4:05There's Eric. I sleep with Chinese spies, swallwell and other Democrats and there's so many Democrats that they're splitting the vote. And a new poll came out yesterday that with all the Democratic votes split to Republicans are in the lead. And the way we do primaries in California is the top two vote getters in the primary run against each other. So you might have two Republicans running against each other for governor and the top guy Steve Hilton. We're about to talk to in a couple minutes. The other interesting thing that happened yesterday was there was a debate scheduled, but USC known for their racism wouldn't allow any people of color on the stage. Well, they had a threshold of polling that you had to meet to get on the stage. So you don't end up with, you know, 30 people debating and it gets all watered down. You don't learn anything from candidates that actually have a chance to win. But Javier Fibisera, for instance, former attorney general complained that he was left out. USC is racist as you would expect. That's hilarious. You cannot make this stuff up.

5:06From the advisor to British prime ministers to Fox News host patriotic American Steve Hilton joins us. He's running for governor of Cald Unicornia. Steve, how you feeling? I'm feeling good, but frustrated. I should be talking to you this morning on the back of another debate triumph because most of the debates I've done, I'd say all of them, I've won hands down. That's not just me talking the first TV debate. They did a statewide poll. It was me against six Democrats. I won by 66% the nearest Democrat got 17% most of them in single digits. Why? Because it's so obvious. We need change in this state and we can't go on like this. And I think they're panicking because you've got me leading these polls. There's another one that came right yesterday. I was on 20% swore well on 15, the other Republican on 14. So look, whichever poll you look at right now, we've got momentum and we're leading. And that's what they can't stand. And so they canceled the debate. And of course, on the one hand, you could look at the cancellation of the debate, yet another example of, you know, they can't do anything right.

6:06These Democrats, they can't even organize a debate. They can't build a high-speed rail line with hundreds of billions of dollars, even the butterfly bridge to nowhere or the people mover in LAX or solve homelessness or do anything. Totally clueless and incompetent. Can't even do a debate. That's the kind of light-hearted, funny way of talking about it, but actually there's a serious point. It's not even the political correctness where you have these ridiculous LPDs, as I call them, the low polling Democrats, whining about things like LPDs, I like it. LPDs, we're going to make that a thing. So the LPDs, all jumping up and down, oh, it's race, you race, racism. No, it's because it's not because of your race, it's because you're not doing well enough in the race. That's why you weren't on the debate, but the real point I want to make is, do you know what actually happened that caused this debate to be canceled? The legislature, the leaders of the Democrats in the state legislature wrote a letter to USC on headed paper with all their ridiculous little pressure groups and factions, the LGBT caucus and the Native American caucus and the women's caucus and the Latino and all

7:10the usual suspects, right? But the letter was signed by Robert Rebus, who is the leader of the state assembly and Monique Limon, who's the Democrat leader in the state senate, telling USC that better put these LPDs in the debate, or they'll be troubled. Now that is bullying and intimidation from the state legislature to USC, that's why the debate was canceled. They wrote that letter on Monday, USC panicked, they said, well, now we've not just the candidates whining, we've got the state legislature on our back. That's a whole different thing, so then they go to ABC, who are the media partner going to broadcast the debate and say, okay, we want to get these people back in, ABC said no, get lost. And then they canceled the debate, but it actually shows you the arrogance and corruption that you get after 16 years of one party rule. It was the legislature that canceled this debate, it is totally outrageous. You know, I don't know why, but for the first time, I'm getting the you could win feeling.

8:13It reminds me because we were doing this job back when Arnold first started running and we had him on the show several times, and I remember when he was, you know, doing his rap on our radio show, and just thinking, you know, there's something here, there's some momentum here, it's a unique time when even the democratic voters of the state are so fed up with the way things are, and I'm feeling, I'm feeling your vibe here, man. Yeah, I locked out to me too, honestly, and I'm not just, you know, I'm the opposite of complacent. I'm working hard every week, but we do these town halls up and down the state, and the numbers are growing, you know, used to be, you know, 40, 50 people would come now with now, then it was a hundred, now we're getting 200, sometimes 300 people coming along. This is open travel, and they're not, it's not Republican events, this is just sharp in a place, put the word out on social media, and people come along, and you're getting people who ask questions, it's totally open, it's not me making some boring speech, it's like come and ask what's on your mind, and a lot of the time, yes, it's, I don't want to be, you know, I want to be accurate, I would say most of the people are Republicans,

9:16but there's a lot of Democrats coming, you know, just last, you know, the last one we did, I voted for Kamala Harris, I think we need to change, what are you going to do about whatever it is? So there's something happening there, the fundraising is going really well, and then the other thing I just want to point out is a couple of things we've got going for us this year that make me really confident we could do it. Number one, in the midterm election, it's all about turnout, getting the party that does the best job, getting its voters out, does best, we've got some really important weapons for turnout this year, which is on the ballot in November, we're going to have voter ID, which Republicans particularly are enthusiastic about, and save Prop 13 to keep to restore the protections of Prop 13, do all these endless tax increases they're bringing in. So Republicans will go out and vote for that more than Democrats. The second big thing, these utterly useless Democrat candidates, I mean, come on, like you were just talking about, Porter, Swolver, Tom Steyer, these people are such a joke.

10:16And then the other factor that's new this year, different to previous races, is just the growing volume, both from here within our state and nationally pointing out and revealing the extent of the fraud and the corruption and the abuse of our money. You've got Nick Shirley here doing it. You've got James O'Keefe, I was, I sat down with James O'Keefe in LA last weekend, he took up the stuff he's been putting out on the paying for signatures and voter registration. You've got the Manhattan Institute, Chris Rufo, just set up a new bureau here to investigate corruption in California. You've got the Feds, JD Vance, the fraud hunting, you've got Bill Esaley, my friend Bill Esaley who's the US attorney doing incredible job prosecuting fraud, so there's volume on California and it's just going to get louder and louder because everyone is sick of it, Dr. Oz coming in and CBS News, the hospice fraud. I mean, there's so every week, there's more and more exposure of exactly how badly they've

11:21mismanaged this state. And I think people are furious about it and they're going to kick this party out in November. I was pleasantly surprised to see even CBS News was on the ridiculous hospice fraud story which shows at least growing awareness and enthusiasm is the wrong word, but the indignation about all of the fraud and waste abuse that you get with one party government, which is a perfect lead into what was going to be my next question. I'm looking at the same poll that had you dominating Mr. Fang Fang in the sweet cupcake that is Katie Porter and lunatic leftist tech guy Tom Stoyer, but it had right direction, right track wrong track, right track was still 33% of people, what will it take a junkie to move in your house and like urinate on your carpets, you 33%, but wrong track was 52. I think your main task and tell me if I'm wrong is going to wake people out of their

12:23sleepy apathy and help them understand there is a better state that could be. 100% and here's how I see this going, obviously I'm planning to be in the top two. My expectation is that it will be another Democrat and I think really it looks like it's going to be swole well. Really? Freaking irish swole well. I mean like I always say, look at the candles like the president would say they're not sending their best or maybe they are their best who knows how bad it's got, but look at them. I don't know which is the worst, but it just feels like swole well. It feels as if the machine is moving behind him, right? You got that big endorsement from the SEIU, you got, you know little signs like Adam Schiff is very close to Pelosi endorsing him and a couple of other members of Congress. So I think that they want a puppet that they control and obviously Tom Styser Billion

13:26has own money so they can't control him. There are reports that, long standing reports that they can't stand Pelosi, can't stand Katie Porter and so they don't want her. And so who else have they got? I mean they tried all these other people, they tried to get Padilla to run, they tried, they think maybe Kamala Harris would run and none of these people wanted to do it for various reasons. I think that's where this is heading. I feel like swole has got serious great Davis vibes. It's such a joke. He's not a serious person. I mean that's the fundamental point. Anyway, my point was going to be once we're in a situation post June where it's just a very clear choice, this or that, right? Do you want more of the same, another four years or eight years of this one party rule or change? I think that will really focus right now, you know, you've got all these candidates and it's all a bit of a model and people aren't really paying attention. But I think that once the primary is out of the way, it's a whole different world.

14:26And then I think, well that's when it really, we can really turn up the volume on, come on. I mean is there anyone that really believes what this state needs is another four years of Democrat one party rule? I find an argument that works even with Democrats and independents who are not never going to call themselves Republicans, but I would say, look, come on, it's not healthy to have 16 years of one party rule, just a bit of balance in the system is a good idea. The Democrats are still probably control the state legislature, they'll still probably run all the big cities and the counties, having a bit of balance in the mix is a good idea and you get people nodding along for that. So I just feel really confident that if we get a shot at putting that clear choice out there, that's why I actually go back to that first TV debate because it really was clear. It was me against six other Democrats. I didn't do anything amazing. I just told the truth about how bad everything is, we've had, we've got the highest taxes in the country for the worst results, highest poverty rate, highest unemployment rate, highest cost of living, 50th out of 50, according to US News and World Report for Opportunity, 50th

15:31out of 50, wallet hub says for affordability, chief executive magazine, California rank, 50th out of 50 for business climate. I mean, we have the highest gas tax in the country, 50th out of 50 for the quality of our roads. It's insane how bad it is. It is insane. He's like trying to sue those people for making jokes about him. Okay. So he had a bunch of kind of heard something Gulf of America is the last thing I paid attention to. They'd never heard the word Ayatollah before. So I have a personal story about a discussion about college that I'm going to get to in

31:14a second. But just culturally over time, how did we decide that if your middle upper class and above, we should all spend either the parent should spend a lot of money or the kids should go into debt or a combination of the two to spend four years screwing around. I almost said, effing off, screwing around and learning nothing and just partying because that's part of life in a very cool part of life and everybody should do it. How did we decide that culturally? I got there inch by inch because of all the problems we've discussed many times in education system. I'm not buying into it, which is my bad news for my kids. They know I'm not buying into it. If they have a specific reason to want to learn something to go to college, I will help with trying to figure out how to pay for that. But I'm not doing the whole, you get four years to screw around and not learn anything thing. I'm just not doing it. So you can wave in an increasingly worthless piece of paper around here and it's funny how. So culturally, it has changed a lot. Not everybody's aware of that.

32:15The polling has flipped completely. I should have dug up the latest, but we talked about it a couple of weeks ago. It's gone from like 70% of people think college degree is very important to like 72% of people think it's not in a couple of years. And well-earned college system, well-earned. I mean, and there's all kinds of reasons why and we all know them, but some doing a medical thing the other day and the physician person was talking to me while they were doing something to me that was very painful. And you have kids who said, yeah, two teenagers and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And I get increasingly uncomfortable as my kids get older talking about any of this stuff because it's not fair to them, but I kind of have to hear. She said, so where are they going to go to school and I said, so I hate that question to start with because I hate the assumption that that's what everybody is going to do and should do. I just think it's nuts that we got there. And I said, well, I got the oldest is probably not going to do that at all.

33:16She said, oh, I'm sorry. Oh, wow. I was like, okay, I thought, well, since you fired that shot off, I said, well, I've been college is mostly a waste of time and money for most people. So I'm encouraging not to go without regard to whether or not she has done that for her children because she's fired the first volley there, but the whole attitude of, I'm sorry, your kids not going to college, what the, what the, back that statement up. Go ahead. I'm perfectly confident in my decision, go ahead, back up your statement on why that is a sorry thing that we're not going to go spend 150 grand or whatever for a four year party where you learn nothing. That's statistically true. Yeah. I just think for a lot of people, it's inertia. They're unfamiliar with the incredible changes in our educational system from K through grad school and continue to think, well, of course, college degree is the ticket to the middle class. They just don't know. Yeah. I would agree. It was. Plus there is that snooty Obama ask everybody should go to college because other, other than

34:21that is, is an object of pity. Sure. It's the anti-microwist point of view. Absolutely. True. And we've got to get over that. Especially it would seem as AI comes along and takes a lot of the, you do this because you went to college and it doesn't require much jobs, but AI can't do the, I actually learn how to do something jobs, but I had another point. Oh, I am, I am not pro college. I am pro knowledge. I am a heart percent pro knowledge. I do stuff every day on my life to get smarter. I am big, big on knowledge and I came across this piece by Steven Pinker, who's, you didn't know who he is or not, one of the great thinkers of our time. And about how schools have been teaching reading, but ignoring the importance of acquiring knowledge for a very long time and for whatever reason we're having a moment where educators are catching on to the fact that knowledge is the point. Oh, good. Of reading. That's the whole point of it.

35:22And the way I'm sorry, I'm sorry, we lost that somehow. Yeah. And I guess I can see how that might happen. Maybe it was just assumed for so long that of course that's why you're reading, but anyway, the way we teach reading and the way the, and then the way we test on whether or not you're good at reading left out the, are you acquiring knowledge, Bart? And we need to get better at that and Steven Pinker lays it out in a very Stephen Pinker complicated sort of way, but reading, not just for road signs, that would be my slogan. Not just to pass tests anymore, I guess would be it. I love acquiring knowledge, however you get it, you know, through talking to somebody, a YouTube documentary or reading, whatever, acquiring knowledge is huge for, for human success and enjoyment, in my opinion. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Depending on your personality type, I guess, my favorite thing in the world, if schools I, there used to be the whole, I mean, this goes back to when we were kids and probably

36:23longer, maybe, what am I ever going to use this? You know, whatever you're learning in school, there's a lot of school, there's a lot of stuff in school. My kids have learned about it. I cannot come up with a reason why you need to learn that possibly it's training your brain to learn things, but why don't we train our brains to learn things that might have some freaking possible use? There's got to be stuff, isn't there? I feel like the tail wagged the dog. I mean, I think got out of hand so long ago on school is just something similar to college. K through 12 was like college. It's always existed. It should exist. There's a lot of funding involved. We just need to get them there, whether they come out of there, better prepared to succeed in life is a non-question, K through grad school. Right. Right. I don't know how it happened. I guess a bit by bit like you said. Yeah. And all the trends we've discussed, plus the iron law bureaucracy ought to weigh in here momentarily where every bureaucracy goes from an institution that's dedicated to a particular

37:27purpose to bit by bit, person by person, it becomes an institution that's devoted to the institution itself and forgets its purpose. Every day bureaucrats come to work determined to protect their bureaucracy. Government education in the US is that it is a giant, multi-layered tentacle octopus of bureaucracy. But we've seen, and now the teachers unions, like the teachers unions now have a policy on Israel. What the hell? But we speak cause they're dedicated to the teachers union. That's it. You've brought us the studies many times where they say most college kids come out of college and not having actually learned anything, they're no, they're no smarter than they were when they went in. I wonder how true that is for, for a lot of grades. Outside of you, get the ability to read and do some math barely. But I think every single thing your kid does from when they show up at 8.30 to they leave at 3. Should be run through the, is this going to make them flourish as a human being scale?

38:31And I think a lot of it just doesn't. And I'm willing to be quite a bit of leeway is playing the clarinet and band going to make you more employable. No, but I do think there are, there are benefits to all that is at my son's middle school concert last night. And I was thinking about all the benefits of that, not just the musical stuff, but the dressing up, performing something in front of people, understanding just the idea of a group activity and people sitting there and watching just all the dynamics of that. Yeah, plus I would add the neurological penicillin music, which are enormous. But yeah, they're all sorts of sociological stuff, too, like you're talking about. Yeah, I agree. But I think there's a lot of stuff in school, I'm not sure you can justify it. Yeah, I'd have to go case by case. You know, I guess I'm more 30,000 footage on this and the fact that there are plenty of individual teachers who are all about imparting knowledge. But they are now absolutely fighting the bureaucracy, not aided by it. Yeah, and then you get the whole teaching to the test thing because you've got all the

39:31various testing that goes on to see if you're doing a good job, which the impetus for that was definitely good. I'm once again, trying to wagging the dog at the end of it, though. Yeah. Oh, that reminds me. You know, I'd really like to take a minute to kick Andy Bashir, who is the alleged moderate rising star likable governor of Kentucky, who's gotten a lot of attention in who might be the POTUS circles because he is a reasonable moderate. He has committed an act of misgovernance, so egregious and so clearly in service of the teachers unions, I'd like to call him out for that. I'm going to read this pinker piece about knowledge becoming, acquiring knowledge through reading, becoming a big thing, that it's having a moment in education now, I want to learn more about that. Yeah, it's a great thing, I how healthy and big are those green shoots I would like

40:34to know. Yeah. There's this federal program that started up, it was passed by Congress a while ago. You the taxpayer can claim federal tax credits for up to $1,700 for donations to scholarships, which can be used by students in public schools who need extra services or private school

44:47tuition. You can donate to scholarships that kids can go to private school with and it's a tax deduction. If your state doesn't opt into the program because there was an opt-in thing, donations you make can be used in other states. Simple as that. Well, most of the governors in America said, wow, that's great. Yeah. This is for the kids. The government schools are failing. Let's do this. But in all your deep blue states, the governors have rejected this program that's merely a tax deduction for making a donation to a scholarship fund. In Kentucky where moderate, reasonable presidential prospect to Andy Bashir is the governor, he surprised the state because the legislature passed, yeah, we want in on this great idea overwhelmingly, and Andy Bashir vetoed it and the legislature, which is a fairly purple state, overwrote his veto 77 to 14 in the house and in the Senate 31 to five.

45:56And Bashir has been making all sorts of weak, stupid arguments about why he did, why he vetoed it and his defense. It is 100% because the teachers unions told him, if you want to keep getting our money, you will veto this, the teachers unions hate this program. They talk about, it's going to train money from public schools and it's denying the kids the right to an education blah, blah, blah. And Bashir's explanations have been bizarre, bizarre, just weak. In fact, as I look at them, they're not even worth reading. But it's just another example of how teachers unions have perverted the educational process and even a guy like Andy Bashir is dancing to their tone because you look at every town in America, how many schools are there, how many teachers are there, how many union doos are being paid there, how much money is accumulated and they have enormous sway.

47:01If I ever become a billionaire, which is unlikely, I'm going to, you know, the to do the usual stuff by a couple of really cool houses, probably fly private, but I'm also going to devote at least 300 billion, the 300 million dollars to just trolling people like, I don't know, the teachers unions, I'm going to spend a hundred million dollars to start the US kids union. And it is going to go up against the teachers union and message across America and we're going to hold marches and all the great sorts of stuff. I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. It should pay your fair share. But oh, yeah, I'm well, I'm sure I will. The governor says it's the height of elitism to tell Kentucky parents that they don't know it's best for their children. Yeah, that's what he's doing by opposing school choice. And it takes no money, zero money out of the state budget. It takes zero money from education. It's a tax deduction for a donation to a scholarship. But the teachers unions oppose it to the point where they get a moderate Democrat to reject

48:01it, even though he's immediately overridden by giant majorities. That's how nuts it is. Fight the power. We have more to come.
