On April 3rd, a California dairy outfit called raw farm out of Fresno is finally pulling some raw cheddar cheeses off shelves. Health folks have been digging into an E. coli outbreak tied to their stuff, and after dragging their feet at first, the company dropped the voluntary. Recall Thursday on more than half a dozen varieties, those batches expire between May and September of 2026. The FDA kicked off the probe last month, when sick folks pointed to raw farm products. They inspected the facilities last week, but didn't turn of any E. coli in the cheese itself. Still, the company went ahead with the recall under protest, saying it's just to keep things moving forward. Nine people got hit by this bug so far, including some kids across a couple states. Out of eight who topped two officials, seven admitted eating or drinking raw farm, raw cheddar or milk, two cases from 2025, five from this, year. Milk tests show all the strains match up tight, screaming common source. Raw milks blowing up lately, hyped on social media, and backed by health secretary Robert

F. Kennedy Jr.'s push for healthier eats. Problem is, without pasteurization, germs like E. coli, salmonella, and listeria can hang around and cause real trouble. This recall sticks to just their branded cheddar, no other products pulled. FDA can force it if they have to, but states handle raw milk rules all different from farm sales to cow shares. Keep an eye on those labels and stay safe out there. I'm Corey with the story, and you've been listening to Global News today, AI-powered Global Coverage.
