He previously spent 14 years with the U.S. Department of Justice, half as a federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of New York where he specialized in international organized crime and half as the Resident Legal Advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, where he worked on U.S.-Russian law enforcement cooperation.
