making threes in a dome. I talked to Nick Stoskis the other day on my podcast and he shared that it took him a full game before he really started feeling comfortable with the background. That's a big advantage for I think Illinois and also on the boards with their size. Once again, Terrace Reed was in foul trouble when they played earlier this year.

He didn't score a bucket and so he's had a really nice season, but I also think that he really struggles if he's got a shoot over the top of length on defense. That's a key match up to watch. Tim McCormick, former All-American at Michigan, also host of the Michigan basketball insider podcast before we move on to the next game, high scoring game, low scoring game somewhere in the middle. What do you think? How do you think this one eventually plays out? Yeah, I think the tempo will be quick. I think the over under I take 165, which I think is a pretty high number. So I do think these are two electrifying teams offensively and both of them will want to run, especially you kind, you know, with that shot blocking for Illinois, I don't think that I would want to play against a half court defense where you've got to try to make jump shots. All right. Let's move over to what people are calling the de facto national title game. You've got Michigan taking on Arizona spread right now anywhere from one to one and a

half in favor of the Wolverines in a big talk around this game, something you mentioned, the three point shooting for Michigan and the lack thereof for Arizona. They shoot the ball decently from three. They just don't take very many really focus on their two point game, whereas Michigan has multiple guys can go out there and bang down threes in a dome. Feels like that's one of Michigan's big advantages in this game or you worried that's going to be neutralized by the fact that they are playing in a dome stadium for the first time here. Well, I'm not worried about it because Michigan has shown the ability to play in transition and they've got a really good post game as a matter of fact. I think the Arizona and Michigan have the two elite post games in all college basketball. There's six big guys playing in this game. All six will be in the NBA next year and the other thing that's kind of interesting to me. I'm more interested to see how the three freshman starters for Arizona respond to this environment. Remember Michigan plays five seniors and two juniors and older players should be a little

bit more easily acclimated to that environment. Tim, you've played all over the place and this is kind of one of the things that is a narrative amongst our kind of setting over here in the sports betting world, which is, okay, these college kids are now moving to a football stadium and it's this huge stadium and it's different sight lines and it looks different when you're shooting. You've talked to these players. You've been there. You've played in these different places all over the place. Is this a real there? Is this a real thing or are we just trying to create a narrative in all of this? Is it really that much harder to shoot in these different places? Is it really going to make it where these guys can't can't scores often? I grew up and played outdoors and so it's a more expansive background in my backyard you can see forever. My rookie year I played in Seattle at the kingdom and I feel like the entire first year I struggled with the background. But then again, there's plenty of guys that make shots and it doesn't affect them.

Maybe mentally I was just really weak and struggling with it, but it's definitely something to keep an eye on. And maybe more so than the background that when you've got 70,000 people and it'll be the loudest game you've ever experienced, that has a lot to do with it too. Also, both of these teams are just exceptional on the defensive end. They'll protect the lane really well, they block shots, and then they collect rebounds. So I've gone back and forth guys, I've come up with all kinds of different scenarios. I laid in bed last night trying to imagine what if so and so gets off to quick start. What if there's fall trouble? I can't really find a determining factor other than the fact that I do believe that Arizona can get a Diamara and Marez Johnson from Michigan in fall trouble. That would be a massive problem for the Wolverines. Also the point guard matchup with Jaden Bradley and Elliott Cado is one to sit back at and

really enjoy. If you like your point guard play, then this is one that you're going to enjoy a lot. One thing I have a buddy who's a big Arizona fan went to the school and he was harping last night on the fact that Arizona one of the best pick and roll teams in college basketball. If there's one place you can poke a hole in the Michigan defense, it's on the pick and roll. Are you worried about the pick and roll heading into this game and then how Michigan's able to handle that? You mentioned the foul trouble. Is that an area where that could really kind of jump out? Well, I'm more worried about Mo crevice going right into a Diamara and drawing fouls in Michigan's last five or six games. There's been a couple of contests where he has gotten into foul trouble, but you bring up a really good point about pick and roll. It's a big part of both teams' offense and Cado and Bradley are just, you know, they're sensational in the screen game. Now Crevice plays a drop coverage and so does a Diamara.

So I'll be keeping a close eye when those guys, they get an elbow screen game and the big men for Arizona, Michigan drop back to protect the rim. There's going to be a lot of big range open for the point guard. So it's a really important part of this game to keep an eye on. He is Tim McCormick. You can find him at Tim McCormick 40 over on the Twitter machine. Of course, check out Michigan basketball insider podcast as well. Tim, hopefully you'll be making that drive, my man. Thank you. Enjoy the game. It really should be a treat for all of us. Appreciate it. No, good luck. Thank you. McCormick again, this is guys a first round pick in the NBA draft, all American over there at Michigan and Mike. It's good to hear a guy who's been there, done that kind of mentioned the thing that we talked about, which is what are the, what role the refs going to play in this game between Arizona and Michigan? And you know, again, guys, I know it's a long time to tip and whatever, but keep in the back your mind as you're watching. You're like, man, this a lot of whistles early in this thing or wow, they're really swallowing the whistle.

It could definitely lead you to an in game back here. The tighter this game gets called, the bigger advantage it is for Arizona. If this is a let them play game, you got to like Michigan. When we come back, we'll take a look at that scoreboard out there. This stink fest of a pitching matchup that's going on right and Detroit is heating up. Welcome back to Ready, said bet with Matt Brown and Mike Sommage on V-Syn. These sports betting network. Chris have been here on these news, sports betting network, Matt Brown, Mike Sommage, we are too nothing now. I know one left in the second period. The Rangers are up on the red wing. So it doesn't really matter to us though, Mike. This was a this was a first period bed. And what happens after that? You couldn't possibly care less. No, I couldn't. Yeah.

My under one and a half plus 105's home, they can score all the goals they want now. I don't care if the Wings win, if the Rangers win, just wanted that first period under, which fortunately got home for us. Now it's all eyes on this Tigers Cardinals game, which is not a pretty watch right now going the correct direction for me. Yes, it is another hit given up by May in this thing. He is up to he's up to 61 pitches. Now Flair, he's already at 63 pitch. We got 120 pitches between these two guys in the third inning because they are so inefficient with with what's going on here. Every count gets to like 3132, like every single tie is just it's unbelievable. But as of right now, I can I can only afford, I know I can't afford any more strikeouts. You got nothing. Nothing. I got no more things. You need him. You need him chased. I got no leeway. I'm yeah, I got to get him chased here or somebody somebody's hit a home run, who's up right now? Glabor Torres. Glabor Torres needs to hit a home run right now and get him out of there because this would about the only thing that could that could save me a 2 2 count on him as well.

Great. What could go wrong here, Mike? It's like the good, good handy caps gone bad where it's just kind of like, hey, I think Dustin May is terrible and like he is, but yeah, you know, oh, Glabor Torres, not a hit, but he advanced the runner to third. So, okay. All right, probably going to get another run across here for the Tigers and that's going to help you in your endeavor to get the first five home on them though. The Cardinals did get a run in the top of the third three to one right now runner on third or Detroit with one out there in that one. We did get going in those other two early games as well, but they just got started Milwaukee and Kansas cities in the top of the first though we did get a we do have a runner on right now for Milwaukee there in that one in the Toronto and the White Sox are going as well. Bottom of the first over there. And that one. Yeah, two on one out right now for the brewers in the top of the first would be nice for you. You've got brewers minus one 10 in that game to get this started with a little crooked number. We'll see if yellows able to do anything at the plate, a clean top of the first for

the Blue Jays as they did not get a hit. So the White Sox bag now bottom of the first just coming up to the plate will keep you posted. All three of these games as we get further into it. It's like I said, I, I wanted to play the Jays, but it's just this team, they will turn it around. There's too much talent on this team turn around. But boy, this, this has been a very underwhelming team so far. Yeah, not ecstatic with how this season has started and then with the Kirk injury that that kind of adds to some of the issues that we're seeing with this Blue Jays team. I do a long-term trust them. It's just I was hoping that the Yankees would not start the way that the Yankees have started, but they have been absolutely red hot to kick off the air despite air and judge not performing and that makes the Blue Jays start despite it being just four and three a little concerning here. All right. All right. Another run across for Detroit. I don't know if it was on a hit or if it was on the sacrifice fly or what, but we, uh, we have another run across there for four of them. So it's going to be four to one now in favor of Detroit over the Cardinals. Let's chase him.

Come on. Oh, no, it was a. No, it was sacrifice fly. Never mind. That's not not getting chased over sacrifice fly. So that's unfortunate. Probably not, but we are, we are getting up in the pitch count again. He's given up five hits, four runs. He's got four Ks, but also two walks, uh, so we're at 67 pitches here. I mean, maybe just one more inning that you have to say, right? If we get through this, they might just, they could pull the plug if we can get through this inning because he's going to be over 70 pitches. Yeah. If he's like 74 going after this inning, then maybe you get him taken out. If not, the fourth is his last inning. So you essentially have at worst case four outs left here for Dustin May, uh, to get one strikeout for you to, to not be a winner. So hopefully we just, uh, we, we chase him here here. But if not, no strikeouts in the fourth. That's all you're looking for. Yeah. Let's, let's talk about the good. The good is that May has struggled. The bad is that Riley Green is batting and he strikes out of time. So this is like, we have, we've got a lot of stuff going on. A lot of emotions right now that are, that are happening. Big contact, right?

Yeah. Yeah. I'm like, I don't care what you do. Pop out. Yeah, he did. He popped out. There we go. All right. He popped out. So there we go. All right. So we're through that inning. Uh, 41 Tigers over the Cardinals. Uh, we got another tweet here from, uh, from, from, from Shoms. The bucks have told NBA investigators that Yannis declined the opportunity to play three on three scrimmages as part of a return protocol from a mid March knee injury. This is co according to sources. And so of course, as we said at the top of the show, Mike, uh, Yannis told the league. He is healthy enough to resume action. So now we have come into the, he said, she said whether he did or did not say he would play three on three scrimmages and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So this is going to be drama here for the next couple of weeks. And look, this is like, this is when you know the breakups coming now, right? Like, you didn't need to do this, bucks, like, you didn't need to do this, Yannis. This is, this is bad for the bucks because now he's going to get traded, right?

And you didn't get the assets you needed to a year ago when you could have moved him. You're in a situation where you're trying to get as high as traffic, but you played him again after the trade deadline. I, this is just, this has been woefully mishandled by both sides here. And now it's going to be an ugly breakup. It looks like speaking of the NBA, the awards are a hot topic. They did a straw poll. How did that all turn out? Well, it was overwhelmingly in favor of shaggyl just Alexander. So SGA now moves in the betting market, Mike. Like they, they took the straw poll to heart minus 1600 now for MVP. I thought I had a good bet in on Wimbee. I think I mean, whatever. Anytime you get a guy at 33 to one, he works his way down to eight to one. I guess it is a good bet at the end of the day, but I, I can't make any money off this ticket with the, with it moving out to minus 1600 now at this point. And there's probably very little that Wimbee can do over the last five games to change this. Unless he just goes like 50 and 20, you know, like the last five games of the season or

whatever. So it is what it is. I mean, it's, it was a well timed good bet that it's just, it's going to just be a loss for me. And I can't make any money off of it. Yeah. I look shake came back sooner than you thought. That was a negative to your bet. And like part of the handicap was this first probably need the one seed right now. They're two back of the thunder to be able to get that one seed. As we see like a quadruple double with 50 points from Wimbee and they get the one. Maybe there's a world, but it feels like it shades award at this point. Yeah. And like I said, the whole thought was is he would play his way into the conversation. Maybe you can monetize the ticket and then like this straw poll came out and it's just done so now. There's just nothing. No way to monetize the ticket at all because I was kind of holding out like you said, it's, they're only two games back, like catching OKC. I understand OKC's on fire just like the spurs are, but like it is well within the range of outcomes that they were, they would be able to catch them. And I'm like, OK, now that would be where I can jump in and make sure that I make some money. And then of course they have to do this with five games left in the season.

And now it's just impossible to bet. Yeah. Just shut down. Yeah. Well, it's just impossible to bet. So it is over in the rookie of the year, Konkenepple was the overwhelming. I thought I knew that he would probably win the straw poll, Mike, but like overwhelming 80 of the 100 first place votes to con Cooper flag gets the other 20 obviously and the vast majority of the second place votes. But I mean, these have always been very, very indicative of how the votes are going to turn out and all of that. Like I'm surprised that that that was that big of a difference between con and flag. I understand Cooper had to miss some time. And then the team probably held him out a little bit longer than they had to because again, they're trying to lose as well. But boy, that's a, that's a big disparity. It is. I think team success plays into this quite a bit where you're seeing Kon basically get a revived Charlotte Hornets franchise into the playoffs obviously with help from Miller and ball and everybody else on the team, but Konkenepp, a huge part of that turnaround

that we've seen from Charlotte this year. I also want to say this was done before the 50 point game by flag. I would be interested to see if you did this now, would we see some adjustment back to the mean there? I think Kon's going to win the award. I would vote for Kon right now, but I do think that that if we see Cooper flag, what if he does this twice more in the last five games, is he at least in the conversation? Probably, I'm not running to the window to bet it, but I think that this would have been interesting to happen after last night's games versus before. Yeah. During minus 350 for Kon plus 240 for flag. If you had a, I'll put it this way, it is still voted on by humans and I understand these are humans in the straw poll and all of that. I guess I would say this that if you have a very, very strong ticket on Kon taking a tiny little piece of Cooper flag to make sure that you don't come, go away, empty handed, I would probably say plus 240, it's still, it's still a decent little number on Cooper flag. I mean, I would, I would hate that you were so confident that Kon was going to get it.

And then at the end of the day, you kind of get hoodwinked with, with all that because with the ranked choice voting, Mike, I mean, like it could get wonky, right? If some of those guys do move from Kon to Cooper flag and then some of those second-place votes start going other places and all that, like it could get weird. It could get weird. The thing with this though is, like if you don't have those two first and second on your ballot, what are you doing? Yeah. I don't see a third guy that can really take away from the second-place votes. And it feels like when you're 80, 20 split, you not only would need flag to drastically close the gap, you would also need Kon to fall the third in some of those ballots. I just don't see a world where that happens. It feels like it may be too big of a mountain to climb here, Cooper flag coming down the wire. And the other problem here, Kon was never a monster price. He was never 50 to one in the rookie of the year market. So if you do have a very nice ticket out there, you're probably staring at like a seven to one number and makes it a little less intriguing to kind of come back and then hedge part of it off. Yeah, I'm trying to remember what Kelly Bidlin has a really good ticket on Kon. I can't remember what the actual price was, but he's going to get paid.

We'll give you our final final four thoughts when we come back, update the scoreboard and look at these NFL draft position over unders. Welcome back to ready, set bet with Matt Brown and Mike Sommage on Vs in these force betting network. Pretty set bet here on Vs in to run shot in the bottom of the fourth of the Detroit Tigers six to one. So Sommage looking very, very good. I still have to dodge a strike out because they're going to leave Dustin May out there to die on the hill. So I actually die on the hill like this is, this is not a figure of speech. He is going to go out there and just die on the hill here. They're going to leave him out there and unfortunately I have the number nine hitter in the lineup up against him. Oh, yes. He popped out. This is good. This is good. This is. Oh, no, it's down for a hit. That's a double. That's a triple. I mean, May is thrown 78 pitches through three and a third.

He cannot be long for this game. You just need contact for them the next next couple of hitters to be able to get through this. How about that? That's, that's contact. That certainly helps though, they have not cut to the dugout and we're not getting the slow walk yet. Mike, I don't, I don't see the slow walk. Cardinals don't care. They're out to the mound. Yeah. The car needs to meander out to the mound. Cardinals don't care about the season. They're like, you know what? This is a rebuilding here. Anyway, we don't care. We will leave Dustin May out there to, to let it go. Let's see. Oh, no. Kelly didn't. You're right. Kelly didn't have a huge number on Khan. He came in later. So you're right. He has, he has single digits on him as well. I don't think there were many huge numbers on Khan. Like I, I don't remember him being a huge price there. He was, he was one of the players that was kind of right from the jump thought up to be a very good rookie. So he's not someone who was sitting on the board at a hundred to one pre flop, anything like that. So I would be interested to see what it's in like, it's hard to hedge a seven to one. It's hard to hedge it to one, right? There's just not enough meat on the bone to really come back on the other side, especially

when you're in such a good position. You probably would have had to, yeah, like the, at some point in the season, when Cooper flag was, there may have been a tend to one opportunity. Maybe at some point in the season, but, but it probably was not very long that it was out there. I don't think there was. Like we talked about when he was, when he was not playing, he was like plus one twenty five at one point. And so I don't think that I ever got out to a long enough number where you're kind of sitting on both sides here. So to me, it's probably one of those where, especially after we saw this drop, well, you're just rolling with, with, with who you got here and hoping that you get at home. As you mentioned, too, nothing there in the top of the second for the brewers. So good stuff there and that one, like I said, it wasn't, I was not betting on Patrick as much as I was just being against the Royals maze out. Your winner, Dustin May done for the game there after three and a third after that triple. So you, uh, you are safe and you cash your under four and a half strikeouts good start for the day here. I already set back.

Hey, not a, no sweat at all out there, guys, if you, if you, if you were tailing out, we know we didn't, we didn't have to worry about it at all. Thank you to, I'm, let me, let me give it, we're to Parker Meadows, who was hitting one 58 heading into that triple right there. So thank you to Parker Meadows for hitting the triple and, uh, chasing Dustin May. And, uh, we're going to, uh, we're going to catch that one. So good stuff. Two for two on the show already. All right, looking good for three for three as well. So we've got the, the Tigers minus a half run first five and, uh, up six to one with a runner on third and only three outs left for the Cardinals looks, looks pretty good. Again, promo code, Vs IN over there at cut. I'm going to check back in Mike Sommage because last time we looked, they were on weather delay over at, uh, the Valero and it is still suspended. So we are still where we were whenever we, uh, came on the air. So that's, that is going to be interesting. That's going to be interesting, especially for a guy like Ludwig, you want to win, but like if they can't get back out there today and they got to come back tomorrow and play like 29 holes and whatever and then you're trying to go over and play the master, like, I'm not saying he's going to withdraw, but like again, the masters is more important to him, even the Valero. It will be interesting if this is a tournament that ends on Monday. If you end up not being able to get all the holes in tomorrow, like what decisions people make and if they want to go back and play that final round with the masters looming. Yeah. I mean, if it was anybody other than Ludwig, who's won already on two, he's got tons of

money. Like, yes, you don't want to turn down a big paycheck here, but you don't want to, you don't want to play 30 holes on Sunday and then have to fly over to Augusta. That is not what you want to do. Not ideal. Not ideal, man. We'll see. We'll keep an eye on the weather there in that one, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is not able, if they're not able to get back out there today that we don't see Ludwig say, appreciate it. I'm going to hop on my net jets out here and I'm going to head on over to Augusta. So with that in mind, do you take Mac and Tyre minus 116? In about two hours, if they're still not out there, then yes, you know, like if they're still not out there, I would because I think that there's, if there's business decisions to be made, for sure, you know, because if you take out Ludwig, you've got Mac and Tyre who's got a four stroke lead on the rest of the field and still quite a few holes over

them as well. So a very good position for him if Oberg not in the tournament. Yeah, that's something like I said, we won't, we won't be on air. But definitely something to monitor there in that one, like if they're not going to get in the next couple hours, they're going to have to play a ton of golf tomorrow leading into the masters. Somebody like Ludwig might just make a business decision and say like, hey, sorry, but I'm not going to wear myself out on Sunday and then head to Augusta, you know, just not going to do it. And worst case scenario, you got a two stroke leader minus 116, like it's not a terrible position to be in any way and then you could obviously get a much more profitable position there. If you do end up without over finishing this turn, there's another one in across for you, Mike, so much so seven to one in the bottom of the fourth right now again, just got to get through the top of the fifth inning without flirty, just completely imploding and even if he does a reliever would then also have to implode because it's a six run, yeah, it's a six run lead that you have right now. So they're not going to leave him out there to blow this lead.

So it would have to be him and a reliever. Yeah, we are officially in bad beat territory here. If the Tigers do not win the first five by a half run, um, might be cocktail time for your boy. Yes, seriously, little day drinking there on that one, the white socks get one in the bottom of the first. So they have a one nothing lead on the blue jays. Um, again, I have a season over on the white socks. It was mainly based off of the fact that there is some talent on this team and I think over the course of a season, they're ridiculously low, like 63 and a half, 64 and a half win total that they could win, they could possibly win 70 games. You're still a horrible team if you win 70 games, but I mean, you know, like you could, you can do that. Um, they've won two, they're two and five, uh, so far, but man, the pitching staff is going to be the pitching staff is going to be a problem there for the white socks for sure. They've got a couple of prospects. I just don't know if they'll call them up this year, um, given that they know they're going to be terrible. Like the pirates who, by the way, go ahead, you get the deal done and then you call your

stud up and people are looking and people are going, this guy has not played one single at bat in the major leagues and he's getting 140 million. They're calling him the best prospects since Mike trout. I mean, like, come on, but it's worth it. You're going to save yourself a hundred and a hundred plus million dollars if he pans out. So you're giving him nine years, 140, Mike, I mean, like, if he, if you, if you, if you wait till he's eligible for a contract, he's going to get 30 a year. Well, and, and you also wear the pirates where you, you can't pay him the money that he couldn't be worth down the line. So one way to try and find a way to compete with the, the pictures that you have coming up through your organization and schemes who's already there is to just lock them up early and then trade them at the end of this contract and try and get assets back for them because this isn't a pirate team that's going to try and compete for the next 15 years with them. So you just do what you can now because you understand where you are from a financial aspect. You got him till he's 27. I mean, like, that's, that's awesome. That's great. Yeah. That's, that's amazing. I mean, you, you got him through where he is going to, to, to enter into his, into his

prime and, and all that. And then you mentioned this young, young pitching staff there. Obviously, we know about schemes, Bubba Chandler, look, he walked too many people, but he didn't give up a hit. I mean, you don't love that he walked. I think it was five or whatever, but I mean, like in his, in his first, but he didn't give up a hit. So you dial in the control a little bit there. You got him. Like we said, Jared Jones will be back somewhere sometime down the line here for them. So I don't know, man, I'm, I am irrationally high on this pirate's team. Like, I told you, everyone knows I've got the bets on them and all that, everything's like that. But I mean, you know, four and three start, I think that's where I think they can be like a slightly above five hundred ten. I really do believe that when you look at, like, we talked about this. This is, we, we, we, you, you, you have, you like them. You have the over on them. I have them to win the NL. I just wanted to make the playoffs. Yeah. A series with schemes with, with Chandler and hopefully with Jones is your one, two, three. And let's see where the chips fall. Right? Because you can get a good price on them. I just need to make the wild card. I don't need them to beat the Cubs in the division. Don't need them to beat the brews in the division. Just need to be a wild card and get into those series.

Yeah. Connor Griffin. If you didn't see yesterday too, when he had that RBI double, you would have thought they won the World Series. I mean, like, all the guys, you know, up on the rail, the dugout, like going crazy and all that. They, they, Mike, you just know when, when you're them and you see the, like, you know, when you're watching something special and they know they've got something special in this kid. And the vibes are good in Pittsburgh. Who thought we'd be saying that seriously? For pirates. Seriously? Vibes are good. Who thought I'd be such a Pittsburgh Pirates fan? All of a sudden, but here I am. I am. I'm going to be skiing this there. He's the easier Joe Burrow baseball. We'll put a bow in this and we'll come back. Welcome back to Ready, set bet with Matt Brown and Mike Sommage on V-Sin, these BORS Betty Network.

We were hoping to come back and be 3-0 on the show to start things off. And Jack Flaredy has other ideas as he is now getting chased in this game. Seven to two, which is the good thing for Mike Sommage. The bad thing is it is bases loaded no outs because Flaredy is just a man. Like we said, all the stuff in the world, can you imagine having his stuff, but then just not being able to hone it in? Like can you, like the frustration of like going to bed every night and being like, I probably have like a top 30 arm in all a major league baseball and my stuff when it's on is so good. I just cannot throw it over the plate. I mean, I just, it's, it's wild. Yeah, I look, he had six Ks through three innings. I'm sorry, six Ks through four innings. And he starts off the top of the fifth with a hit, hit batsman, his second of the game, walk, double, walk. And now he's chased from the game because he just can't find the strike zone. It's it's frustrating because again, when you watch him, give those moments where it's

like, wow, yeah, that dude can deal and then then he throws it four feet outside. You're like, what's going on? I know. It's like you look, you look at this. So four walks and two hit by bats. I mean, six walks in four innings. I mean, it's just, it's not good. Yeah. I mean, it's just unbelievable. And it does make you wonder about this not overreacting. This is something we've known with Jack Flarety over his curse. So don't sit here and be like, we're small samples. No, this is Jack Flarety and who Jack Flarety is. Yes, you have an awesome one too. Like, scoobled, uh, Fremervile is amazing. You've got an awesome one too. Get to the playoffs with this Detroit team, Mike. Like, is it Casey Myes really? Like, you know, I mean, like, is it, is that where we're going? Who, who's going to be the real number three for this team? You don't know yet. It feels like someone with a, they need, they need to go and make a move at the deadline to add a third picture. You need Myes to, to pan out in the way that a lot of people expected him to to be that three, but you, I don't think we know who that three is yet.

And that's okay. You still have time, but it is a glaring hole. Right now for this Tigers team. Yeah, because it is, like we said, I mean, the pieces are there. When you go up and down this lineup, I mean, like, the, the young guys are performing right now, like, you've got the, the, a couple of the older dudes that are doing on, you, you got it there. But boy, it's, once you get past us top two, you just go, uh, okay, I'm, I'm, I'm not worried, I'm not worried at all about Flarety, Montero or Myes right now. Now, Myes did have a decent, not, we're not even going to call half a season last year. He was good for about three quarters of the season before he flamed out last year. So can he figure out what went south, Mike, you know, at the end of the season last year and try to rekindle what happened at the first three quarters of the season. And so then he would be a decent three for them. Well, and he's pedigried, right? He's, he's one of those highly tired prospects coming up that was expected to be very good in the majors. So you, you could see a world where it's like, okay, we got that first season under the belt. He pitched well for the majority of it. Now he's going to be better this back this full season. So he has the ability to ascend up to be a good number three starter.

It's just the question is if he doesn't get to that point by midway of the season, what do you do? Do you go out and you add an arm since you did spend on Valdez, if you've school, got money in arbitration, right? Like it feels like the window is now, if you're at this tiger's team. Oh boy. I see people trotting. Oh, geez, grand slam. It is now tiger's seven cardinal six, it's still winning. Well, would the parlay have been that you win your bet and I lose my bet happening ago. Oh my God. I mean, this guy just threw a 96 on our fastball right down the middle and Jordan Walker. Hit a grand slant. Wow. And here we are. The sweat is real. Like I said, we were just going to like, we were almost chalk in the three, you know, up. The market is a win. And instead, we're going to sweat three outs now. Yeah. Like the five run top of the fifth with no outs yet, no outs yet, it's still somehow

winning the wager. Yeah. But yeah, now it's just a lot uglier at this point, you need three outs without a run here from the tigers. Absolutely. Crazy. Guys, speaking of betting baseball, if you want to go in, we're going to try to help you. We'll be AI player props over at vason.com. Those are powered by op to AI. So it's the same company we were using for the NFL props and the NBA props. Now we're going into major league baseball with all of that. You can go in. It's both hitters and pitchers and they compare the lines to whatever the draft Kings lines are at the time as well. So vason.com slash MLB props. If you want to give it a go, I know it was outside of the paywall. At least last I checked. So I think you have a little bit more time to go and check it out before it does move behind the paywall here as baseball season progresses, three nothing rangers over the red wings. That's about halfway through the third period. And we are at second intermission, wild up three nothing there on the senators. Yeah, bombs that the senators don't look like they're going to be able to get a point today. Obviously, very highly contested final playoffs spot there in the east, the red wings

and other one of those teams that is in that race. So it looks like they're going to take an L here as well, the senators, which opens up the door for a couple other teams in the east who are playing today. So a god of very good NHL games on the slate. You've got Colorado and Dallas. That game is on ABC after the Detroit and the rangers game finishes. You've got a couple bangers late as well. So it should be a fun day on the ice. I've got one play left out there. We got our first first period under home in that rangers and red wings game later tonight. You've got the Leafs heading to the Kings. I'm on the under one and a half first period that as well. Kings one of the best first period under teams at home in the NHL. See if we can go two for two on these first period under today. Aaron Halterman was on the Canadian, the Sabers, the Blue Jackets and the sharks today, as far as his hockey picks and that Jordan Walker home, I went 459 feet. Yeah. Yeah. It is 459 feet. So it was two outs now, Matt. Yeah. Let's just let's just get one more. It didn't trickle over the wall.

If anyone was wondering that was a 459 footer, you got a hold of that one. Okay. So as we said, we are counting down to the Derby Mike summit. So tell me, where are we? What are we getting over at Keenlin? Yeah. We're going to play a couple of races today. The first one at Keenlin, the bluegrass race number 11 on the card. We're going to go with the number three. Great white. 15 to one on the morning line. Your favorite going to be the number six further ado and I do like further ado. I'm not as high on it on further ado as some people are, but I do think further ado the deserving favorite here, but I like to take a shot here with the price. Great white. Last time out one, the John Batagra Memorial Stakes over at Turfway Park opted to not run on synthetic again. That race track as a synthetic race track, not a dirt race track decided to shift over to dirt here at Keenlin in the bluegrass as a very good workout over dirt has the pedigree to be a very good dirt horse as well. Price is right for me here at 15 to one. If you want to kind of create a little bit more of a leeway for you, I don't hate the idea of playing a six three exact a cold in that race as well. So three to win and then six three exact that should play 10 plus to one as well.

Then you got two opportunities. Since I do think further ado and great white, the two best horses in the race. And in Santa Anita again, this will be race number 10. It's not the biggest of paydays, but hey, listen, you're getting you're getting more than even money. The beautiful part here, we get in trepidohome at seven to two. It pays for the weekend. Yeah. The four bets on the race track. So we're going to go with number seven and trepidoh. That's a horse I've been waiting to come back in this spot debuted. The seasonal debut was in the Robert B Lewis. That was a mile race, a little bit too short for in trepidoh. He also was forwardly placed basically on the lead the entire race. That's not where he wants to be. He wants a horse to chase. He's going to get that today. Go back. You look at the American Pharaoh at a mile and a sixteenth. That was in my mind, the best two year old performance we saw in California last year. I think this is your best three year old in California this year. I think he proves it today on the race track in trepidoh. The number seven horse race number 10 at Santa Anita, the Santa Anita Derby. One of two on the morning line. Man, I was so hoping by the time you finished this, we'd be like, okay, we're three and no on the early and then this goober walked a guy. So now there's a runner on first like, I mean, just can we get out of this inning?

Can we get out of this nightmare? I mean, just catch the ticket. It sure would be nice. We got full count right now, full count, just strike them out. Just just come on. V Scott, the second. Yes. You don't need to hit here. You're the ninth winner in the lineup. Just end the inning. He watched it right down the middle. There's three. No, there's three. No, Victor Scott just took it right down the pipe. So there we go. Good stuff. Three. Nothing like a little three no to start the day looking pretty good over there at the brewers and royals as well. So we'll see if we can't extend this one and maybe get some horses on a little bit this afternoon too. Yeah. Would be nice. Got two big time college basketball games. I took the align. I minus the one and a half. I still like him if you're shopping around it to two there. I think you'll annoy him. Take out at Yukon. I did play a little bit of Michigan plus one 75 to win it all. I think the winner of Michigan Arizona wins the tournament. So I'd much rather take one 75 and either of them than I would to take the short money lines minus one 15 minus one oh five either way on those sides. Yeah. Still sitting a point and a half in favor of Illinois at most books.

It is two at Caesars and Circa and we did get some juice movement at Fandall and MGM. So those could be heading to two as well. So if you're looking to back Illinois, you can get the one 10 at draft Kings. So if you're looking to to bet them on that one one and a half or one out there in the market in favor of Michigan, you're finding the one at Caesars and Fnatic. So if you're in one of those markets, that's where you can get the cheap price there on Michigan. If you want Arizona, just about every other book has the one and a half out there. Like I said, I don't have a play in that one Mike, but I feel like one 57 and a half is too high. I think with the way Arizona plays in the defense of these two teams that that's just a smidge too high, I probably will end up on the under there. Yeah, pace is going to be interesting in that game and you got to wonder about the three point shooting in the big football stadium as well. We'll see if that plays out. Do you have one more baseball bet today? Took the over in Astros and the A's over 10 minus one 12. That's it for me on the diamond though. Live bet Saturday, Ben Stevens, Dustin, Sweetleson and then Brad Taylor Wilhill will take over for them for Mike.

I'm Matt Goodlock on our bets.
